Artesia, California

The Artesia Water Tower is a water tower in Artesia, California. It is one of the main landmarks in the city and can hold 50,000 US gal (190,000 L), although it is inactive. Not much is known about the tower's history. The city is aiming to have the tower declared as a historical landmark. It appeared in the film Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare and the sitcom My Name Is Earl.

The Holy Family Catholic Church is a Catholic church located in Artesia, California. Established in 1930, it holds masses in English, Spanish, Tagalog, Portuguese, and Mandarin Chinese. It is named after the Holy Family of Jesus and is a part of the San Pedro Pastoral Region in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. The church also contains a school, Our Lady of Fatima (OLF), named after one of Mary, mother of Jesus' titles. As of 2014, it has over 15,000 active parish members and 80% of the mass attendees are Filipino as of 2019. Rev. John Ernesto Ma. Cordero, MMHC, currently serves as its pastor. Its logo reads "Go, Therefore, and Make Disciples of All Nations...," quoting Matthew 28:19.

Pioneer is a planned light rail station in the Los Angeles County Metro Rail system. It will be the southern terminus of the West Santa Ana Branch Transit Corridor project, located in Artesia at Pioneer Boulevard. The segment of the corridor is expected to begin operations in 2035. The route may later on be further expanded along the West Santa Ana right-of-way, but Metro has not yet announced any plans to do so. The station is located adjacent to the former Pacific Electric West Santa Ana Branch Artesia station, built in 1906. Passenger services operated until 1950.

Cerritos (Spanish for "Little hills") is a city in Los Angeles County, California, United States, and is one of several cities that constitute the Gateway Cities of southeast Los Angeles County. It was incorporated on April 24, 1956. As of 2019, the population was 49,859. It is part of the Los Angeles–Long Beach–Anaheim, California Metropolitan Statistical Area designated by the Office of Management and Budget.

Since September 1971, the Los Cerritos Center has been an integral part of the city of Cerritos' tax revenue. The mall is the city's largest revenue source, producing $581 per square foot in sales ($296 million total) in 2010. The tax revenue generated from the Los Cerritos Center for its host city totals to approximately $3 million a year. The facility is owned by Macerich & GIC Private Limited.

Tracy (Wilbur) High Continuation School is a public continuation school in Cerritos, California, serving grades 9-12. It is part of ABC Unified School District. The school has a teen parent program which gives teen parents the skill they need to raise a child.

Pat Nixon Park is a neighborhood park in Cerritos, California, named for the late First Lady Pat Nixon (1912-1993). The 4-acre (1.6 ha) park occupies the site of the former First Lady's childhood home and truck farm, where she lived from 1914 until 1931, a Senior Center that now sits on the site of the home after it was destroyed by a fire in 1978, and the Patricia Nixon Elementary School.

The Cerritos Library is the civic library for the City of Cerritos, California. It was rededicated on March 16, 2002, with the new moniker and the current futuristic design. It was the first building to feature an exterior clad with titanium panels in the United States. It is the first "Experience Library" and focuses on themed spaces, high quality artwork, and inspirational architecture.

Artesia Cemetery is a historic 14 acres (5.7 ha) cemetery in Cerritos, California. Opposite Gahr High School, it is one of the oldest cemeteries in Los Angeles County, with burials as far back as the 1860s. The cemetery is maintained by the Artesia Historical Society and was the only local cemetery for a while.

The Cerritos Veterans Memorial, located in Cerritos, California is a 20-foot-high (6.1 m) sculpture dedicated in honor of local veterans. The sculpture is part of a "Cerritos Veterans Project," which seeks to preserve the stories of veterans who are current or former residents of the City of Cerritos. The sculpture, which was designed and built by artist James T. Russell, sits on the grounds of the Cerritos Civic Center.

Cerritos High School, also called CHS, is a comprehensive, four-year public high school located in Cerritos, California, serving grades 9-12. It is part of the ABC Unified School District. As of the 2014-15 school year, the school had an enrollment of 2,176 students and 86.2 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 25.2:1. There were 354 students (16.3% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 209 (9.6% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.
