Croft Hotel

The Church of St Peter, Croft-on-Tees is a 12th century grade I listed parish church in the village of Croft-on-Tees in North Yorkshire, England. Artefacts and carvings inside the church are believed to have given rise to many of the characters created by Lewis Carroll, who as a child, attended St Peter's in the 1840s when his father was rector of the church. The church also features in Simon Jenkins' book "England's Thousand Best Churches".

Croft-on-Tees is a village and civil parish in the Richmondshire district of North Yorkshire, England. It has also been known as Croft Spa, and from which the former Croft Spa railway station took its name. It lies 11 miles (18 km) north-north west of the county town of Northallerton.

Croft Bridge is a road bridge over the River Tees, straddling the border between North Yorkshire and County Durham, in the north of England. The road over the bridge is now the A167, previously a second branch of the Great North Road, meeting the old road in Darlington. The bridge dates back to Medieval times, and is the setting for the awarding of a sword to the incoming Bishop of Durham.

Croft Hall is a historic building in Croft-on-Tees, a village in North Yorkshire, in England. The building was constructed as a manor house, probably in the 15th century, for Richard Clervaux. It was rebuilt in the late 16th century, for Christopher Chaytor, and in the early 18th century was remodelled in the classical style, for William Chaytor. It was modified in the 19th century, probably by Ignatius Bonomi. Its owner at the time, another William Chaytor, later built Clervaux Castle nearby, and relocated there, with the hall passing to another branch of the family. The building was grade II listed in 1951. The house is constructed of roughcast red sandstone, with painted stone dressings, on a chamfered plinth, with chamfered rusticated quoins, a coped parapet, and a hipped tile roof. There are three storeys and an L-shaped plan, with a front range of four bays, and a rear wing on the right. The central doorway has a fanlight with decorative glazing and a keystone, and the windows are sashes with keystones. The right return has two bays, and contains a French window. Inside the house is a 19th-century staircase and panelling, said to have be relocated from the old Mansion House in Newcastle upon Tyne. Other internal carvings have been moved from Ripon. The hall has a 5 acres (2.0 ha) garden, which was laid out in the early 20th century.

Monk End House is a historic building in Croft-on-Tees, a village in North Yorkshire, in England. In the mediaeval period, a house on the site was owned by St Mary's Abbey, York. The current building may retain some 15th century material, but mainly dates from the early 18th century. At one time, the conservatory was used as a schoolroom. The house was grade II listed in 1968. In 2011, it was sold for £2.25 million, the most expensive property in the Darlington area between 2000 and 2024. The house is built of brown brick, with a dentilled eaves course and a hipped Westmorland slate roof. There is a U-shaped plan, with a main range of three storeys and five bays. In the centre of the east front is a round-arched doorway with Roman Doric three-quarter columns with fluted capitals, an entablature with paterae, a fanlight with decorative glazing, and an open pediment. The windows are sashes with flat brick arches. At the rear is a chamfered mullioned basement window, and in the left return is a two-storey canted bay window.

Croft Spa railway station was a railway station serving the settlements of Croft-on-Tees and Hurworth-on-Tees in County Durham, England. The station was located on the East Coast Main Line between Northallerton and Darlington. It was served by local trains on the East Coast Main Line, and also trains operating the Eryholme-Richmond branch line.

The River Skerne is a tributary of the River Tees. It flows through County Durham in England.

Croft Viaduct is a railway bridge carrying the East Coast Main Line between Northallerton and Darlington in Northern England. The viaduct crosses the River Tees, the border between North Yorkshire and County Durham. Although it was an early example of a stone viaduct in the railway system, it is not the first true railway viaduct, however, it was the first railway viaduct in the United Kingdom to have been built with an oblique arch (or skew-arch). It was grade II listed in 1988, and had overhead line equipment installed in the early 1990s.

Hurworth Place is a village in County Durham, in England. It lies south of Darlington on the northern bank of the River Tees, opposite the village of Croft-on-Tees in North Yorkshire to which it is linked by Croft Bridge, a Grade I listed structure dating from the 14th century, which marks the county boundary. It is part of the civil parish of Hurworth.

Aldbrough Beck is a small beck in North Yorkshire, England. The beck starts near Eppleby, in the Richmondshire district, and flows southeast, joining the Mary Wild Beck. It passes under a packhorse bridge while passing through Aldbrough St John. One mile further on the stream becomes known as Clow Beck and flows seven miles more, joining the River Tees near Croft-on-Tees.

Hurworth Grange Community Centre is a building in the village of Hurworth-on-Tees, Durham, England. Built in 1875, it has had a long and varied history, from private residence of a wealthy Quaker banking family to its modern-day use as a community centre.

Hurworth School is an coeducational secondary school located on Croft Road, Hurworth-on-Tees, in the borough of Darlington, England. It is part of the Swift Academies Multi Academy Trust. It is an over-subscribed 5 form entry comprehensive school, with accommodation for around 650 pupils in the 11 to 16 years age-range. Academic courses lead to examinations at GCSE level and substantial numbers of pupils move on to Higher Education. Pupils are drawn largely from the villages of Hurworth, Middleton St George and Neasham as well as from an area of south-east Darlington.
