Stapleton (locally [stepəltən], ˈsteɪpltən), is a small village and civil parish on the River Tees, North Yorkshire, England. Historically, the settlement was part of the North Riding of Yorkshire.

Cleasby is a village and civil parish in the North Yorkshire district of North Yorkshire, England. It is close to the River Tees and Darlington and the A1(M). The population at the 2011 Census of ONS was 208.

Newton Morrell is a village and civil parish in the Richmondshire district of North Yorkshire, England. It is 6 miles (9 km) from Darlington and 2 miles (3 km) from Junction 56 on the A1(M) motorway and 7 miles (11 km) north-east of Richmond.The village was described in the Domesday Book as belong to Count Alan and in the manor of Gilling. The name of the village derives from a combination of Old English (nīwe tūn) and a family surname of Morrell (from Old French meaning "dark and husky").At the 2011 Census the population of the civil parish was less than 100. Information regarding this population is included in the parish of Cleasby. The village is very near Barton and Stapleton.Just to the south of the village is what has been designated as a medieval shrunken village. Earthworks are also present at this site.

Blackwell Bridge is a masonry road bridge spanning the River Tees between County Durham and North Yorkshire, in Northern England. The bridge was built in 1832, and widened in 1961. It carries the A66 road, which stems from the A66(M) spur off the A1(M) motorway. It used to be the main route north on the A1 until a bypass was opened in 1965.

St Peter's Church is the parish church of Cleasby, a village in North Yorkshire, in England. The first church on the site was described in 1823 as "a very ancient structure", but later as "small and inferior". It was largely demolished and rebuilt in 1828, retaining some of the original stonework. At the time, its dedication was unknown, but it was later rededicated to Saint Peter. It was restored in 1878, when the fittings were replaced. The church was Grade II listed in 1968. The church is built of sandstone with a Westmorland slate roof. It consists of a nave with a west porch, and a chancel with a north vestry, and there is a bellcote on the west gable. At the west end are stepped buttresses, and a gabled porch containing a doorway with a pointed arch and a hood mould. Above the porch is an eaves band, and a quatrefoil in the gable. Inside, there is an early-20th century chancel screen incorporating a pulpit and reading desk. There is a 13th-century font which has been retooled and is on a newer plinth. There is a tablet recording the grant of Queen Anne's Bounty by John Robinson, Bishop of London, who was born in the parish. The south window of the chancel has yellow enamelled glass which was installed at Bristol Cathedral in 1710 and moved to Cleasby in 1906.

Tees Cottage Pumping Station is a Victorian pumping station complex at Broken Scar on the A67 near Low Coniscliffe just west of Darlington. The site dates from 1849, and was built to provide drinking water for Darlington and the surrounding area. It is a scheduled monument housing two completely original pumping engines in fully working order: a 1904 beam engine, built by Teasdale Brothers of Darlington, which is still steamed using its original 1902 Lancashire boilers; and a rare 1914 two-cylinder gas internal-combustion engine, the largest such engine surviving in Europe. Both engines can be seen in operation on certain weekends through the year, using their original pumps to pump water from the River Tees.

Low Coniscliffe is a village in the civil parish of Low Coniscliffe and Merrybent, in County Durham, England. The population of the civil parish taken at the 2011 Census was 716. It is situated 3 miles (4.8 km) west of Darlington. Its present built-up area is confined in practice between the A1, the A67 and the Tees, but its old boundaries probably extend much further. Its most obvious landmark on the A67 is the Baydale Beck Inn. The village contains a couple of listed buildings and the probable site of a medieval manor house. There was once a gallows in the village. A rare fungus Rhodotus palmatus was found nearby.

Hell Kettles is a Site of Special Scientific Interest in the Darlington district of County Durham, England. It was designated for its biological interest as the only site in County Durham where there is a body of water fed by springs.

Hummersknott Academy is a secondary school in Darlington in the north east of England. It schools approximately 1,250 pupils aged eleven to sixteen. It has specialist Language College status. Since 2005 and holds accreditations for Artsmark Silver, Eco-schools Silver, the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents silver award for Health and Safety and an International School Award.

Blackwell Grange Golf Club is a golf club situated in the Blackwell area of Darlington, County Durham, in the North East of England.

Aldbrough Beck is a small beck in North Yorkshire, England. The beck starts near Eppleby, in the Richmondshire district, and flows southeast, joining the Mary Wild Beck. It passes under a packhorse bridge while passing through Aldbrough St John. One mile further on the stream becomes known as Clow Beck and flows seven miles more, joining the River Tees near Croft-on-Tees.

Hummersknott is an area in the western end of Darlington, County Durham England. It is a ward in the unitary authority of Darlington. It consists of mainly post-war houses, and is closely linked to Mowden. The population of the ward taken at the 2011 Census was 3,478.The area of Hummersknott is generally regarded as the area around Hummersknott School and up to Carmel Road North. There is also a Victorian cemetery and a Catholic secondary school, Carmel RC College, which also has a sixth form.
