2024 Women's PGA Championship

The 2010 U.S. Senior Open was a senior major golf championship and the 31st U.S. Senior Open, held from July 29 to August 1 at Sahalee Country Club in Sammamish, Washington. It was the first U.S. Senior Open played at the course. World Golf Hall of Fame member Bernhard Langer won by three strokes over Seattle native Fred Couples. The 2010 event was Langer's second senior major championship victory in as many weeks.

The 2002 WGC-NEC Invitational was a professional golf tournament, held August 22–25 at Sahalee Country Club in Sammamish, Washington. It was the fourth WGC-NEC Invitational tournament, and the second of four World Golf Championships events held in 2002. It was the only time the event was not held at Firestone Country Club in Akron, Ohio. Sahalee hosted the PGA Championship four years earlier in 1998. Craig Parry won the tournament, four strokes ahead of runners-up Robert Allenby and Fred Funk, for his first victory on the PGA Tour. It was Parry's only win in a World Golf Championship event, and the first WGC-NEC Invitational which Tiger Woods did not win; his winning streak was stopped at three as he finished in fourth, five strokes back. Rich Beem, winner of the PGA Championship the previous week, finished in a tie for sixth. With the win, Parry moved to 45th in the Official World Golf Ranking, up 73 spots from the previous week.

The 2016 KPMG Women's PGA Championship was the 62nd Women's PGA Championship, played June 9–12 at Sahalee Country Club in Sammamish, Washington, a suburb east of Seattle. Brooke Henderson, 18, won her first major title with a birdie on the first hole of a sudden-death playoff with top-ranked Lydia Ko. It was the second win in a major by a Canadian and the first in 48 years. Henderson and Ko both had bogey-free final rounds with scores of 65 (–6) and 67 (–4), respectively.Known as the LPGA Championship through 2014, it was the second of five major championships on the LPGA Tour during the 2016 season. This was the second year that the championship was organized by the PGA of America.Sahalee hosted the PGA Championship in 1998, the first of three majors won by Vijay Singh. It was scheduled to host again in 2010, but the PGA of America reversed its decision and moved it to Whistling Straits in Wisconsin. The USGA helped fill that void with a senior major at Sahalee, the U.S. Senior Open in 2010, won by Bernhard Langer. The Seattle area is an annual stop on the PGA Tour Champions with the Boeing Classic at TPC Snoqualmie Ridge in late August. The area formerly hosted the Safeco Classic, an LPGA Tour event from 1982 through 1999, held in September at Meridian Valley Country Club in Kent, southeast of Seattle.

The 1998 PGA Championship was the 80th PGA Championship, held August 13–16 at Sahalee Country Club in Redmond, Washington, a suburb east of Seattle. Vijay Singh won the first of his three major championships, two strokes ahead of runner-up Steve Stricker.This was only the tenth time the championship was played in the western half of the United States; the next was 22 years later at TPC Harding Park in San Francisco. It was the third major championship held in the Pacific Northwest, all PGA Championships. The previous two were match play events, held in Spokane in 1944 and Portland in 1946. Sahalee was scheduled to host again in 2010, but the PGA of America reversed its decision in early 2005 and moved it to Whistling Straits in Wisconsin.

The Sahalee Country Club is a private golf course and country club in the northwest United States, located in Sammamish, Washington, a suburb east of Seattle. In the Chinookan language, Sahalee means "high heavenly ground." The 27-hole course is located on a heavily forested plateau immediately east of Lake Sammamish. Sahalee is best known as the site of the PGA Championship in 1998, the first of Vijay Singh's three major titles. It was also the host of the WGC-NEC Invitational in 2002, won by Craig Parry. The course's original architect was Ted Robinson; in preparation for the PGA Championship, Rees Jones renovated the course in 1996, 1997, and 1998. The course has been listed on Golf Digest's Top 100 Courses list for over twenty years, and is the host of the Sahalee Players Championship, a top amateur tournament in the region. It also was the site of the inaugural GTE Northwest Classic in 1986, a former senior tour event.After the success of the 1998 PGA Championship, Sahalee was selected in 1999 to host the championship again in 2010. That decision was reversed by the PGA of America in January 2005, when the 2010 event was abruptly moved to Whistling Straits in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, which had recently hosted the very profitable 2004 edition and set new attendance records. The PGA of America stated that it was concerned about the possibility of reduced financial support in the Pacific Northwest; it was scheduled to be held less than six months after the conclusion of the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, BC.In February 2007, the USGA selected Sahalee to host the U.S. Senior Open in 2010, held from July 29 to August 1. Bernhard Langer of Germany shot eight under par and won by three strokes over local favorite Fred Couples, Couples, originally from Seattle, was in his first full season on the Champions Tour. In June 2016, Sahalee hosted a women's major, the KPMG Women's PGA Championship; Brooke Henderson defeated top-ranked Lydia Ko in a sudden-death playoff.

Evans Creek Preserve is a 179-acre (72 ha) natural area that was donated to the City of Sammamish, Washington, in 2000. The site includes portions of Evans Creek and other water features, wetlands, and meadows, as well as steep terrain. The site provides habitat for black bears, beavers, hawks, deer, and songbirds. There are nurse trees on the site, which are tree stumps that provide nutrients for new trees.Construction of a 10-stall parking lot, restrooms, trails, and other amenities were completed in 2011 with a partnership between the City of Sammamish, the Washington Trails Association, businesses, and community organizations. Construction of additional trails occurred from 2013 through 2016.The park has two trailheads. The older trailhead is on 224th Ave NE. The newer trailhead is located at 3650 Sahalee Way NE.

Tesla STEM High School (formerly STEM High School) is a magnet school in Redmond, Washington. It is a designated Choice School in the Lake Washington School District and offers a STEM-based curriculum. As of May 2021, by US News Rankings, Tesla STEM is the number 1 high school in Washington, number 16 in the nation, and number 9 for magnet schools. The school operates as a magnet program. Students are admitted from across the district on a lottery basis with 150 students per grade for a total enrollment of 600 students.

Sammamish ( sə-MAM-ish) is a city in King County, Washington, United States. The population was 67,455 at the 2020 census. Located on a plateau, the city is bordered by Lake Sammamish to the west and the Snoqualmie Valley to the east.

Renaissance School of Art and Reasoning is a public middle school located in Sammamish, King County, Washington, USA. It is a choice school operating in the Lake Washington School District. Renaissance, located on the campus of Eastlake High School, has an arts-based curriculum and a maximum enrollment of 96 students, 32 in each grade. Renaissance accepts student applications from all grade schools in Lake Washington School District, but as there are currently many more applications than there are available spaces at the school, all incoming sixth grade students are chosen by random drawing.

Eastlake High School is a four-year public high school in Sammamish, Washington, a suburb east of Seattle. Opened in 1993, it is one of four traditional high schools in the Lake Washington School District, serving its eastern portion. Eastlake shares its campus with the Renaissance School of Art and Reasoning, located in portables. Eastlake is one of three high schools on the Sammamish Plateau, all close in proximity along 228th Avenue. Skyline High School, in the Issaquah School District, opened in 1997 and is about 1-mile (1.6 km) south of Eastlake. Between the two public high schools is Eastside Catholic, a private secondary school that relocated to Sammamish in 2008. In the fall of 2012, Lake Washington School District converted its four senior high schools (grades 10–12) to four-year schools (grades 9–12), moving the freshman class for the first time from the Jr. High to the district's High School. In preparation for the expansion of Eastlake's student body, a new wing (E wing) and the gym was built during the summer of 2012. This shift of grades between schools subsequently also resulted in the moving of most 6th Grade classes from the Elementary schools to the now Middle Schools. In 2020, while students were not present due to the COVID-19 pandemic, an C wing, for additional science and mathematics classes. It was built adjacent to the E wing.

Ebright Creek Park is a 12-acre (4.9-hectare) neighborhood park located alongside the Ebright Creek Watershed in the city of Sammamish, Washington, United States. It has areas for different types of activities, despite being built near wetland buffers and sensitive areas.

Lake Sammamish is a freshwater lake 8 miles (13 km) east of Seattle in King County, Washington, United States. The lake is 7 miles (11 km) long and 1.5 miles (2 km) wide, with a maximum depth of 105 feet (32 m) and a surface area of 8 sq mi (21 km2). It lies east of Lake Washington and west of the Sammamish Plateau, and stretches from Issaquah in the south to Redmond in the north. At Issaquah it is fed by Issaquah Creek, and at Redmond it drains to Lake Washington via the Sammamish River, named after the native people who once lived along its entire length. The 98 sq mi (250 km2) Lake Sammamish watershed stretches from Redmond through Bellevue, and Issaquah to Preston and Hobart, and consists of numerous creeks which flow into the lake. Issaquah Creek is the largest tributary, furnishing over 70% of the lake's inflow.
