Spath is on the River Tean and is divided from Uttoxeter by the A50 road. In UK railway history, Spath is notable as the site of the first automatic (i.e. train-operated) level crossing in the United Kingdom (AHBC: automatic half barrier crossing), which came into operation on 5 February 1961.The railway closed four years later, and has now been dismantled, the road which crossed it via the automatic crossing is now gated and only leads to a farm and there is no remaining visible sign of the crossing. Spath was the original home of Stevensons of Uttoxeter, a bus company that celebrated its 80th anniversary in 2007.

Thomas Alleyne's High School (TAHS) is a coeducational upper school and sixth form located in Uttoxeter, Staffordshire, England. It is one of three schools founded in 1558 from the will of Thomas Alleyne. It has four different coloured houses: Elkes (Red), Orme (Green), Torrance (Blue) and Whitmore (Yellow). The school celebrated its 450th anniversary in 2008.

Dove Bridge is a medieval bridge across the River Dove on the boundary of Staffordshire and Derbyshire in England. A river crossing has existed here since before the 1086 Domesday Book, on the road between Derby and Newcastle-under-Lyme. The current structure, a six-arch bridge, is thought to date from the 15th century, though it has been subject to later repairs and significant widening work in 1913. A larger replacement bridge was constructed in the 1970s and now carries the A50 dual carriageway. Dove Bridge is now only used by pedestrian and farm traffic.

St Mary the Virgin's Church, Uttoxeter, commonly called simply St Mary's, is the parish church of the town of Uttoxeter, Staffordshire, England. Its tower and spire were built in the 14th-century; the nave was rebuilt in 1828 and the chancel in 1877. It is a Grade II* listed building.This is one of two Anglican churches in the parish; the other, also St Mary's, is commonly called "The Heath Mission Church" to avoid confusion.

Oldfields Ground is a cricket ground in Uttoxeter, Staffordshire. The first recorded match on the ground was in 1905, when Staffordshire played Bedfordshire in the grounds first Minor Counties Championship match. The county played a further Minor Counties match on the ground in 1906, but after that it would not be until 1950 that Staffordshire used the ground again, using it as a home venue from 1950 to 1970. In total, the ground hosted 21 Minor Counties Championship matches, with the final Minor Counties match seeing Staffordshire play Durham.J Bamford's XI used the ground for first-class matches, the first of which was against the touring South Africans in 1907, the second was against the Marylebone Cricket Club Australian Touring Team in 1908 and the touring Australians in 1909.The last county match on the ground was the 1970 Minor Counties Championship fixture between Staffordshire and Durham. The ground is still in use and the pavilion is a listed building.
