Beccar is a town located 17 km (11 mi) north of the Buenos Aires metropolitan area in the Buenos Aires Province, Argentina. It is part of the partido of San Isidro in Gran Buenos Aires. It is situated close to the historic town of San Isidro and it is characterized by tree lined streets and plazas, red tiled roofed style chalets, high-rise apartment buildings that line the Avenida Centenario zone and by being close to the coast of Rio de la Plata river and yacht clubs. Nearby there is a large shanty town (Villa La Cava). Beccar is served by a 10-minute walk to scenic Tren de la Costa light rail line at Punta Chica station and the commuter railway at Beccar station with easy access to Buenos Aires city centre and the weekend retreat of the Village of Tigre.

The University of San Andrés (Spanish: Universidad de San Andrés) is a private university located in Victoria, Buenos Aires, Argentina on the shores of the Rio de la Plata, in the metropolitan area of Greater Buenos Aires. It is a small institution, with approximately 900 undergraduate students and 500 graduate students. It is served by one of the largest private libraries in the country, Max von Buch. Maintaining over 70,000 volumes, the library was recognized by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation though their Program for Latin American Libraries and Archives. The university provides more than 70 study abroad programs with universities in Europe, North America, Latin America, and Australia. San Andrés is the first institution in Argentina to offer a double degree accredited by Grandes Ecoles ESCP-Europe.The Universidad de San Andrés is one of the only two liberal arts colleges in Argentina, along with Universidad Torcuato Di Tella. The main campus is located in the town of Victoria, San Fernando Partido (a northern suburb of Buenos Aires). It also has offices in downtown Buenos Aires.

The Hipódromo de San Isidro is a horse racing track located in San Isidro, Buenos Aires, Argentina, owned by the Argentine Jockey Club. It is one of the largest and most important racetracks in the Americas. 120 racing days are held per year, on every Wednesday, every other Friday and Saturday, and some Sundays.The Hipódromo is located 22 km from Buenos Aires City. It has an area of 1.48 km2. Each December, the Hipódromo hosts the Gran Premio Carlos Pellegrini, the most important horse race in Argentina. The Hipódromo de San Isidro hosts the annual Carlos Pellegrini Awards.

Estadio José Dellagiovanna (widely known as Coloso de Victoria) is a multi-use stadium in Victoria, Argentina. It is currently used mostly for football matches. The stadium holds 26,282 people and was built in 1936.It is used as the home of Club Atlético Tigre. In 2006, work was finished to convert the remaining wood stands to cement.

That area is considered rather safe. Unicenter is a major shopping centre. Some of the better-known cafés are Café Victoria and Café Martinez. A favoured street for shopping is Calle Alvear. A UBA (Buenos Aires University) building is located in Martínez. The Martinez local government has a recycling program. Martínez is distinct from Villa Martínez de Hoz and Coronel Martínez de Hoz. The 1962 Canada Cup took place 8–11 November at Jockey Club Golf in San Isidro, Buenos Aires, Argentina. It was the 10th Canada Cup event, which became the World Cup in 1967. The tournament was a 72-hole stroke play team event with 34 teams. These were the same teams that had competed in 1961 but without Paraguay and with the addition of Ecuador and Panama. Each team consisted of two players from a country. The combined score of each team determined the team results. The American team of Arnold Palmer and Sam Snead won by two strokes over the Argentine team of Fidel de Luca and Roberto De Vicenzo. The individual competition was won by Roberto De Vicenzo, who finished two shots ahead of Englishman Peter Alliss and Arnold Palmer.

The 1970 World Cup took place 12–15 November at The Jockey Club in San Isidro 28 kilometers north of the center of Buenos Aires, Argentina. It was the 18th World Cup event. The tournament was a 72-hole stroke play team event with 43 teams. 44 teams were invited, but the Czechoslovakia team of amateurs Jiri Dvorak and Jan Kunšta withdraw from the tournament before it begun. Each team consisted of two players from a country. The combined score of each team determined the team results. The Australia team of Bruce Devlin and David Graham won, with a record aggregate of 544, by eight strokes over the Japan team of Takaaki Kono and Haruo Yasuda. Australia held a record advantage of 19 strokes going into the final round. This was the third victory for Australia in the history of the World Cup, until 1967 named the Canada Cup. The individual competition was won by Roberto De Vicenzo, Argentina one stroke ahead of Graham. The event was dedicated to the 47-year-old home hero De Vicenzo, who had participated in 15 Canada Cup/World Cup events played and shared in Argentina's victory in the 1953 inaugural event.Henrik Lund, Denmark, made a hole-in-one on the par 3 12th hole in the first round.
