Brownsboro-Zorn is a neighborhood in northeast Louisville, Kentucky, United States. Its boundaries are Brownsboro Road to the south, Birchwood Avenue to the west, Mellwood Avenue to the north, and Mockingbird Valley to the east. Residential development began in 1911 between Birchwood and Zorn Avenue, a wide street which bisects the neighborhood. The core of the neighborhood is residential, but there is substantial commerce along Brownsboro Road. The Veterans Affairs Medical Center is located along Zorn. Sarah Knox Taylor, the daughter of former president Zachary Taylor, married Jefferson Davis in a house that stood at the corner of Brownsboro and Zorn in 1835.

Clifton Heights is a neighborhood two miles east of downtown Louisville, Kentucky USA. It was named because of its hilly location atop a ridge about 100 feet above the Ohio River floodplain, overlooking the adjacent community of Clifton. Though first planned in the 1890s as Summit Park, actual growth didn't begin until after World War I when automobiles made the hilly area accessible. Clifton Heights has had an African American presence since its founding, in 2000 they accounted for 21% of the population. Housing stock includes a variety of styles and time frames, from older shotgun houses and bungalows to suburban ranch homes built in the 1970s. Louisville's CBS television affiliate WLKY is located in Clifton Heights. A major production factory for Fischer's meats was located in the area for many decades before being relocated to Owensboro, Kentucky. The former factory building is now an arts and community center. The world's oldest water tower is located just to the community's north on the Ohio River. Clifton Heights is bounded by I-71 on the north, Mellwood Avenue to the west, Birchwood Road on the east, and Brownsboro Road to the south. In 2000, Clifton Heights had a population of 3,667.

Repton is a historic house at 314 Ridgedale Road in Louisville, Kentucky that was designed by one of Louisville's leading architect J. J. Gaffney. The current Classical Revival structure was rebuilt in 1902, using the walls and foundation of the original structure which burned in approximately 1895. The original structure was the home of Norbourne Galt. The property was later owned by inventor Thomas W. Moran who built the current 1902 structure. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

The Louisville Water Tower, located east of downtown Louisville, Kentucky near the riverfront, is the oldest ornamental water tower in the world, having been built before the more famous Chicago Water Tower. Both the actual water tower and its pumping station are a designated National Historic Landmark for their architecture. As with the Fairmount Water Works of Philadelphia (designed 1812, built 1819–22), the industrial nature of its pumping station was disguised in the form of a Roman temple complex. In 2014, the Louisville WaterWorks Museum opened on the premises.

Louisville WaterWorks Museum opened in the west wing of a renovated and restored interior of Pumping Station No. 1 on Zorn Avenue at 3005 River Road in Louisville, Kentucky overlooking the Ohio River. The building was constructed from 1858 until 1860 as part of Louisville's original water works. It was listed as a National Historic Landmark in 1971. Renovations began in January 2013 and the museum opened on March 1, 2014.The restoration restored the building to pre-Civil War condition along with a 1900s-era cast-iron spiral staircase. New bathrooms and prep kitchen were added. The museum collections include Louisville Water's historic photographs, films and memorabilia, as well as architectural drawings, water main sections, meters and tools, and a steam mud pump. The exhibit topics include riverbank filtration, clean drinking water, the use of mules in reservoir cleaning, steam engines, architecture and engineering innovations. The museum is located on the same site as the Louisville Water Tower in the area known as Louisville Water Tower Park.

Mockingbird Valley is a home rule-class city in Jefferson County, Kentucky, United States. Since incorporation, there has been some interest in making it a historic preservation district, largely to prevent unwanted development. The population was 167 at the 2010 census. It has the highest per capita income of any location in Kentucky and the tenth-highest of any location in the United States.Located directly to the east of Louisville along the Ohio River, Mockingbird Valley is frequently referred to as a "country enclave" and is noted for its rural feel. It is located on river bluffs and rolling hills, with large homes set back from the road, heavy tree density, bridges and walls using traditional local materials, as well as undisturbed rock outcroppings. One-third of the roads are privately owned, and the entire city is zoned residential except for a small commercial parking lot.

WLGK (94.7 FM) is a worship music radio station in the Louisville, Kentucky, metropolitan area. It is owned by the Word Media Group. On December 22, 2016, Salem Media Group announced that it would hand operation of its Louisville radio stations, including WFIA-FM, to Word Broadcasting Network (also known as Word Media Group) under a time brokerage agreement. Word ended WFIA-FM's simulcast on WFIA (900 AM), with the AM station changing to a simulcast of Word's contemporary Christian station WJIE-FM. On February 10, 2020, Word Broadcasting announced that it would take advantage of the option in its agreement to acquire the stations from Salem for $4 million; the sale was completed on May 25, 2022.On August 7, 2023, WFIA-FM changed its format from Christian talk to worship music, branded as "94.7 The Sound"; new WLGK call letters went into effect on August 10. The format change again ended the station's simulcast with WFIA (900 AM); the "Sound" programming is simulcast in Fort Knox, Kentucky, on WLVK (105.5 FM), which had launched the format in February 2023 under a local marketing agreement.

The Louisville Academy of Music is a non-profit community music school in Louisville, Kentucky in the Crescent Hill neighborhood. Founded in 1954 by Robert French and Donald Murray, the academy has given over a million music lessons. It originally operated from three rented rooms in Highlands area of Louisville and moved to its current location in 1971.The academy currently offers lessons in piano, strings, voice, woodwinds, brass, guitar, and percussion for students of all ages. The present building on Frankfort Avenue consists of studios, a recital hall, a library and archive that contains thousands of books, records, and files on Kentucky musicians and organizations. The academy has presented more than a thousand programs and has trained over ten thousand students, many of whom have become composers, teachers, chamber music performers and members of major orchestras. Robert French won the 1999 Governor's Awards in the Arts for his work with the school.

The Crescent Hill Branch Library, constructed in 1908 in Louisville, Kentucky, was one of the first of nine Carnegie-endowed libraries built in Louisville, and is a branch of the Louisville Free Public Library. The building has a Beaux-Arts architecture style created by the Thomas & Bohne architect firm. The west side of the library was added in 1961 and the entire library was renovated in 1988. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1981 for its architectural significance and the educational impact on the community up to 1924.

Highlands Latin School is a private classical Christian school located in Louisville, Kentucky, United States. It serves students from Kindergarten through 12th grade. Founded in 2000 by award-winning Latin textbook author Cheryl Lowe and her family, the school currently enrolls 718 full time students in two campuses plus 300 students in a two-day Cottage School.Families wanting a Highlands Latin education near their homes have started more than twenty Highlands Latin Schools across the United States.

St. Mark's Episcopal Church is located in the Crescent Hill historic district, on Frankfort Avenue which began as Louisville and Lexington turnpike in the 1850s. The church is located at the corner of Frankfort and Kennedy Avenues in Louisville, Kentucky. The church was founded as a missionary parish in 1891. The parish purchased the lot upon which the church was built in 1895. The first service was held in the new church on June 12, 1895. Today the church is active member parish of the Episcopal Diocese of Kentucky.

Arctic Springs is a neighborhood of Jeffersonville, Indiana, one mile east of downtown Jeffersonville, and directly across from Louisville's famed Water Tower. It was established as a resort area full of summer cottages. The Jeffersonville Elks Club ran a popular outdoor dance hall in the 1920s. After its height as a resort area, it served as a water supply for the rest of Jeffersonville, as it had an aquifer from which wells could obtain water.
