Birch Hill

Hanworth is a southern suburb of Bracknell, originally part of the now-defunct civil parish of Easthampstead, in the English county of Berkshire. The Hanworth estate was built in the 1970s upon the site of the wooded Hanworth Plantation. It is bounded by Birch Hill to the east, Great Hollands to the north-west, Easthampstead and the Church Hill estate to the north and the Nine Mile Ride and Crown plantations at Crowthorne Woods to the south. The Iron Age hill fort of Caesar's Camp is basically at Hanworth, although it has been transferred to the parish of Crowthorne. Although Hanworth is a separate ward in Bracknell Town Council it is combined with Birch Hill to form Hanworth ward in Bracknell Forest Council. The south west part of Hanworth, roads Oakengates, Ollerton, Orion, Octavia, Qualitas and Quintilis, is called Roman Hill after nearby Caesar's Camp. There are two schools in Hanworth, The Pines Primary [1] and St. Margaret Clitherow Primary (Catholic)[2]. The Pines site also houses Hanworth Community Centre and The Church @ The Pines, a Methodist/Church of England ecumenical church. Opposite the road is the Canny Man public house. Shops are in Birch Hill.

Caesar's Camp is an Iron Age hill fort around 2,400 years old. It is located just in Crowthorne civil parish to the south of Bracknell in the English county of Berkshire. It falls within the Windsor Forest and is well wooded, although parts of the fort have now been cleared of some trees. The area is managed by the Forestry Commission but owned by Crown Estate, and is open and accessible to the public. The hill fort covers an area of about 17.2 acres (7 hectares) and is surrounded by a mile-long ditch, making it one of the largest in southern England.

The Church of St Michael and St Mary Magdalene, is the Parish Church of Easthampstead, Berkshire. The ethos of the parish is one of traditional worship allied to a liberal theology and inclusive approach to both social issues and theology. The church supports a large and growing congregation with activities and study groups for all ages.

Easthampstead is a former village and now a southern suburb of the town of Bracknell in the English county of Berkshire, although the old village can still be easily identified around the Church of St Michael and St Mary Magdalene. This building houses some of the finest stained glass works of Sir Edward Burne-Jones.

Crown Wood is a south-eastern estate of Bracknell in the English county of Berkshire, and formerly part of the parish of Winkfield. Crown Wood was built during the late 1970s and is bounded in by Forest Park to the east, Harmans Water to the north and Birch Hill to the west and is east of the A322 Bagshot Road. It and Forest Park are in Crown Wood ward and named after the Crown Estate of Swinley Forest.Facilities include a shopping centre, The Crown Wood public house, a community centre [1] Archived 15 August 2017 at the Wayback Machine doctors' surgery and Crown Wood Primary School [2].

The Brakenhale School (simply referred to as Brakenhale and formerly Borough Green City Secondary School) is an 11–18 mixed, secondary school and sixth form with academy status in Bracknell, Berkshire, England. It was formerly a community school that was established in 1958 and became an academy in April 2016. It is part of the Greenshaw Learning Trust.

Harmans Water is a suburb of Bracknell, in the English county of Berkshire, formerly part of the parish of Winkfield. It takes its name from Harman's Water Lake, long gone. Building of the estate began around 1960 and was the fourth and last estate to be built as part of the original plan for the new town. The estate lies approximately 1 mile (1.6 km) south-east of the town centre, to the east of the A322 road and south of the A329 road. It is in Harmans Water ward, which following boundary changes now includes parts of Bullbrook, Martins Heron and The Parks.Facilities include a shopping centre, a library, several public houses and Harmans Water Primary School [1]. St. Pauls Church has shared Church of England and United Reformed Church services and is situated adjacent to the shopping centre. There are a few office buildings in Broad Lane but otherwise the estate is largely residential.

Wildridings is a suburb of Bracknell, in Berkshire, England. The settlement lies between the A322 and A3095 roads, is approximately 1 mile (1.6 km) south-west of Bracknell town centre and is in the Wildridings and Central local council ward. Wildridings was built in the late 1960s as the new town started expanding beyond the original planned four estates. It was the first estate in the town to use the practice of naming roads in alphabetical order without 'Road' or 'Street', e.g. Arncliffe, Bishopdale, Crossfell - in this case after names of Yorkshire Dales. In addition road traffic and pedestrians routes were separated. Facilities include a small shopping centre with post office, several public houses and Wildridings Primary School. Mill Pond is a large lake offering leisure facilities, play areas, a skate park and angling. There is no industrial development. The Offence (1973), a psychological thriller with Sean Connery and Ian Bannen, was filmed in Bracknell. The bulk of the outdoor scenes were taken from March to April, 1972 around Wildridings, specifically Arncliffe, Crossfell, Mill Pond and Mill Lane.

Great Hollands is a suburb of Bracknell in Berkshire, England. It takes its name from a medieval field-name of Easthampstead parish, which it was previously in. Building of the estate began around 1967 as the town continued to expand. The estate lies approximately 1.5 miles (2.4 km) south-west of the town centre, to the west of the A3095 road. Great Hollands is in two wards, Great Hollands North and Great Hollands South.Facilities include a shopping centre, library, community centre, the William Twigg public house and Great Hollands Primary School [1]. There are a number of light industrial units near the shopping centre.

The RAF Staff College at Bracknell was a Royal Air Force staff college active for most of the second half of the 20th century. Its role was the training of staff officers in the administrative, staff and policy aspects of air force matters. Its motto was Visu et Nisu which is Latin for by vision and effort. The equivalent in the British Army was the Staff College, Camberley and the equivalent in the Royal Navy was the Royal Naval Staff College, Greenwich.

Broadmoor to Bagshot Woods and Heaths is a 1,696.3-hectare (4,192-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) in Berkshire and Surrey that extend from a minority of the parish of Crowthorne including around Broadmoor Hospital in the west to Bagshot south-east, Bracknell north-east, and Sandhurst, south. It is part of the Thames Basin Heaths Special Protection Area. Two nature reserves which are managed by the Surrey Wildlife Trust are in the SSSI, Barossa nature reserve and Poors Allotment. Broadmoor Bottom, which is part of Wildmoor Heath, also falls within the SSSI; this reserve is managed by the Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust.

Ranelagh School is a Church of England day school in Berkshire close to the centre of Bracknell. The school was founded by Lord Ranelagh in 1709.
