Philosopher's Way, San Francisco is a 2.7-mile (4.3 km) loop trail around the perimeter of John McLaren Park created by artists Peter Richards and Susan Schwartzenberg, staff artists at the Exploratorium. The trail, dedicated on January 5, 2013, is the first and only path built for philosophers in the United States and features fourteen stone markers by mason George Gonzalez intended as "musing stations" to stimulate contemplation. The US$146,000 (equivalent to $170,000 in 2021) trail was funded as a public art set-aside by the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission, and offers views of Mount Diablo, Mount Tamalpais, Angel Island, and the Pacific Ocean on a clear day.

John McLaren Park is a park in southeastern San Francisco. At 312.54 acres (126.48 ha), McLaren Park is the third largest park in San Francisco by area, after Golden Gate Park and the Presidio. The park is surrounded mostly by the Excelsior, Crocker-Amazon, Visitacion Valley, Portola and University Mound neighborhoods.

Sunnydale station is a light rail station on the Muni Metro T Third Street line, located in the median of Bayshore Boulevard in the Visitacion Valley neighborhood of San Francisco, California. The station opened as the terminus of the T Third Street line on April 7, 2007. It has a single island platform north of Sunnydale Avenue. Tail tracks and a crossover for trains to reverse direction are located south of Sunnydale Avenue.

The Jerry Garcia Amphitheater is an outdoor concert venue located in McLaren Park in San Francisco, California. The amphitheater's maximum capacity is 3,200 people. It is named after Grateful Dead band member Jerry Garcia, who once lived in the nearby Excelsior District neighborhood. It is the site of the annual Jerry Day event, at which various musical groups perform.

June Jordan School for Equity is a small public high school located in the Excelsior District of San Francisco, California. The school is named after writer and activist June Jordan, whom Alice Walker called "the universal poet." June Jordan School for Equity is a part of a nationwide small schools movement, with its parents and staff organized soon after the school was formed to work in helping SFUSD pass a district-wide Small Schools Policy.

The Brisbane Baylands is a 660-acre (270 ha) parcel of land in Brisbane, just south of the San Francisco border. There have been several proposals to develop the site, which was previously used as a railyard and a municipal landfill; historical uses have led to contaminated soil, polluted stormwater runoff, and potential buried toxic waste. None of the present proposals have been approved by Brisbane's city council. The approximately triangular site is oriented primarily north–south and is bounded by Bayshore Boulevard to the west, the Bayshore Freeway to the east, and the San Francisco–San Mateo County line to the north; it includes Brisbane Lagoon as the southernmost extent, although no development is planned for the lagoon. The primary road through the site is Tunnel Avenue, running north–south. Commuter rail service is provided by Caltrain through the middle of the site, parallel to Tunnel and U.S. 101; the Muni Metro T Third line provides light rail service to San Francisco from the northwest border of the site.

Bayshore station is a Caltrain commuter rail station on the border of San Francisco, California and Brisbane, California. The parking lot and about the northern quarter of the platforms are in the Visitacion Valley District of San Francisco; the remainder is in Brisbane. The official address is in San Francisco. Four tracks pass through, two in the middle and two side tracks for trains stopping at the station. During commute hours on weekdays, some trains are scheduled to wait at Bayshore on the side tracks until the Baby Bullet passes on the bypass track. A centerline fence prevents passengers from crossing the four tracks.

Arleta station is a light rail station on the Muni Metro T Third Street line in the Visitacion Valley neighborhood of San Francisco, California on the south slope of Candlestick Hill. The station opened with the T Third Street line on January 13, 2007. It has a single island platform located in the median of Bayshore Boulevard between Arleta Avenue and Blanken Avenue, with access from crosswalks at both streets. The station is the closest Muni Metro stop to the Caltrain station at Bayshore station, which is 0.4 miles (0.64 km) to the south.

Bernal Heights ( BUR-nəl) is a residential neighborhood in southeastern San Francisco, California. The prominent Bernal Heights hill overlooks the San Francisco skyline and features a microwave transmission tower. The nearby Sutro Tower can be seen from the Bernal Heights neighborhood.

Church of the Epiphany is a Catholic church under the Archdiocese of San Francisco. It is located in the Excelsior District near Crocker Amazon Park.

School of the Epiphany, colloquially called Epiphany or Epiphany School, is a Catholic school in San Francisco, California. The school opened in 1938 and is named for the Feast of the Epiphany.

Phillip and Sala Burton Academic High School is an American secondary school in San Francisco, California. The founding of the school is a result of a consent decree ruling in 1984 between the City of San Francisco and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. First established in the Silver Terrace neighborhood, the current campus is located in Visitacion Valley at 400 Mansell Avenue, on the former site of Woodrow Wilson High School. The school is named after former U.S. Representatives Phillip Burton and his wife Sala Burton. From January 2007 to May 2009, Leadership High School cohabited with Burton High School; as did Metropolitan Arts and Tech Charter School from May 2009 to May 2011.
