Llanbadrig

St Padrig's Church is a medieval church in the village of Llanbadrig, Anglesey, Wales. The building probably dates from the 12th century and underwent renovations in the 19th century. It was designated a Grade II* listed building on 5 December 1970.

Cemaes () is a village on the north coast of Anglesey in Wales, sited on Cemaes Bay, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty which is partly owned by the National Trust. It is the most northerly village in Wales (excluding the nearby hamlet of Llanbadrig). The name Cemaes derives from the Welsh word cemais, meaning "bend or loop in a river, inlet of sea, bay". In 2011 the population of Cemaes in Llanbadrig community was 1,357. The most northerly point in Wales, Ynys Badrig, is nearby. Cemaes is a fishing port and tourist resort, and is known for its beach. It has a sheltered natural harbour that looks north to the Irish Sea and is the site of an ancient settlement. Cemaes also has a wind farm and at nearby Wylfa is a nuclear power station. The river in the village is the River Wygyr, which flows from just below Parys Mountain to the sea at Cemaes. It is joined along the way by the Afon Meddanen on Carrog Farm, Carrog. The name Wygyr is Welsh and may mean "green wood" ((g)wig + ir) or perhaps 'where two rivers meet'. Since the Victorian era the picturesque character of Cemaes and the natural beauty of the island have attracted many artists and tourists. Lloyd George used to visit here. Cemaes is located on the Anglesey Coastal Path and is popular with walkers. The village football team, Cemaes Bay F.C., play in the Welsh Alliance League, but previously have played in the League of Wales, being the first team on Anglesey to do so.

Cemais was one of the three medieval cantrefs on the island of Anglesey, north Wales, in the Kingdom of Gwynedd. It lay on the northern side of the island on the Irish Sea. The cantref consisted of the two cwmwds of Talybolion and Twrcelyn.

Middle Mouse (Welsh: Ynys Badrig - Patrick's island) is an uninhabited island situated 1 kilometre (1000 yards) off the north coast of Anglesey. It is notable as the northernmost point of Wales. The island measures a maximum of 207 metres (226 yards) by 110 metres (120 yards), with a maximum area of 3.7 acres and has a maximum altitude of 16 metres (52') above sea level. It is one of a chain of three islands off the north of Anglesey, the others being Ynys Amlwch and Maen y Bugail. Local legend has it that St Patrick was shipwrecked there, giving rise to its Welsh name. He then swam ashore and eventually founded the nearby church of Llanbadrig in about 440 AD, believed to be the oldest Christian site in Wales. Middle Mouse is a favoured place for cormorants, guillemots and razorbills. For visiting scuba divers the attractions are steep underwater cliffs that drop away to 40 metres (130') with abundant marine life. There is very little protection from the fierce tidal flow, so accurate timing for slack water is required. During the 19th century the island was used as a navigational aid to ships sailing into Liverpool. Any vessel that passed the island without signalling, and waiting for, a pilot was liable to incur a fine. The S.S. Liverpool, following a collision with a ship named Laplata, was shipwrecked near Middle Mouse in 1863. She had on board a shipment of tin ingots. In 2005, the island was put up for sale as part of a 168-acre (0.68 km2) estate.

Cemaes Bay Football Club (Welsh: Clwb Pêl-droed Bae Cemaes) is a football team playing in the North Wales Coast West Football League Division One (part of the Welsh football league system). Between 1995 and 1998 the club played in the League of Wales.

Carrog is a village in the community of Llanbadrig, Anglesey, Wales. Recent excavations of a circular hill-top enclosure show that people have inhabited this area since at least the Late Bronze Age or even the Early Iron Age.

Llanbadrig - Dinas Gynfor is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (or SSSI) in Anglesey, North Wales. It has been designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest since January 1957 in an attempt to protect its fragile geological elements. The site has an area of 26.49 hectares and is managed by Natural Resources Wales.

Mechell is a community in the north of the Isle of Anglesey, Wales. Llanfechell is the largest village within the community area. Tregele, Llanfflewyn, Mynydd Mechell, Bodewryd, Rhosbeirio and Carreglefn have a more dispersed settlement pattern. The antiquity of these settlements is shown by the presence of 6 medieval (or older) churches and some 16 more ancient sites dating back into prehistory. The population of the community in 2011 was 1,293.

Cemaes Lifeboat Station was located in Porth yr Ogof cove, Trwyn yr Wylfa (Wylfa Head), on the west side of Cemaes Bay, near the fishing port village of Cemaes, on the north coast of Anglesey, Wales. A lifeboat station was first opened here by the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) in 1872, when the station at Cemlyn was closed for the first time. After few launches and no rescues in the preceding 25 years, Cemaes Lifeboat Station was closed in 1932.

St Mechell's Church is a medieval church in the village of Llanfechell, Anglesey, Wales. The building dates from the 12th century and was rebuilt in the mid to late 19th century. It also had some renovations in the 1990s. It was designated a Grade II*-listed building on 5 December 1970.

Cromlech is an area in the community of Mechell, Anglesey, Wales, which is 143.3 miles (230.6 km) from Cardiff and 224.6 miles (361.4 km) from London.

Llanfechell (from Welsh: llan church + Saint Mechell) is a village in Anglesey, Wales. It is the largest of several small villages and dispersed settlements that make up Mechell Community Council area. It is 11 miles (18 km) east of Holyhead, and 5.6 miles (9 km) west of Amlwch, in the north of the island. Mechell Community (which also includes the small villages of Mynydd Mechell and Carreglefn) had a 2001 population of 1,532, decreasing to 1,293 in 2011. Village services include a church, a primary school, a pub and two chapels. It is an agricultural area, and has been a local centre for markets, livestock fairs, and had both a watermill and a windmill. The area round about has many prehistoric monuments.
