Skoger Municipality

Skoger is a village located on the border between Buskerud and Vestfold counties, Norway. Of its population of 1,082 as of 2005, 654 were registered as residents of Drammen whereas 428 live in Sande in Vestfold county, Norway.

Fjell Skole is a school located in Fjell, Drammen, Norway. 77% of the students are from a minority background. The school also runs classes for immigrants to the Drammen area. In 2008, the school was awarded the Humanistprisen from the Human-Etisk Forbund for "its work in anti-racism, friendship between nationalities, and its mind-changing work". In 2003, it was awarded the Benjamin Prize for its work against racism.

Åskollen is a part of the borough of Tangen-Åskollen in the city of Drammen, Norway. Tangen-Åskollen is one of the eight districts in Drammen and had 6,123 inhabitants (2002). Tangen-Åskollen is located south-east of the city centre. Before 1964 Åskollen was a part of Skoger municipality.Tangen Church (Tangen Kirke) was inaugurated on 25 January 1854. The design was by architect Heinrich Ernst Schirmer. The altarpiece titled "Christ in Gethsemane" (Jesus i Getsemane), was made by Johan Fredrik Eckersberg in 1852. There is a marble baptismal font from 1784, four chandeliers and Holy Bible from 1722. The church has stained glass windows made in 1928 by Norwegian painter Åsmund Esval and an organ from 1934 was made by Josef Hilmar Jørgensen (1892–1961).Traditionally the communities of Tangen and Åskollen were principally engaged in agriculture and forestry. Seafaring and shipbuilding were early industries. Dating from the early 19th century, a number of companies developed along the shoreline, including an iron foundry from 1847. Drammen Glassworks (Drammen Glassverk) started in 1873 and was closed in 1977. Drammen Glassworks was owned by the joint venture Hurdal, Biri and Hadeland Glassworks. During the 1890s, the factory was the largest single local employer and the principal source of window glass made within Norway.

Klever is a village in the municipality of Holmestrand, Norway. Its population (SSB 2005) is 371 and has an area of 0.4 km². The local sports club is Nordre Sande IL.

Drammenselva (English: Drammen River) is a river in Buskerud county, southeastern Norway.

Holmen, formerly also Møllerholmen, is an 0.6 km2 island at the mouth of the river Drammenselva in Drammen, Buskerud, Norway, and the only remaining island in downtown Drammen.

The Drammen Bridge (Norwegian: Drammensbrua) is a motorway box girder bridge that crosses Drammenselva river in the town of Drammen in Norway. It is the longest road bridge in Norway, 1,892 metres (6,207 ft) long. The bridge has 41 spans; the longest span is 60 metres (200 ft). The maximum clearance to the water is 11 metres (36 ft). The Drammen Bridge was opened in 1975 with two lanes. A parallel bridge was finished in 2005 with two more lanes. The new bridge has round, slim pillars, while the old one had wide, rectangular pillars. It was decided to replace the pillars under the old bridge, with round pillars similar to the new. This work started shortly after the new bridge opened, and the bridge was closed. The replacement was finished in December, 2006.

Eikeberg or Ekeberg is a village in Holmestrand Municipality in Vestfold county, Norway. The village is located about 6 kilometres (3.7 mi) to the north of the village of Sande i Vestfold and about 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) to the south of the village of Skoger (in Drammen Municipality). The European route E18 highway and the Vestfoldbanen railway line both pass by just to the west of the village. The village of Klever is located on the other side of the E18 highway to the northwest of Eikeberg. The 0.32-square-kilometre (79-acre) village has a population (2024) of 468 and a population density of 1,461 inhabitants per square kilometre (3,780/sq mi). This village is where the writer Ragnhild Jølsen was born. The author Jens Bjørneboe's wrote the book "Dream and the wheel" about the life of Ragnhild Jølsen, and wrote about Eikeberg in this book.

Strømsø is a borough of Drammen, Viken, Norway.Strømsø is located at the southern side of the river Drammenselva. Until about 1600, Stømsø was an island surrounded by the Drammenselva, but was later made landfast. In 1728 Strømsø was granted rights as a trade center by the king, and these rights were expanded to full trade rights in 1745. In 1811 Strømsø and Bragernes (on the northern side of Drammenselva) were united to form the town of Drammen. Strømsø has sports facilities, retail, office, industry and schools. Most of Strømsø consists of residential areas. At Strømsø we find Drammen railway station, being a junction for the Randsfjorden Line (connecting to the Bergen Line crossing the Hardangervidda), the Sørlandet Line (leading to Kristiansand and Stavanger) and the Vestfold Line. The main part of Drammen Harbor is situated at Strømsø. Opened in 1925, the Drammen shipyard (Drammen Slip og Verksted) was an important part of Drammen's industry until it closed down in 1986. The historic crucifix shaped church Strømsø Church (Strømsø Kirke) which was opened in 1667 is located in Strømsø. The tower of the church was not built until 1694. The church's architect was Daniel Knoff.During the first part of this century the old industrial area of Strømsø, formerly known as Grønland, has been remodeled and transformed into a Science Park (Kunnskapsparken), providing facilities for several governmental institutions such as the police authorities, County offices and the campus for Buskerud University College, Norwegian School of Management - BI Buskerud, Telemark University College (TUC) and Drammen library.

Drammenshallen is an indoor arena located in Drammen, Norway. It opened in 1978 and is primarily used for handball, and to a lesser extent, track and field, trade shows, exhibitions, and in the past major concerts. Drammen HK and Glassverket IF is currently the main tenant at the facility. The capacity is approximately 4,000 or 6,000 for concerts.

The Marienlyst Stadion has been the home ground of Strømsgodset Toppfotball since 1967. It's located on Marienlyst in Drammen, Norway.

The port and river city of Drammen is centrally located in the south-eastern and most populated part of Norway. Drammen municipality also includes smaller towns and villages such as Konnerud, Svelvik, Mjøndalen and Skoger.
