Bentspoke Brewing Co is a Canberra-based brewing company initially founded as a Brewpub in 2014 by brewers Richard Watkins and Tracy Margrain. Bentspoke now supports both a Brewpub in the central Canberra suburb of Braddon, and a commercial brewing and canning facility in the Canberra light-industrial estate of Mitchell. Bentspoke's commercially available canned beers sport a bike theme (as does the company's name).Bentspoke have historically performed well in the yearly Australian GABS Hottest 100 Aussie Craft Beers of the Year awards, with their Crankshaft IPA taking out the top spot in both 2021 and 2022. They were also the only Australian brewery to secure a champion's trophy at the 2019 International Brewing Awards.In 2019 Bentspoke partnered with the Canberra Innovation Network to brew The Innovator, a sustainable beer incorporating wild yeast, pear juice and dried edible insects (crickets and black soldier fly larvae) "aiming to highlight innovation and test the possibilities of brewing using local and environmentally friendly ingredients".

Elouera Street is a light rail station in Australia on the Canberra Metro R1 Civic to Gungahlin line, located at the intersection of Northbourne Avenue, Elouera Street and Gould Street. It is one of two stations serving the suburbs of Turner and Braddon. Bicycle racks are provided for commuters adjacent to the station. The station is close to Lonsdale Street, a popular dining and nightlife strip. Many businesses in this area were heavily impacted by road closures and delays during the construction phase, with a number of public car parks being lost to make way for light rail infrastructure contributing to prolonged accessibility issues.

Haig Park is a park in the suburbs of Braddon and Turner in Canberra, Australia. It lies on either side of Northbourne Avenue. The park is named to honour Earl Haig, the Commander-in-Chief of the British Expeditionary Forces during the First World War, spans the distance between Mount Ainslie and Black Mountain. The park comprises fourteen rows of trees planted to form a windbreak and shelterbelt. The majority of planting was in 1921, when Canberra's first Superintendent, Parks and Gardens, Charles Weston, planted over 7000 trees, predominantly exotic.According to the ACT Territory and Municipal Services Directorate, the park was designated a public park in 1987 and it has been classified by the National Trust. The park is also listed on the ACT Heritage register.In 2012 the ACT Government prepared a master plan for Haig Park.

Braddon is an inner north suburb of Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, Australia located adjacent to the Canberra CBD. The suburb is one of the oldest suburbs in Canberra, a relatively young city, settled in 1922 and gazetted as a division name in September 1928. It contained Canberra's first light-industrial area. In recent years this area has begun to be redeveloped as an entertainment and residential precinct. Other areas have been redeveloped with flats. It is now Canberra's most densely populated suburb.

Gus's cafe is a cafe located in Civic, Canberra, Australia. It opened in 1969 and later became the first outdoor pavement cafe in Canberra. It is one of the oldest and best known cafes in Canberra and one of the first European-style cafes in Australia. It has both outdoor and indoor dining areas. The cafe was established by Augustin 'Gus' Petersilka (20 July 1918 – 23 October 1994) who emigrated to Australia from Austria in 1951 and arrived in Canberra in 1962. Petersilka had difficulties with introducing this new style of dining to Canberra as it was against the regulations of the time for people to sit outside in a cafe or restaurant, and he had several well-publicised clashes with bureaucrats.A plaque on the pavement outside Gus's cafe marks the occasion of Gus Petersilka being made the Canberran of the Year for 1978. It reads: Gus epitomised the emerging soul of Canberra. His constant representations on behalf of the people of the city produced the establishment of the outdoor Viennese cafe throughout Canberra. He was the scourge of the establishment and a crusader of the people. His friendly hospitality and fierce determination has been indelibly stamped on the character of Canberra. May his energy, vision and laughter live on in this city. Petersilka was commemorated on 14 November 2002, by having a street named after him in the Canberra district of Gungahlin. The cafe was heritage listed in 2011.On 11 March 2011, Gus's was added to the Australian Capital Territory Heritage Register.On 9 March 2012, Gus's was temporarily closed down by the ACT Health Directorate for serious food safety breaches and risks to the public.The cafe closed in late June 2016 and was sold. It re-opened in September 2017 as Gus' Place.

Comcare is a statutory authority of the Australian Federal Government established under the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988 (SRC Act) and covered by the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013 (PGPA Act). The Jolimont Centre is a commercial building in Canberra, Australia. It is also the city's long-distance coach station.

The School Without Walls (SWOW) was a public alternative school in Canberra, the capital of Australia, which operated from 1974 to 1997.

In November 1993 an event known as the "Jolimont Centre siege" took place resulting in the serious wounding of one person and the death of another over the course of two hours. The centre was set on fire and extensive damage was caused by a lone gunman.The Jolimont Centre, located in Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, was the home of the Department of Industrial Relations and radio station 2CA.

City Interchange, formerly City Bus Station is located in the central business district of Canberra. It is a major connecting point for Transport Canberra services across the ACT, as well as commuter bus services to surrounding areas in New South Wales. Bus stands are located on Alinga Street, East Row and Mort Street, while light rail platforms are located in the median on Northbourne Avenue. The Jolimont Centre, which serves as a station for long-distance, interstate coach services is located to the west of Northbourne Avenue, within easy walking distance of all stands and platforms.

Canberra Centre is a large shopping centre located in the northern section of the Canberra City Centre, Australian Capital Territory, Australia, being the second largest centre in the Australian Capital Territory, behind Westfield Belconnen. It opened on 6 March 1963 as the Monaro Mall, becoming the first in Australia to contain three floors and be fully enclosed, though would later expand to cover a substantial outdoor component on Garema Place. It was designated an Australian Capital Historic Site in 1997. It underwent a $220 million redevelopment and became the Canberra Centre in 1989. It was the first shopping centre in Canberra to have a car park operated by Car Park Ticket Machines. As at December 2020, Canberra Centre was 94,259 m² in size with over 403 retailers.
