Wake Early College of Health and Sciences High School (more commonly known as Wake Early College or WECHS) is a small high school program (grades 9–13, with up to one year of post-secondary education) located on two Wake Tech sites: the Health Sciences Campus and the North Campus, both in Raleigh, North Carolina. The school provides five years of education in which students can receive a high school diploma, and up to an Associate of Arts, Science, or Applied Sciences degree. The school has an enrollment of roughly 265 students as of the 2011–2012 school year. Although it is a public magnet high school under the Wake County Public School System, it serves no base population and also functions as a part of Wake Tech. This school is one of six early college high schools in Wake County. The others are Vernon Malone College and Career Academy, Wake STEM Early College High School, Wake Early College of Information and Biotechnologies, Wake Young Men's Leadership Academy, and Wake Young Women's Leadership Academy (the latter two schools also serve middle school students).

Longview Gardens Historic District is a historic post-World War II neighborhood and national historic district located 1+1⁄2 miles east of downtown Raleigh, North Carolina. The district encompasses 189 contributing buildings and five contributing sites. Notable contributing resources include the Raleigh Country Club golf course designed by Donald Ross, Longview Baptist Church (c. 1955) and Milner Memorial Presbyterian Church (1946), both striking examples of Modernist architecture.Developed from 1938 to 1965 by Clarence Poe, the longtime editor of The Progressive Farmer, Longview Gardens was designed by Richmond, Virginia landscape architect Charles Gillette. A student of the City Beautiful movement, Gillette's design for Longview Gardens consisted of a pattern of curvilinear streets on both sides of a designed parkway.The Longview Gardens neighborhood grew over a series of three separate phases: 1938–1940, 1948-1948, and 1959. Accordingly, its architectural styles reflect this progression, with the earliest homes constructed in the Colonial Revival and Tudor Revival styles popular before World War II and the later homes constructed in the Ranch and Split-level home styles.Longview Gardens is the largest and most artistically designed mid-20th century subdivision in Raleigh and remains largely intact today. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in January 2011.

William G. Enloe GT/IB Magnet Center for the Humanities, Sciences and the Arts, also known as Enloe Magnet High School or Enloe High School, is a public magnet high school offering Gifted & Talented and International Baccalaureate programs located in eastern Raleigh, North Carolina, United States. It is operated under the Wake County Public School System. The first integrated public high school in the city of Raleigh, it was named after William Gilmore Enloe, the Mayor of Raleigh at the time the school was opened.

Historic Oak View, also known as the Williams-Wyatt-Poole Farm, is a 19th-century historic farmstead and national historic district located east of downtown Raleigh, North Carolina, United States. Founded as a forced-labor farm worked by black people enslaved by the land's white owners, Oak View features an early 19th-century kitchen, 1855 farmhouse, livestock barn, cotton gin barn, and tenant house dating to the early 20th century. The Farm History Center located on site provides information to visitors regarding the history of the Oak View and the general history of farming in North Carolina. Aside from the historic buildings, the site also features an orchard, a honey bee hive, a small cotton field, and the largest pecan grove in Wake County.

Madonna Acres Historic District is a historic post-World War II neighborhood and national historic district located 1+1⁄2 miles east of downtown Raleigh, North Carolina. The district encompasses 36 contributing buildings in Raleigh's first subdivision developed by an African American for African Americans. It includes a collection of Split-level and Ranch-style houses constructed of brick with accent walls of stone veneer or wood. A number of the houses feature carports.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2010.

Mary E. Phillips High School is an alternative education high school in eastern Raleigh, North Carolina, USA. It is located east of St. Augustine's college and less than a mile from William G. Enloe High School. The school is a non-traditional high school 9 through 12 that focuses on students who have not been successful in traditional school programs. These struggles can be with attendance, academic performance, or minor behavioral issues. In the 2016–17 school year, Phillips High School capped at approximately 170 students. It employs approximately 30 teachers with a total staff of 40. The current principal is Robbie Gupton, who began at Phillips in July 2017.

The Battery Heights Historic District is a historic neighborhood and national historic district located southeast of downtown Raleigh, North Carolina, USA. Named for the earthen batteries stationed in the area during the Civil War, the neighborhood has a suburban character, despite its close proximity to the city center. The district is roughly bounded by East Martin Street on the north, Battery Drive on the east, East Davie Street on the south, and Sherrybrook Drive (originally Cox Street) on the west. It has a highly intact collection of 18 contributing buildings built between 1956-1964 and is a good example of Raleigh's post-World War II suburban development. Battery Heights' prominent architectural styles include Ranch and Split-Level homes primarily built in brick, stone and concrete.Battery Heights was one of a few subdivisions planned for the African American community in Raleigh. Its original owners and residents included physicians, educators, builders and government agency employees—one of whom, George Exum, was as the general contractor for several of the homes. The neighborhood is rapidly renewing since the mid-2010s and many new homes are being built on vacant lots and existing homes are being repaired. The newly renovated Robert's Park and Community Center is situated centrally in this neighborhood. The park has a children's playground, tennis court, basketball court, small baseball field and community center. Raleigh National Cemetery encompasses 7 acres in Battery Height's neighborhood. Battery Heights was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in January 2011.

WAUG (750 kHz) is an AM radio station broadcasting a mainstream urban format. Licensed to New Hope, North Carolina, United States, the station serves the Raleigh–Durham area. The station is owned by St. Augustine's University and features programming from American Urban Radio Networks and the Radio One-owned Syndication One. WAUG radio is a daytime-only operation, leaving the air at sunset to prevent interference to 50,000-watt WSB in Atlanta, the Class A clear-channel station on 750 AM. The university also runs a low-powered TV station, WAUG-LD (channel 8). WAUG-LD is carried by Spectrum Cable on digital cable channel 168 in Raleigh.
