Abergwili Junction railway station

Glangwili General Hospital (Welsh: Ysbyty Cyffredinol Glangwili), previously known as West Wales General Hospital, is a general hospital in Carmarthen, Wales. It is managed by Hywel Dda University Health Board.

Abergwili () is a village and community in Carmarthenshire, Wales, near the confluence of the rivers Towy and Gwili, close to the town of Carmarthen. It is also an electoral ward. Named after the village of Abergwili, the community includes the settlements of Peniel, Llanfihangel-uwch-Gwili and White Mill. The grounds of the former Bishop's Palace are listed on the Cadw/ICOMOS Register of Parks and Gardens of Special Historic Interest in Wales.

Llangunnor is a village and community located in Carmarthenshire, Wales. It is the southern suburb of Carmarthen town and consists mainly of typical suburban housing which has expanded in recent years. It has a small shop, two chapels, a church and a Primary School. It is made up of the villages and hamlets of Nantycaws, Pensarn, Login and Pibwrlwyd.

Abergwili railway station served the village of Abergwili in Wales. It was the first station after Gwili Junction, the point where the line through it divided from the Carmarthen to Aberystwyth Line.

St David's Church is a Church in Wales parish church in Abergwili, Carmarthenshire, Wales. The church was built in the early 1840s when the Rev. Joshua Hughes was vicar, and was near to the location of a mucch earlier church, said to date from the medieval period. The new church was consecrated in 1843. The cost was £1,400, and Hughes was later to become Bishop of St Asaph. Richard Davies, who translated parts of the Bible into Welsh in the sixteenth century, was buried at this church. In October 1849, a memorial to Davies was unveiled, portraying him seated at a table, at work translating the scripture. A sermon, in Welsh, was delivered by John Jones (Ioan Tegid), vicar of Nevern. As of 2023, St David's is part of the Bro Caerfyrddin deanery, which consists of eleven churches and is served by four priests.

Carmarthenshire County Museum is a museum in the old county town of Carmarthen, Carmarthenshire in Wales.

Carmarthen Priory, now virtually disappeared, was a monastic settlement which pre-dated the Norman Conquest. It was dedicated to St John the Evangelist and the Celtic saint Teulyddog. The Black Book of Carmarthen, an early Welsh language text, is believed to have been created at the Priory.

Cwmgwili () is a country house set in its own grounds approximately 2.5 km (1.6 mi) northwest of Abergwili in Carmarthenshire, Wales. It was probably built in the late sixteenth century.

Merlin's Oak, also known as the Old Oak and Priory Oak, was a pedunculate oak that once stood on the corner of Oak Lane and Priory Street in Carmarthen, South Wales. Merlin's Oak is associated with the legend of Merlin in the local lore, but it is also said to have been planted by a schoolmaster in 1659 or 1660, to celebrate the return of King Charles II of England to the throne. Legend had it that should the oak fall, disaster would befall the town.

Penuel Baptist Chapel, Carmarthen is a Baptist chapel and attached schoolroom in the town of Carmarthen, Carmarthenshire, Wales. The building dates from 1786 and is located in Priory Street at 7, Esplanade, Carmarthen. Penuel Baptist Chapel was built by Thomas Jones in 1872. It is set back from the road by a stout iron railing fence and has a schoolroom adjoining it which was built in 1886 by George Morgan. The chapel has a broad gabled facade and a large, uncluttered interior in a classical style. It has galleries on all four sides, the downward-pointing timber posts creating quasi-aisles. The corners of the galleries are curved and the fronts of the galleries have panels with balustrades. The organ is in a recess on one of the galleries and underneath this there is a free classical arcaded pulpit behind which is a curved and panelled back with pediments.In 1909–10, Penuel was fully renovated, to such an extent that only the walls and roof remained from the previous building.The church was designated as a Grade II listed building on 9 February 1999, being "a chapel of early origins with exceptional early C20 interior, unusual for the 2-storey arcades". At the time of its renovation in 1910 it was stated that the chapel could accommodate 800 people and was designed in such a way that the occupiers of any pew on the ground and gallery floors have a full view of the pulpit and organ.

Bishops Pond (Welsh: Pwll yr Esgob) is a Site of Special Scientific Interest in Carmarthenshire, Wales, lying adjacent to the former palace of the Bishop of St Davids (now the Carmarthenshire County Museum). The pond is an oxbow lake, formed when a meander of the River Tywi got cut off from the main river. The water level is topped up in winter as the river floods the valley floor, and the level drops in summer. The pond exhibits a natural succession from lake through swamp to marsh, and will eventually become meadow; this happens because aquatic plants clog the water and there is a gradual build up of organic detritus.

Eglwys Sant Ioan, or Church of St John, is an Anglican church in the town of Carmarthen, Carmarthenshire, Wales. It was built in 1889–1890 as the Welsh language church for the parish of St Peter. It is located in Penuel Street. The architects for the building of Eglwys Sant Ioan were Middleton, Prothero & Phillot of Cheltenham. A. G. Edwards, Bishop of St. Asaph and former vicar of St Peter's, Carmarthen, laid the foundation stone on 25 June 1889 and Thomas Collins of Tewkesbury undertook the building work. The original estimate was for a total amount of around £2000 but the costs overran, and the final sum spent was £3041. The building was opened on 15 June 1890 by the Bishop of St. Davids.The church was designated as a Grade II listed building on 19 May 1981, being "a well-designed late Victorian smaller town church".
