Penuel Baptist Chapel, Carmarthen

Merlin's Oak, also known as the Old Oak and Priory Oak, was a pedunculate oak that once stood on the corner of Oak Lane and Priory Street in Carmarthen, South Wales. Merlin's Oak is associated with the legend of Merlin in the local lore, but it is also said to have been planted by a schoolmaster in 1659 or 1660, to celebrate the return of King Charles II of England to the throne. Legend had it that should the oak fall, disaster would befall the town.

Eglwys Sant Ioan, or Church of St John, is an Anglican church in the town of Carmarthen, Carmarthenshire, Wales. It was built in 1889–1890 as the Welsh language church for the parish of St Peter. It is located in Penuel Street. The architects for the building of Eglwys Sant Ioan were Middleton, Prothero & Phillot of Cheltenham. A. G. Edwards, Bishop of St. Asaph and former vicar of St Peter's, Carmarthen, laid the foundation stone on 25 June 1889 and Thomas Collins of Tewkesbury undertook the building work. The original estimate was for a total amount of around £2000 but the costs overran, and the final sum spent was £3041. The building was opened on 15 June 1890 by the Bishop of St. Davids.The church was designated as a Grade II listed building on 19 May 1981, being "a well-designed late Victorian smaller town church".

Carmarthen Priory, now virtually disappeared, was a monastic settlement which pre-dated the Norman Conquest. It was dedicated to St John the Evangelist and the Celtic saint Teulyddog. The Black Book of Carmarthen, an early Welsh language text, is believed to have been created at the Priory.

Richmond Park is a Welsh Premier League stadium in Carmarthen, Wales. Situated on Priory Street, it is currently used for football matches and is the home ground of Carmarthen Town AFC. The stadium holds 3,000 people with 1,000 seats in the Clay Shaw Butler stand. The stand is arranged with 1,000 yellow and black seats in rows, matching the colour of the home team's kit.

St Peter's Church (Welsh: Eglwys San Pedr) is the Church in Wales parish church for the town of Carmarthen, Wales. Though founded much earlier, the present building dates from at least the 14th century. It is the largest church in the Diocese of St David's and is a Grade I listed building. It is also the oldest surviving building in Carmarthen.

The Carmarthen Public Rooms were built in 1854, with the intention to create public rooms were first expressed by Dr David Lloyd in 1839.Commonly referred to as the "Assembly Rooms" the building was designed by James Wilson (architect) of Bath on the site of the Scurlock family town house, where Sir Richard Steele, founder of The Spectator, died in 1729. The site was occupied by The Ivy Bush inn until c1801, and was then premises of the Timmins family, timber merchants. The Assembly Rooms had a 5-bay, 2-storey Italianate stucco facade with balustraded parapet, cornice, arched first floor windows between paired pilasters, and channelled ground floor with recessed sash windows and centre door. In 1918 an article appeared in the Carmarthen Journal stating that in future the Carmarthen 'Assembly Rooms' were to be called 'The Lyric'.The original auditorium was located on the first floor at the front of the building. The impressive auditorium in use today exists to the rear of the entrance block and was built in 1936. The Lyric is a theatre, one of the largest in West Wales and hosts theatre, touring productions, comedians and music. Since 2005, the Lyric has been owned by Carmarthernshire County Council. Prior to this the building was saved by a trust headed by Elizabeth Evans, who formed the Carmarthen and District Youth Opera.

Carmarthen Bridge (also known locally as the Towy Bridge or Town Bridge) is the modern 1930s road bridge crossing the River Tywi in Carmarthen, Wales, carrying the A484 road.

County Hall (Welsh: Neuadd y Sir Caerfyrddin) is a municipal facility on Castle Hill in Carmarthen, Wales. The building, which is the headquarters of Carmarthenshire County Council, is a Grade II listed building.

Carmarthen Castle (Welsh: Castell Caerfyrddin) is a ruined castle in Carmarthen, West Wales, UK. First built by Walter, Sheriff of Gloucester in the early 1100s, the castle was captured and destroyed on several occasions before being rebuilt in stone during the 1190s. The castle was captured by Owain Glyndŵr in 1405. Henry VII's father died at Carmarthen Castle in 1456. During the Wars of the Roses the castle fell to William Herbert and, during the Civil War, was captured by Parliamentary forces. It was dismantled by order of Oliver Cromwell in the mid 1600s. It has been used as the site of Carmarthen's gaol until the 1920s. The remains of the castle were given a Grade I heritage listing in 1954 and is currently a tourist attraction and site of the town's Tourist Information Centre.

Carmarthen Guildhall (Welsh: Neuadd y Dref Caerfyrddin) is a municipal structure in Guildhall Square, Carmarthen, Wales. The guildhall, which was the headquarters of Carmarthen Borough Council, is a Grade I listed building.

Carmarthen railway station is on the West Wales Line serving the town of Carmarthen, Wales, south of the River Towy, 245 miles 55 chains (395.4 km) from the zero point at London Paddington, measured via Stroud. The station is operated by Transport for Wales. Great Western Railway also run a limited service between Carmarthen and London Paddington, usually six trains each way daily with an additional return service to Bristol Parkway.

The English Baptist Church is a Baptist church in the town of Carmarthen, Carmarthenshire, Wales. The building dates from 1869 and is located at the street address 9 Dark Gate in Lammas Street. The church was designated a Grade II* listed building on 19 May 1981. The church is set back from the road in a courtyard where the Black Horse Inn had previously stood. It was built between 1869 and 1870 by the Carmarthen architect George Morgan, his first major undertaking. Records show that the church cost £1,400 to build. The façade is built in temple-style from Bath stone, with four tall columns supporting the portico. There is a flight of wide stone steps leading to the entrance. The interior has a single raked gallery, behind which is an arch with painted foliage and fluted decoration. The edge of the gallery is bounded by a cast iron band and is supported by cast iron columns. The lower parts of the walls are panelled and the original furnishings are still in place; the great seat has a simple balustrade. The organ has a purpose-built gallery but was not installed until 1887.The church was designated a Grade II* listed building on 19 May 1981, as "one of the most architecturally-ambitious classical chapels in Wales". The Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Wales curates the archaeological, architectural and historic records for this church. These include digital photographs and colour transparencies of the exterior and interior of the building, and a leaflet containing a short history of the church.
