Kilmelford (Scottish Gaelic: Cill Mheallaird) is a village in Argyll and Bute, Scotland. It is situated near the head of the west coast sea loch, Loch Melfort, on the A816 Lochgilphead to Oban road about 15 miles (24 km) south of Oban.

Kames Bay is small remote tidal north by northwest facing coastal embayment forming part of the southern coast of Loch Melfort within Argyll and Bute, Scotland.

The Battle of Lagganmore took place in 1646 at Lagganmore in Glen Euchar, west of Loch Scammadale. It was part of the Wars of the Three Kingdoms, though in this case the battle, which was fought largely between Highland clansmen, incorporated a long running feud between Clan MacDonald and Clan Campbell. The Royalist forces of Alasdair Mac Colla, supported by men of Clan MacDougall and Clan MacAulay, defeated the pro-government forces of the Campbells who were supported by Clan MacCallum.

Arduaine (Scottish Gaelic: An Àird Uaine, lit. 'green/fertile promontory or headland', pronounced "Ard oo an-ye") is a village in Argyll and Bute, Scotland. Arduaine is a tiny hamlet just south of Kilmelford. On the reef just outlying, it has very good, classic Scottish diving, with scallops, lobster and many local Melfort prawns and "Squat" lobsters. From a small pier, the holiday cottages on the Island of Shuna are kept supplied during the holiday season The residents mainly Lord it over the poor peasants of Kilmelford and many past Kilmelford village elders have moved from Kilmelford to the utopia of Arduaine.They still visit Kilmelford to do great and good especially when a cake sale or lunch is on at the village hall

Dunan Aula, also known in Scottish Gaelic as Dùnan Amhlaidh, is the site of an exposed cist, located in the parish of Craignish, in Argyll and Bute, Scotland, at grid reference NM83420697. The place-name means "Olaf's mound"; it is said to commemorate a Viking prince so-named, who fell in battle against the native Scots.

Asknish Bay is a small, remote, southwest-facing coastal embayment, located next to the small settlement of Arduaine within Argyll and Bute, Scotland. To the east of the bay lies Arduaine Point (Gael: Rudh' Arduaine), which makes up the west most southern coast of Loch Melfort to the north. It is 12 miles (20 km) south southwest of large west coast town of Oban.

Ardentallen (Scottish Gaelic: Àird an t-Sàilein) is a village in Argyll and Bute, Scotland.

Craobh Haven Scottish Gaelic pronunciation: [kɾɯːv] is a small purpose-built village and sailing port on the west coast of Argyll and Bute, Scotland. It is situated on the Craignish peninsula, 1 mile (1.6 km) to the west of the A816 road, approximately 22 miles (35 km) south of Oban. Craobh Haven is between Arduaine and Kilmartin, and around 17 miles (27 km) north of Lochgilphead. Craobh Haven was built in 1983 as a holiday resort village and marina. Glasgow-based architects Gillespie, Kidd & Coia were involved in the early stages of the project, but were replaced before the construction of the buildings. The large, safe water marina was formed by the building of causeways and a large breakwater between a small group of tidal saltwater islands. The village has one public house, called "The Lord of The Isles", a village store, as well as a harbourmaster and marina office. A watersports centre, together with holiday accommodation, is located on Eilean Buidhe, one of the small islands surrounding the marina. Within the village, there are two small terraces of houses, a group of small cottages, the majority of which are used as holiday rentals, and several small cottages and larger houses scattered around the outer edges and the hillside above the village. The enclosed marina is very popular with private boat owners, but does not have anchorage for larger passenger vessels. There are occasional visits to the village by small cruise ships, touring the nearby islands, which land passengers by their ships boats to awaiting coaches, for sight-seeing trips ashore. The waters to the north of Craobh Haven are part of the Firth of Lorne, and the village overlooks the Slate Islands, with Shuna being the closest. Beyond the Slate Islands are the Garvellachs, and to the southwest are the islands of Colonsay, Oronsay, Jura and Islay.

Craignish (Scottish Gaelic, Creiginis) is a peninsula in Argyll and Bute, on the west coast of Scotland. It lies around 25 miles (40 km) south of Oban, and 10 miles (16 km) north-west of Lochgilphead. The peninsula is around 5.5 miles (8.9 km) long, and is aligned along a north-east to south-west orientation, in common with much of the landform of coastal Argyll. To the south is Loch Craignish, which contains several small islands. To the north are the Slate Islands, with the island of Shuna closest. Jura is only 3 miles (4.8 km) west of Craignish Point, the southern tip of Craignish. There are two main settlements on Craignish, Ardfern on the south coast, and the modern village of Craobh Haven, established in 1983 as a holiday resort and marina, on the north. A single-track road, the B8002, runs along the south shore of the peninsula. In October 2023 a landslip blocked the A816, which feeds the B8002, cutting-off the village from the south. Heavy rain caused 6,000 tonnes of earth to fall, blocking the road. The road was still blocked in November 2023.

Ardfern (Scottish Gaelic: Aird Fheàrna, meaning "the head-land of alder-trees") is a village in Argyll and Bute, Scotland. It lies on the south coast of the Craignish peninsula, facing Loch Craignish. Ardfern lies between the towns of Oban to the north and Lochgilphead to the south. On the east side of the Craignish Peninsula is Nether Lorne, Argyll. The population is approximately 400.

Eilean Mhic Chrion is a tidal island sheltering Ardfern in Loch Craignish, Scotland. Eilean Mhic Chrion is one of 43 tidal islands that can be walked to from the mainland of Great Britain and one of 17 that can be walked to from the Scottish mainland.

Ford (Scottish Gaelic: Àth na Crà) is a small village at the southern end of Loch Awe in Argyll, Scotland. The village originated as a stopping point on the drove route to Inveraray. The Ford Hotel dates back to 1864, and was probably erected on the site of the old change house. Today it is a guest house and is a listed building. There are historic paddocks along the side of the ford to Dalavich road. A hill known as Dun Dubh overlooks the village.
