While largely surrounded by residential private property, it is also home to the popular Lake Geneva Park. It is located just across the street from Lake Killarney. Lake Geneva is one of several lakes in Lakeland South, including Lake Killarney, Fivemile Lake, and Trout Lake. Lake Geneva is mostly surrounded by homes and forest. Lake Geneva Park is located on the northeast shore, and is home to grassy sports fields, forest trails, and a fishing dock. In addition to the fishing dock at the park, there is a Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife boat ramp on the northwest shore. Fish species in the lake include bluegill, largemouth bass, and rainbow trout (stocked).The lake is managed by a special district. Its priorities include maintaining the health of the lake through noxious weed, algae, and water quality management, waterfowl control, and maintaining the watershed and lake outlet.

The Rhododendron Species Foundation and Botanical Garden (RSBG) on 22–24 acres is a nonprofit botanical garden specializing in rhododendrons in Federal Way, Washington. As of 2006 the Foundation's mission is devoted to the conservation, research, acquisition, evaluation, cultivation, public display, and distribution of rhododendron species. The gardens contain over 10,000 rhododendrons, set out as a woodland garden among native conifers. It is adjacent to the Pacific Bonsai Museum.

The Weyerhaeuser Corporate Headquarters is a modernist building in Federal Way, Washington and the former home of timberland company Weyerhaeuser. The campus was designed by architect Edward Charles Bassett and landscape architect Peter Walker. The campus was sold by Weyerhaeuser in 2016 when the company moved to a new office in Seattle's Pioneer Square. The property was purchased by Industrial Realty Group and renamed to Woodbridge Corporate Park.

Todd Beamer High School is a four-year secondary school located in Federal Way, Washington within the Federal Way School District. The school was built in 2003 and was named after Todd Morgan Beamer, a passenger aboard United Airlines Flight 93 during the September 11, 2001 attacks. He was one of the passengers who attempted to foil the hijacking and reclaim the aircraft, which crashed into a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania. The school was opened in September 2003.Todd Beamer Campus received a $675,000 grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation for staff development during the school's first three years.
