The River Sig is a 2.4 mile long river on Dartmoor in the county of Devon, England. It is a tributary to the River Lemon which it meets at Sigford.

Sigford is a small hamlet in the Parish of Ilsington, on the eastern edge of Dartmoor, Devon, England. It is situated at the confluence of three rivers, although the name of the settlement refers to just one of these, the River Sig. The other two rivers are the Lemon and Langworthy Brook. Upstream from Sigford on Langworthy Brook are a number of old arsenic and tin mines, and at times the river water can appear bright red.

The village is about five miles west of Newton Abbot, on the River Lemon. The church is 15th century; its lychgate has a room over it.

It is one of the largest parishes in the county, and includes the villages of Ilsington, Haytor Vale, Liverton and South Knighton. The parish is surrounded, clockwise from the north, by the parishes of Bovey Tracey, Teigngrace (a short border only), Newton Abbot, Ogwell (another short border), Bickington, Ashburton, Widecombe-in-the-Moor and Manaton. In 2001 the population of the parish was 2,444, greatly increased from the 886 residents recorded in 1901. The parish is represented in parliament by Mel Stride, as part of the Central Devon constituency.

Ashburton is a town on the south-southeastern edge of Dartmoor in Devon, England, adjacent to the A38. The town is 20 miles (32 km) northeast of Plymouth and 17 miles (27 km) southwest of Exeter. It was formerly important as a stannary town (a centre for the administration of tin-mining), and remains the largest town within the national park. Ashburton has five pubs within the centre of town and five restaurants/cafés. The town is also part of the electoral ward named Ashburton and Buckfastleigh, the population of which at the 2011 census was 7,718.

Ashburn is a river in the Dartmoor moors in Devon in south-west England, flowing through the Ashburton valley to the River Dart. The River Ashburn is a small river on Dartmoor, rising near Rippon Tor, flowing through the town of Ashburton and joining with the river Dart near Buckfastleigh. The source of the river is on Horridge Common at a height of 365 metres. The River Ashburn flows quickly down a step river valley through woods and under stone bridges before coming into Ashburton on the north side of town and passing by Ashburton Town Hall, then turning west and heading out of town via the town park, next to the A38 road before joining the River Dart. It is a typical, fast flowing, clean Dartmoor river.
