Pressburg Yeshiva of Jerusalem (Hebrew: ישיבת פרשבורג) is a leading yeshiva located in the Givat Shaul neighborhood of Jerusalem. It was founded in 1950 by Rabbi Akiva Sofer (known as the Daas Sofer), a great-grandson of Rabbi Moses Sofer (the Chasam Sofer), who established the original Pressburg Yeshiva in the Austro-Hungarian Empire in 1807. As of 2009, the rosh yeshiva is Rabbi Simcha Bunim Sofer. After his death in 2017, his son Rabbi Avraham Shmuel Binyamin Sofer-Schreiber, who also serves as rosh kollel, succeeded him.The yeshiva building includes a yeshiva ketana, yeshiva gedola, and kollel. The main beis medrash doubles as a synagogue where some neighborhood residents also pray on Shabbat. The complex also includes a general neighborhood synagogue which functions as Givat Shaul's main nusach Ashkenaz synagogue.

The Diskin Orphanage was an orphanage in the Old City of Jerusalem, established in 1881 by Yehoshua Leib Diskin. From the Jewish Quarter, it moved to Street of the Prophets outside the walls of the Old City. In 1927, it moved to a new building in the Kiryat Moshe neighborhood, near the main entrance to the city from the west.

Lifta (Arabic: لفتا; Hebrew: ליפתא) was a Palestinian Arab village on the outskirts of Jerusalem. The village was depopulated during the early part of the 1947–1948 civil war in Mandatory Palestine. In July 2017, Israel declared Lifta (called Mei Neftoach) as a national nature reserve. It has been referred to as the "Palestinian Pompeii".

Mercaz HaRav (officially, Hebrew: מרכז הרב - הישיבה המרכזית העולמית, "The Center of Rabbi [Kook] - the Central Universal Yeshiva") is a national-religious yeshiva in Jerusalem, founded in 1924 by Ashkenazi Chief Rabbi Abraham Isaac Kook. Located in the city's Kiryat Moshe neighborhood, it has become the most prominent religious-Zionist yeshiva in the world and synonymous with Rabbi Kook's teachings. Many Religious Zionist educators and leaders have studied at Mercaz HaRav.

On 6 March 2008, a lone Palestinian gunman shot multiple students at the Mercaz HaRav yeshiva, a religious school in West Jerusalem. Eight students and the assailant were killed. Eleven more were wounded, five of them placed in serious to critical condition.The attack began at 8:30 p.m. local time and ended sixteen minutes later. The attacker was stopped by long-time Mercaz HaRav student Yitzhak Dadon and off-duty Israel Defense Forces Captain David Shapira, who killed the perpetrator with their personal firearms.The attack itself was praised by Hamas and, according to a subsequent poll, was supported by 84 percent of the Palestinian population, the highest result showing support for violence in 15 years, which the pollster concluded was the result of recent actions by Israel in Gaza and the West Bank. It was condemned in official statements by various countries around the world.

Yashlatz (Hebrew: ישל"צ, acronym for ישיבת ירושלים לצעירים‎ Yeshivat Yerushalayim L’Tzeirim, "Jerusalem Yeshiva for Youth") is a religious Zionist yeshiva high school in Jerusalem. It was founded in 1964 by a student of the Orthodox rabbi Tzvi Yehuda HaCohen Kook to teach teenage boys in the Mercaz Harav community.

The Chords Bridge (Hebrew: גשר המיתרים, Gesher HaMeitarim), also called the Bridge of Strings or Jerusalem Light Rail Bridge, is a side-spar cable-stayed bridge in Jerusalem. The structure was designed by the Spanish architect and engineer Santiago Calatrava and is used by Jerusalem Light Rail's Red Line, which began service on August 19, 2011. Incorporated in the bridge is a glass-sided pedestrian bridge enabling pedestrians to cross from Kiryat Moshe to the Jerusalem Central Bus Station. The bridge, which cost about $70 million (NIS 246 million), was inaugurated on June 25, 2008.

The Jerusalem Gate Hotel is a hotel located at the western entrance to Jerusalem, Israel. The hotel is attached to the shopping mall, Centre One. The hotel was constructed in 1988 by Heftsiba. In April 2006, the hotel was bought by American investor Morris Wilner.The hotel focuses on the Haredi, and Orthodox Jewish demographic. To this end the hotel has a mikvah on site.

Kiryat Moshe (Hebrew: קריית משה) is a neighborhood in Jerusalem, named for the British Jewish philanthropist Moses Montefiore. Kiryat Moshe is bordered by Givat Shaul.

Givat Shaul (Hebrew: גבעת שאול, lit. (Saul's Hill); Arabic: غفعات شاؤول) is a neighborhood in West Jerusalem. The neighborhood is located at the western entrance to the city, east of the neighborhood of Har Nof and north of Kiryat Moshe. Givat Shaul stands 820 meters above sea level.

The Jerusalem Gateway (Hebrew: רובע מבוא העיר, Rova Mevo HaIr or Hebrew: קרית אריאל שרון Kiryat Ariel Sharon) is a project for improving and developing the area that is the main entrance to Jerusalem from Tel Aviv and the coast. The project will connect the Jerusalem Central Bus Station, the terminal of the Tel Aviv to Jerusalem railroad, the Jerusalem Light Rail, and the Jerusalem Chords Bridge improving the main entrance to Jerusalem from the west. The program is designed to further the establishment of commercial and residential construction, including construction of two high-rise buildings to expand International Convention Center. All Israel Broadcasting Authority Studios will be concentrated in a new building on the site of "the old Shaare Zedek Hospital" (IBA Complex) Apple Inc. in cooperation with the Jerusalem Municipality plans to build the first digital library in the world on the first new commercial boulevard to be established next to Mishkenot Hauma neighborhood. A total of 13 high-rise buildings was being projected as of 2011, of which 12 would be commercial and one residential. The project was approved by municipal authorities in 2012. Municipal authorities are hoping that the new development sparks growth in the city's high-tech industry. The name Gateway was suggested by Moshe Beigel of the Jerusalem language company talk in March 2016. Construction program is the main entrance to Jerusalem as a complementary project to Kiryat HaLeom located just south.
