Onehunga High School is a state co-educational secondary school in the Auckland suburb of Onehunga, New Zealand. The school incorporates a business school, founded by Just Water International's creator Tony Falkenstein, which is sponsored by brewery company Lion Nathan and a construction school sponsored by Fletcher Construction, making it unique among New Zealand secondary schools. The school attracts students from the suburbs of Onehunga, Māngere Bridge, Hillsborough, and Royal Oak and accepts a limited number of students from outside its zone.

The Onehunga Blockhouse is a historic blockhouse located in the suburb of Onehunga in Auckland, New Zealand within the bounds of Jellicoe Park. Built in 1860 as a defence strongpost during the New Zealand Wars, it is currently owned by the Onehunga Fencible and Historical Society.

Marcellin College is a Catholic, integrated, co-educational college in Royal Oak, Auckland, New Zealand for students in Year 7 to Year 13. The college was founded by the Marist Brothers in 1958 as a school for boys only. The school follows the values of Marist education, which was formed by the name of the school and patron saint, St Marcellin Champagnat. The school is located on grounds which had been part of the Pah estate. It has an extensive woodland on its southern and western boundaries. Most of the former Pah estate contiguous with Marcellin College is now owned by the Auckland Council and is maintained as a park known as "Monte Cecilia Park." The Auckland Franciscan Friary and Retreat Centre is just across Monte Cecilia Park from the college. A Discalced Carmelite Monastery (under the patronage of the Holy Family and St Thomas, Apostle) is directly opposite the college on Mt Albert Rd.

Monte Cecilia Park is located in the Auckland suburb of Hillsborough, close to its boundary with Royal Oak. The park's landscape showcases a diverse variety of mature exotic plants as well as native New Zealand flora.

Onehunga Primary School is a historic former school located in Onehunga and registered as a category 1 building. Constructed in 1901 as a district school before becoming a district high school, it later served as a primary school until the school moved to a new site in 1982. Initially planned to be demolished the local community had the building saved and it has become a community centre.

The Pah Homestead is a historic home located in the suburb of Hillsborough in Auckland, New Zealand. It is owned by the Auckland Council, and is currently used as an art gallery, housing the James Wallace Art Trust's collection of New Zealand art. Since opening in August 2010, the gallery has attracted over 410,000 visitors, including 130,000 in its first year

Stardome Observatory (IAU observatory code 467, previously known as Auckland Observatory) is a public astronomical observatory situated in Maungakiekie/One Tree Hill Domain in Auckland, New Zealand. Founded in 1967, the observatory is administered by the Auckland Observatory and Planetarium Trust Board. The Trust Board was created by the Auckland Astronomical Society (AAS) in 1956. The society is now based at the observatory.

Onehunga is a suburb of Auckland in New Zealand and the location of the Port of Onehunga, the city's small port on the Manukau Harbour. It is eight kilometres (five miles) south of the city centre, close to the volcanic cone of Maungakiekie / One Tree Hill. Onehunga is a residential and light-industrial suburb. There are almost 1,000 commercial and industrial businesses in the area. Onehunga stretches south from Royal Oak to the northern shore of the Manukau Harbour. To the east are the areas of Oranga and Te Papapa; to the west, Hillsborough. On the southern shore of the Manukau Harbour, and linked to Onehunga by two bridges, is the suburb of Māngere Bridge.

St Peter's Anglican Church is a Selwyn church in Auckland, New Zealand. The church is located in the suburb of Onehunga, on the corner of Onehunga Mall Road and Church Street. It is one of Auckland's first churches, with the site being allocated in 1847 and construction completed in 1848. Situated next to the church is a cemetery which houses the gravesites of many of the area's fencible colonial settlers including the first woman Mayor of the British Empire, Elizabeth Yates.
