The Tainan Children's Science Museum (TCSM; traditional Chinese: 台南市兒童科學館; simplified Chinese: 台南市儿童科学馆; pinyin: Táinán Shì Értóng Kēxuéguǎn) is a museum in North District, Tainan, Taiwan.

National Cheng Kung University (NCKU; Chinese: 國立成功大學) is a public research university located in Tainan, Taiwan. The university is best known for engineering, computer science, medicine, and design programs. NCKU played a role in creating the Taiwan Miracle by helping Taiwan to transform from an agriculture-based society to an industrialized economy during the 1960s and 1970s, and further becoming one of the Four Asian Tigers. NCKU has been taking the top spot at the Global Views Monthly (遠見雜誌) Taiwan Graduate Employability Rankings for 6 consecutive years.In 2005, NCKU was chosen by the Ministry of Education (Taiwan) as one of the seven universities in Taiwan for the Aim for the Top University Project (邁向頂尖大學計畫), which is similar to Top Global University Project in Japan and Universities of Excellence in Germany. Starting from 2006, because of its academic performance and research potential, the Ministry of Education (Taiwan) has offered NCKU NT$1.7 billion annually for five consecutive years, which is the second highest amount received among the universities in the project.NCKU is a founding member of Taiwan Comprehensive University System, a strategic alliance of four leading research universities in the Southern Taiwan. The university is also a member of AACSB and IEET, and the only member from Taiwan in the Worldwide Universities Network.

Tainan (Chinese: 台南; pinyin: Táinán) is a railway station in Tainan, Taiwan served by Taiwan Railways Administration. Situated in centre of the old town square of Tainan, Tainan Station is the main station of the city and also one of the major stations along the western trunk line in Taiwan. The Shalun line, opened in 2011, allows through services to link the station with THSR Tainan Station.

The Shangri-La's Far Eastern Plaza Hotel Tainan (Chinese: 香格里拉台南遠東國際大飯店; pinyin: Xiānggélǐlā táinán yuǎndōng guójì dà fàndiàn), is skyscraper hotel completed in 1993 in East District, Tainan, Taiwan. It is one of the earliest skyscrapers in Tainan and as of December 2020, it is still the tallest building in the city. The architectural height of the building is 140 m (460 ft) with its antenna reaching 153 m (502 ft), and it comprises 38 floors above ground, as well as six basement levels, with a floor area of around 70,000 m2 (750,000 sq ft).The lower floors of the building houses the Far Eastern Department Store and the upper floors houses a hotel, which is managed by the Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts. The hotel has a total of 331 rooms and 5 restaurants and bars and is one of the top luxury hotels in Tainan. This is Shangri-La's one of two bases in Taiwan, with the other base being located in Far Eastern Plaza in Taipei.

The grounds were initially a residence for Zheng Jing, the ruler of Kingdom of Tungning and the son of Koxinga (Zheng Chenggong), until the kingdom's downfall and subsequent transformation into a temple.

Focus Square (Chinese: Focus時尚流行館) is a shopping mall in West Central District, Tainan, Taiwan that opened in December 2000. The mall consists of 13 floors above ground and 5 floors below ground. In 2016, the entire mall underwent a major renovation, including the exterior walls, which were painted black. The main core stores of the mall includes Vieshow Cinemas on the top three floors and World Gym on the basement floors.

The National Tainan First Senior High School (Chinese: 國立臺南第一高級中學; pinyin: Guólì Táinán Dìyī Gāojí Zhōngxué) is a public senior high school in East District, Tainan, Taiwan. It was established in 1922 and is considered one of the most prestigious high schools in Taiwan, usually only accepting students who rank in the top 3 percentage of the Taiwan Basic Scholastic Test.
