The Tainan Flower Night Market (Chinese: 花園夜市; pinyin: Huāyuán Yè Shì; lit. 'Garden Night Market') is a tourism night market in North District, Tainan, Taiwan. It is often considered to be the largest and most famous night market in the city. It is said that "South is Flower, Middle is Fengjia, North is Shihlin".

The Tainan Children's Science Museum (TCSM; traditional Chinese: 台南市兒童科學館; simplified Chinese: 台南市儿童科学馆; pinyin: Táinán Shì Értóng Kēxuéguǎn) is a museum in North District, Tainan, Taiwan.

The National Tainan Second Senior High School (TNSSH; Chinese: 國立臺南第二高級中學) is a senior high school in North District, Tainan, Taiwan. It was established in May 1914 during the period of Japanese rule. It was the first senior high school in middle and southern Taiwan. The school is one of the most prestigious high schools in the city. As for the recent high school entry exam, which is mandatory for a student in Taiwan for attending high school, a student must have the top 10-11% mark in the test in order to gain admission to the school.

The Chiayi Cultural and Creative Industries Park (Chinese: 臺南文化創意產業園區; pinyin: Táinán Wénhuà Chuàngyì Chǎnyè Yuánqū) is a multi-purpose park in North District, Tainan, Taiwan.

Fort Provintia or Providentia, also known as Chihkan Tower (Chinese: 赤嵌樓; pinyin: Chìkǎnlóu; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: Chhiah-khám-lâu), was a Dutch outpost on Formosa at a site now located in West Central District, Tainan, Taiwan. It was built in 1653 during the Dutch colonization of Taiwan. The Dutch, intending to strengthen their standing, sited the fort at Sakam, about 2 miles (3.2 km) due east from modern-day Anping. During the Siege of Fort Zeelandia (1662), the fort was surrendered to Koxinga, but was later destroyed by a rebellion and earthquakes in the 18th century. It was rebuilt afterwards in the 19th century under Qing rule.The fort's name derives from the Taiwanese aboriginal village recorded by the Dutch as Sakam, which has developed into the modern-day Tainan. After growth in size and trade, the Chinese called it Chhiah-kham, and surrounded it with high brick walls. It eventually became the capital of the whole island under the name of Taiwan-fu.In addition to the site's architectural and artistic significance, its library of dictionaries and business transactions documents the Siraya language spoken by the native inhabitants of the region during Dutch rule. The fort is up for redevelopment which will see it turned into a museum. The project is led by Taiwanese architecture studio HOU x LIN, the two partners of which both have a connection to The Netherlands. The project should be finished by 2024 in time for the celebration of the 400 year old relationship of the two countries.

National Cheng Kung University (NCKU; Chinese: 國立成功大學) is a public research university located in Tainan, Taiwan. The university is best known for engineering, computer science, medicine, and design programs. NCKU played a role in creating the Taiwan Miracle by helping Taiwan to transform from an agriculture-based society to an industrialized economy during the 1960s and 1970s, and further becoming one of the Four Asian Tigers. NCKU has been taking the top spot at the Global Views Monthly (遠見雜誌) Taiwan Graduate Employability Rankings for 6 consecutive years.In 2005, NCKU was chosen by the Ministry of Education (Taiwan) as one of the seven universities in Taiwan for the Aim for the Top University Project (邁向頂尖大學計畫), which is similar to Top Global University Project in Japan and Universities of Excellence in Germany. Starting from 2006, because of its academic performance and research potential, the Ministry of Education (Taiwan) has offered NCKU NT$1.7 billion annually for five consecutive years, which is the second highest amount received among the universities in the project.NCKU is a founding member of Taiwan Comprehensive University System, a strategic alliance of four leading research universities in the Southern Taiwan. The university is also a member of AACSB and IEET, and the only member from Taiwan in the Worldwide Universities Network.

Tainan metropolitan area (Chinese: 臺南都會區; pinyin: Táinán Dūhuì Qū) is the urban area of Tainan City in southern Taiwan.

The Grand Matsu Temple (Chinese: 大天后宫; pinyin: Dàtiān Hòugōng), also known as the Datianhou or Great Queen of Heaven Temple, is a temple to the Chinese Goddess Mazu, who is the Goddess of Sea and Patron Deity of fishermen, sailors and any occupations related to sea/ocean. The temple is located in the West Central District of Tainan on Taiwan. It is open seven days a week, with free admission.

State Temple of the Martial God, also called Tainan Sacrificial Rites Martial Temple (Chinese: 祀典武廟; pinyin: Sìdiǎn Wǔmiào) or Grand Guandi Temple, is a temple located in Yongfu Road, West Central District, Tainan, Taiwan. This temple was previously the palace of Koxinga and Prince of Ningjing, members of the Ming imperial family who retreated to Taiwan in the dying days of the Ming dynasty. The temple is dedicated to the deity Guan Gong, whose statue in the building was brought to Taiwan from Fujian Province, China, by relatives of the Prince of Ningjing during the Ming dynasty. There are some minor temples as well: Two smaller temples of Guanyin, a Buddhist fertility goddess. The temple of Yue Lao, where single people pray for luck to find their soulmate. A horse god temple located across Yong-Fu Road.The horse god takes the form of a soldier who looks after the horses. Since Guan Gong was always assisted in his work by horses, his followers built this temple to show their respect and appreciation.

Tainan (Chinese: 台南; pinyin: Táinán) is a railway station in Tainan, Taiwan served by Taiwan Railways Administration. Situated in centre of the old town square of Tainan, Tainan Station is the main station of the city and also one of the major stations along the western trunk line in Taiwan. The Shalun line, opened in 2011, allows through services to link the station with THSR Tainan Station.

National Tainan Institute of Nursing; National Tainan Junior College of Nursing (NTJCN; Chinese: 國立臺南護理專科學校; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: Kok-li̍p Tâi-lâm Hō͘-lí Choan-kho Ha̍k-hāu) is a public college in West Central, Tainan, Taiwan. NTJCN offers several academic programs, including a two-year Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) program and a four-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program. The courses cover a wide range of topics, including anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, nursing ethics, patient care, and community health.

Focus Square (Chinese: Focus時尚流行館) is a shopping mall in West Central District, Tainan, Taiwan that opened in December 2000. The mall consists of 13 floors above ground and 5 floors below ground. In 2016, the entire mall underwent a major renovation, including the exterior walls, which were painted black. The main core stores of the mall includes Vieshow Cinemas on the top three floors and World Gym on the basement floors.
