Spilsby is a market town and civil parish in the East Lindsey district of Lincolnshire, England. The town is adjacent to the main A16, 33 miles (53 km) east of Lincoln, 17 miles (27 km) north-east of Boston and 13 miles (21 km) north-west of Skegness. It lies at the southern edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds and north of the Fenlands. The town has been a rural market town for more than 700 years. It has changed little in size since the beginning of the 19th century. The town centre includes a range of small supermarkets, banks, traditional newsagents, baker, butchers, jewellers and clothing stores, together with public houses, cafes and fast-food takeaways. At the centre of town is an open square or traditional market place, from which the four main town streets radiate. Markets take place on a Monday. As Spilsby is located within a predominantly agricultural area, much of the market produce consists of locally grown vegetables and meat. The population of the town was 2,336 in the 2001 census, increasing to 3,045 at the 2011 Census.

Spilsby railway station was a railway station in the market town of Spilsby, Lincolnshire, England. The station stood on a four mile long branch line between Spilsby and Firsby Junction, where it connected with the main line from Cleethorpes to London, and was opened on 1 May 1868. However, traffic on the line soon slumped, and the line was bought by the Great Northern Railway in 1890. In 1939 passenger services on the line were suspended, leaving only a goods service which itself ceased in 1958, when the railway station and line were closed.

King Edward VI Academy (formerly King Edward VI Humanities College) is a coeducational bi-lateral secondary school and sixth form with academy status, located in Spilsby, Lincolnshire, England, for children between the ages of eleven and eighteen. The bi-lateral status is not common, with less than five such schools remaining in England and Wales, but effectively means that any local children who pass the Lincolnshire 11-plus examination and select King Edward VI Academy will receive a grammar school education, but the school also accepts children who have not passed the 11-plus and they will instead receive a separate secondary modern education but under the same roof and from the same teaching staffs and management team. Subject to a child's individual performance, during their time at the school, re-streaming between the bi-lateral poles is possible although rare and offers a borderline or later developing child a chance of achieving a grammar school education. The school is an amalgamation of two separate institutions, the King Edward VI Grammar School opened in 1550 and the Sir John Franklin Secondary Modern School, which opened in 1954. These schools were combined in 1991 as Spilsby High School, initially retaining both sites. The school has provided sixth form education for the over 16s since September 2008, with provision of study for a BTec National Diploma Studies in Business Studies.

Spilsby was a rural district in Lincolnshire, parts of Lindsey from 1894 to 1974. It was created by the Local Government Act 1894 from the Spilsby rural sanitary district. Due to growth in other areas, it was reduced three times: in 1896 when Alford was constituted an urban district; in 1925 when the civil parish of Sutton in the Marsh became part of Mablethorpe and Sutton Urban District; and in 1926, when the neighbouring Skegness Urban District was extended. In 1936 a County Review Order enlarged the district when it absorbed the former Sibsey Rural District. It survived until 1974. Under the Local Government Act 1972, it was merged with other districts to form the new East Lindsey district.

Hundleby is a village and civil parish in the East Lindsey district of Lincolnshire, England. The village is a suburb of the market town of Spilsby. Hundleby is listed in the Domesday Book of 1086 as "Hundelbi", with Ivo Tallboys (Ivo Tallebois) as Lord of the Manor. This was long an agricultural area, a centre for sugar beet production. The Anglican church, which is a Grade II listed building, is dedicated to Saint Mary. The 14th-century medieval church was mostly torn down in 1854-55 and reconstructed using the original greenstone. Only the base of the tower and nave remain of the former church. Spilsby Union Workhouse was built in Hundleby in 1837, to designs by George Gilbert Scott. After 1930 it became a Public Assistance Institution. In 1948 it was converted to the Gables Hospital providing geriatric care. It was eventually closed and demolished. An electoral ward of the same name stretches north to Swaby, containing 2,107 people as of the 2011 Census.

Toynton All Saints is a village and civil parish in the East Lindsey district of Lincolnshire, England, about 1.5 miles (2.4 km) south of the town of Spilsby. Toynton All Saints, and its neighbours, the village of Toynton St Peter and the hamlet of Toynton Fen Side, which lies directly south of Toynton All Saints, are listed three times in Domesday Book of 1086, jointly as "Toantun" so it is not possible to distinguish which entry referred to which place. As a whole, "Toantun" consisted of 78 households and had a church.A medieval pottery kiln and clay pits were recorded during excavations at The Roses, a field in Toynton All Saints, during the 1950s. The kiln was archaeomagnetically dated from 1275 to 1300. Jugs, tiles, water pipes and varieties of domestic pots were found.The parish church is Grade II listed and dedicated to All Saints. It dates from the 18th century and built of red brick, with late 19th-century alterations. The octagonal font is 14th-century with a 19th-century restored base.A Wesleyan Methodist chapel was built in 1860, extended in 1939 and again in 2001.A tower windmill was built in the early 19th century, and is Grade II listed. It was converted to a house and extended in the 20th century.A rectory, built in 1872, was owned by The Bishop of Lincoln.Toynton All Saints has a primary school.The village was the home of folklorist, Ethel Rudkin, in the latter part of her life. Rudkin was a collector, as well as an archaeologist and writer, her most notable work is the book Lincolnshire Folklore.

Partney is a small village and civil parish in the East Lindsey district of Lincolnshire, England. It is situated 3 miles (4.8 km) north of Spilsby, and in the Lincolnshire Wolds. The village was the birthplace of Henry Stubbe, the noted 17th-century Intellectual. Partney is at the intersection of the A16 and A158 roads. A village bypass diverts the road to Skegness, Ingoldmells, Chapel St. Leonards and Louth. Public transport is provided by the Stagecoach bus service number 56 which runs from Lincoln to Skegness.

Toynton St Peter is a village and civil parish in the East Lindsey district of Lincolnshire, England, approximately 2 miles (3 km) south from the town of Spilsby. Toynton St Peter, and its neighbours Toynton All Saints, and Toynton Fenside are listed three times in the Domesday Book of 1086, jointly as "Toantun" so it is not possible to distinguish which entry referred to which place. As a whole, "Toantun" consisted of 78 households and had a church.The parish church is a Grade II listed building dedicated to Saint Peter and dating from the 14th century, although it was rebuilt in 1876 by James Fowler of Louth. It was built of greenstone and limestonewith some brick patching. It has a 15th-century tower and a 14th-century font.In the churchyard is the base of a 14th-century churchyard cross which is both Grade II listed and a scheduled monument.A Wesleyan Methodist chapel was built in 1811. The chapel is now closed and an application for planning permission to convert it into a dwelling was refused.The parish has a village hall.

Halton Holegate Railway Station is a former station in Halton Holegate, Lincolnshire. It was on a short branch from Firsby to Spilsby.

Dalby is a village and civil parish in the East Lindsey district of Lincolnshire, England. It is situated approximately 3 miles (5 km) north from the town of Spilsby. It is in the civil parish of Sausthorpe. Dalby church is dedicated to Saint Lawrence and Bishop Edward King, and is a Grade II listed building built in 1862 by James Fowler of Louth to replace an earlier church. The font dates from the 14th century. Dalby Hall is a Grade II listed house dating from the 18th century. The original Dalby Hall was destroyed by fire in 1841 and the present Hall was rebuilt nearby in 1856, also by James Fowler. The hamlet of Dexthorpe is considered a deserted medieval village (DMV), first mentioned in 1086, and again in 1334. By 1577 there was just a pasture of two acres, a church, and a parsonage.

Toynton Fen Side is a hamlet and linear settlement on Fenside Road in the East Lindsey district of Lincolnshire, England. The hamlet is partly in the civil parish of Toynton St Peter, and that of Toynton All Saints. Toynton Fen Side is situated 12 miles (19 km) north from Boston and 11 miles (18 km) west from Skegness. The East Fen Catchwater Drain crosses west to east at the south of the hamlet. Bus services connect Toynton Fen Side with Horncastle, Partney, Wainfleet, Boston, Mablethorpe, and Spilsby. Businesses include garage services and a fencing suppliers. According to trade directories Toynton Fen Side is a centre for growing wheat, barley, potatoes and beans, and has rich pasture land. The settlement was historically under the lordship of the Willoughby de Eresby Barony; in 1855, Peter Drummond-Burrell; in 1885, Clementina Drummond-Willoughby. There was a publican of The Wheatsheaf public house in 1855. A farmer and a publican was mentioned in 1872, where the publican was also a grocer. In 1933 there were two farmers, a smallholder, and a shopkeeper. There was a Primitive Methodist Chapel, dating to 1867, in the Toynton All Saints part of the hamlet. The chapel was variously in the Louth, Spilsby, and Leake Circuits.
