SkyCity (originally known as the Eye of the Needle) was a revolving restaurant and bar situated atop the Space Needle in Seattle, Washington, United States. It featured a 14-foot-deep (4.3 m) carousel (or ring-shaped) dining floor on which sat patrons' tables, chairs, and dining booths. Its floor revolved on a track and wheel system weighing roughly 125 tons, moving at a rate of one revolution every 47 minutes. It was the oldest operating revolving restaurant in the world at the time of its closure. Due to the balance and precision of its design, the floor's rotation is accomplished using just a single 1½-horsepower motor.The restaurant was designed by John Graham & Company and styled after the La Ronde they had built atop the Ala Moana Center in 1963. SkyCity was a fine dining restaurant with a casual dress code and served Pacific Northwest cuisine and new American cuisine, providing local seafood, steak, chicken and vegetarian items among others.The restaurant was closed in September 2017 for the $100 million "The Century Project" renovation at the Space Needle, with plans for the dining area to be outfitted with a clear glass floor. The glass floor would enable diners to view the city below them and also the mechanics that operate the revolving floor. When completed, SkyCity was to have the world's first revolving restaurant with a glass floor. It was replaced with the Loupe Lounge, a cocktail lounge that opened in the restaurant's former space on April 9, 2021.

The Space Needle is an observation tower in Seattle, Washington, United States. Considered to be an icon of the city, it has been designated a Seattle landmark. Located in the Lower Queen Anne neighborhood, it was built in the Seattle Center for the 1962 World's Fair, which drew over 2.3 million visitors. The Space Needle was once the tallest structure west of the Mississippi River, standing at 605 ft (184 m). The tower is 138 ft (42 m) wide, weighs 9,550 short tons (8,660 metric tons), and is built to withstand winds of up to 200 mph (320 km/h) and earthquakes of up to 9.0 magnitude, as strong as the 1700 Cascadia earthquake. The Space Needle features an observation deck 520 ft (160 m) above ground, providing views of the downtown Seattle skyline, the Olympic and Cascade Mountains, Mount Rainier, Mount Baker, Elliott Bay, and various islands in Puget Sound. Visitors can reach the top of the Space Needle by elevators. It takes 41 seconds to reach the top in the elevators. On April 19, 1999, the city's Landmarks Preservation Board designated the tower a historic landmark.

Black Lightning is a 1981 stainless steel sculpture by Ronald Bladen, installed at Seattle Center, in the U.S. state of Washington.

The Chris Cornell memorial statue is a bronze sculpture depicting late Soundgarden vocalist Chris Cornell created by sculptor and special effects artist Nick Marra. It is installed outside the Museum of Pop Culture on the Seattle Center grounds, in the U.S. state of Washington. It was first displayed to the public on October 7, 2018. The life-size statue shows the musician holding a guitar. It was donated to the museum in by Cornell's widow, Vicky Cornell.The statue was vandalized in August 2020.

Chihuly Garden and Glass is an exhibit in the Seattle Center directly next to the Space Needle, showcasing the studio glass of Dale Chihuly. It opened in May 2012 at the former site of the defunct Fun Forest amusement park.The project features three primary components: the Garden, the Glasshouse, and the Interior Exhibits, with significant secondary spaces including a 90-seat café with additional outdoor dining, a 50-seat multi-use theater and lecture space, retail and lobby spaces, and extensive public site enhancements beyond the Garden. The 100-foot-long installation inside of the Glasshouse is one of Chihuly's largest suspended sculptures. Designed with the help of architect Owen Richards, the facility was awarded LEED silver certification from the USGBC.

TheFilmSchool is a non-profit film program located in Seattle, Washington, that focuses on intensive training in screenwriting and directing. TheFilmSchool's mission statement 'to elevate the art of cinematic storytelling' guides the curriculum to heavily emphasize character, structure, and understanding the principles of storytelling. The program was founded in 2003 by Stewart Stern, John Jacobsen, Rick Stevenson, Warren Etheredge, and Tom Skerritt.

Grass Blades is a 2002 sculpture by John Fleming, r/b/f architecture, and Susan Zoccola, installed in Seattle Center, in the U.S. state of Washington.

Sonic Bloom is a 2013 solar-powered sculpture by Dan Corson, installed in Seattle's Pacific Science Center, in the U.S. state of Washington. Bellamy Pailthorp wrote, "It looks a bit like something you might find in a book by Dr. Seuss: five huge sculpted sunflowers with striped green and orange stems."

Horiuchi Mural, also known as Seattle Mural, is a mural by Paul Horiuchi in Seattle Center, in Seattle, Washington. It was commissioned for the Century 21 Exposition (1962) and was billed as the largest artwork in the Pacific Northwest. The mural measures 60 feet by 17 feet. It was originally installed over a reflecting pool and now serves as a backdrop for Mural Amphitheatre, an outdoor film and performance venue that has hosted numerous musical events. The venue also hosted KING-TV's weekly program Seattle Center Hootenanny. Horiuchi traveled to Venice to prepare for the mural. A restoration of the mural was completed in 2011. It is a designated landmark.

Olympic Iliad, also known as Pasta Tube, is a 1984 steel sculpture by Alexander Liberman, located in the lawn surrounding the Space Needle at Seattle Center in Seattle, Washington, United States. The work includes large steel cylinders cut at different angles and lengths, painted red. The sculpture is similar to Liberman's Iliad, located at the Storm King Art Center in Mountainville, New York. It is featured on the cover of Brazilian musician Amon Tobin's album Bricolage.

The Seattle Center Armory is a building in Seattle Center, in the U.S. state of Washington. The building has housed the Center House Theater, The Center High School, and the Seattle Children's Museum.

The Century 21 Exposition (also known as the Seattle World's Fair) was a world's fair held April 21, 1962, to October 21, 1962, in the American city of Seattle, Washington. Nearly 10 million people attended the fair.As planned, the exposition left behind a fairground and numerous public buildings and public works; some credit it with revitalizing Seattle's economic and cultural life (see History of Seattle since 1940). The fair saw the construction of the Space Needle and Alweg monorail, as well as several sports venues (Washington State Coliseum, now Climate Pledge Arena) and performing arts buildings (the Playhouse, now the Cornish Playhouse), most of which have since been replaced or heavily remodeled. Unlike some other world's fairs of its era, Century 21 made a profit. The site, slightly expanded since the fair, is now called Seattle Center; the United States Science Pavilion is now the Pacific Science Center. Another notable Seattle Center building, the Museum of Pop Culture (earlier called EMP Museum), was built nearly 40 years later and designed to fit in with the fairground atmosphere.
