Toulouse Aerospace

Toulouse-Montaudran Airport is a former French airport located in the district of Montaudran in the municipality of Toulouse in the Haute-Garonne department of the region of Occitanie.

The Halle de La Machine is a museum in the Montaudran suburb of Toulouse, France. It houses animatronic and interactive exhibits constructed by La Machine.

École nationale de l'aviation civile (ENAC) (National School of Civil Aviation) is one of 205 colleges (as of September 2018) accredited to award engineering degrees in France. ENAC is designated as a grande école by the Conférence des Grandes écoles (CGE), a non-profit organisation which certifies and monitors grandes écoles (including engineering colleges). ENAC was founded on 28 August 1949 to provide initial and continuing education in the field of civil aviation. The school is an établissement public à caractère scientifique, culturel et professionnel (a public scientific, cultural or professional establishment), and operates under the oversight of the Ministry of Ecological Transition. Affiliated with the University of Toulouse and Aerospace Valley, it is one of the five founders of France AEROTECH.ENAC offers 30 engineering and technical programs in civil aviation and aeronautics. Programs include aerospace engineering, aircraft maintenance, commercial airline piloting, air traffic control, and flight instructor. The college also offers three Master of Science programs and 12 Advanced Master programs for students with relevant experience.

The Aeronautical literary festival (in French : Salon du livre aéronautique) is a trade fair devoted to aeronautical books and writing created in 2009 and organized each year in Toulouse (campus of ENAC) by the École nationale de l'aviation civile and the ENAC Alumni association.The event welcomes both large and small publishers and representatives of the book industry. Its originality is to be open to professionals and general public. On one day, numerous meetings are organized with writers, authors, designers, ... The diversity of participants, book signings, discussion topics and activities have helped to make this appointment a great cultural and festive time.

The L'Envol des pionniers (English: The Flight of the Pioneers), is a French aerospace museum which retraces the great adventure of Aéropostale and contributes to the memory of aeronautics in Toulouse. It is located in the Montaudran district and has been inaugurated on 22 December 2018, almost 100 years to the day after the inaugural flight of the first civilian flight to Barcelona.

The Toulouse School of Aviation and Aerospace Engineering or TSAAE is an aerospace engineering college located in Toulouse, France. It is a French Groupement d'intérêt public and part of the University of Toulouse. It has been established in June 2025 as a result of a collaboration between ENAC and ISAE-SUPAERO. This joint venture is a public interest group and bring together specialized international training, research, and innovation. Leveraging their complementary expertise and shared values, ENAC and ISAE-SUPAERO aspire to make this engineering school a global center for aerospace. Currently, nearly 600 international students are enrolled in these programs at the two schools based in Toulouse. TSAAE has an aerospace and air transport research laboratory, TSAAE LAB, as well as an incubator dedicated to entrepreneurship.

The Institut Supérieur de l'Aéronautique et de l'Espace (ISAE-SUPAERO; English: National Higher French Institute of Aeronautics and Space) is a French grande école of engineering, founded in 1909. It was the world's first dedicated aerospace engineering school and is considered to be the best in Europe in the field. The school delivers a range of science and engineering degree programs. ISAE-SUPAERO is part of University of Toulouse, ISSAT, PEGASUS, GEA, Toulouse Tech, CESAER and Aerospace Valley. Historically ISAE-SUPAERO resulted from the merger between SUPAERO and ENSICA in the summer of 2007. The aim of this move was to increase the international visibility of SUPAERO and the ENSICA (both of which depend on the French Ministry of Defense), by sharing their faculty and experimental means. In 2011, ISAE founded Groupe ISAE with the engineering school, ENSMA. In 2012, Groupe ISAE was joined by ESTACA and by l’Ecole de l’Air. The Institute also delivers continuing education through its subsidiary, EUROSAE. Since its founding in 1909 ISAE-SUPAERO has produced more than 21,500 graduates. Some of them have achieved fame in their field, including: Henri Coandă, the discoverer of the Coandă effect; Henri Ziegler, father of the Airbus program; Frédéric d'Allest, first chairman of Arianespace; and Jean-François Clervoy, astronaut.

The Observatoire Midi-Pyrénées (OMP) is an astronomical observatory part of Toulouse III - Paul Sabatier University, France. It federates the laboratories of the "sciences of the universe" (astronomy, astrophysics, cosmology), planetary sciences and the environmental sciences of Toulouse III and constitutes the core of its focus area "Universe, Planet, Space, Environment" (UPEE).

The Toulouse Space Centre (French: Centre spatial de Toulouse; CST) is a research and development centre of CNES. Founded in September 1968, it is located in the Rangueil-Lespinet district of Toulouse in the Haute-Garonne department in the Occitanie region in France. More than 1,700 employees are responsible for the development of most of the work for which CNES is responsible, with the exception of launch vehicles and their launches.

Aerospace Valley is a French cluster of aerospace engineering companies and research centres. The cluster is located in the regions of Occitanie and Nouvelle-Aquitaine in the southwest of France and is mainly concentrated in and around the cities of Bordeaux and Toulouse. The over 500 affiliated companies (including Airbus, Air France Industries and Dassault Aviation) are responsible for some 120,000 jobs in the aviation and space flight industries. In addition, some 8,500 researchers are active within the affiliated companies and institutions.The cluster's stated aim is to create 40,000 - 45,000 new jobs by 2026. Since its inception in 2005, the cluster has initiated some 220 research projects with a total budget of 460 million euros, including 204 million euros in government funding.The headquarters of Aerospace Valley is located in Toulouse. Chair of the cluster is Jean-Marc Thomas, who is also vicechair of Airbus France. Key locations of the cluster include: The "Aerospace Campus" in Toulouse with the aviation schools ISAE (a merger of SUPAERO and ENSICA), ENAC and IPSA and over 1000 researchers at ONERA, CNRS, and CNES, among others. The Université Paul Sabatier, INSA Toulouse, INPT, and TBS Education are also part of this concentration of research and training facilities in and around Toulouse. The Herbettes Aqueduct (French: Pont-Canal des Herbettes) is one of several aqueducts on the Canal du Midi. In Toulouse France, it carries the canal over a four-lane highway in a metal trough. The trough has been colorfully painted underneath. The aqueduct is about 2 km (1.2 mi) from the Port Saint-Sauveur.The structure is made of steel, is 74 m (243 ft) long, and was completed in 1983.

Montaudran is a suburb of Toulouse situated to the south east of the city (secteur 5), by the Hers-Mort river. It is notable thanks to the Aéropostale company and its aerodrome which was the base for the aeronautical pioneers between 1917 and 1933 who established the first commercial air routes with postal flights to Casablanca, Dakar... and on to South America. 500 m further north is a group of two primary schools (originally one boys', one girls') and a nursery school named after one of the Aéropostale pilots, Henri Guillaumet. Montraudan is also the home of a well-frequented sports association with a rugby section.
