Hemlock Reservoir

The Connecticut Audubon Society Center at Fairfield is a nature center and wildlife sanctuary in the Greenfield Hill area of Fairfield, Connecticut. Constructed in 1971, the center features classrooms for environmental education programs, live animals on display, natural history exhibits, a nature library, a solar greenhouse and a gift shop. Outside there is a compound with non-releasable rescued birds of prey, including owls, hawks, peregrine falcons, a turkey vulture and other raptors. The center maintains the 152-acre (0.62 km2) Roy and Margot Larsen Wildlife Sanctuary with 7 miles (11 km) of trails, including the Chiboucas Wheelchair-accessible Trail for the Disabled, a pond observation platform and interpretive signs. The trail habitats include woods, marsh, stream, pond and meadow. Environmental programs are offered for youth, school groups, Scout troops and other organizations, as well as summer camp and after school classes. Issues relating to birds, their habits and related environmental topics are a special focus. The Connecticut Audubon Society Center at Fairfield is one of five nature centers and 19 wildlife sanctuaries operated by the Connecticut Audubon Society, which is separate from the National Audubon Society. The building is closed on Sundays.

Murray is a census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Fairfield, Fairfield County, Connecticut, United States. It is in the northern part of Fairfield, with Burr Street running north–south through the center of the CDP. The Merritt Parkway crosses the CDP from east to west, with access from Exit 44 (CT 58, Black Rock Turnpike) at the eastern edge of the community. Murray was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2020 census.

Black Rock Church is a non-denominational church located in Fairfield, Connecticut. The church was established in 1849 in the Black Rock section of Bridgeport, Connecticut, and moved to its current site in 1968. Approximately 4000 adults and children attend the church's four weekend services.

Aspetuck is a village, which in Connecticut is an unincorporated community on the Aspetuck River, in Fairfield County, Connecticut, mostly in the town of Easton but extending also into Weston. It is significant for being the location of the Aspectuck Historic District, a well-preserved collection of houses from the 18th and 19th centuries. The area was settled in the 17th century. It was a long-time home of Helen Keller. According to a New York Times real estate section article, "The district gets its name from the Aspetuck Indians, who lived along the river. In 1670, they sold the land to English settlers for cloth, winter wheat and maize valued at $.36." Weston was incorporated in 1787, and Easton was split out and incorporated in 1845.

The Greenfield Hill Grange #133 is a historic grange hall at 1873 Hillside Road in Fairfield, Connecticut. Built in 1897, it is one of a few documented examples of high-quality architecture built specifically for a grange chapter in the state. The property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008. The building continues to be owned by a local chapter, even though the area it serves no longer has many farms.

The Aspetuck Reservoir is a large body of water in Fairfield County, Connecticut. It is formed on the Aspetuck River. All of the Aspetuck River Watershed in Redding, the easternmost quadrant of the Town, drains south to the Aspetuck Reservoir in Easton and Fairfield.

The Aspetuck River is a 17.0-mile-long (27.4 km) river in the U.S. state of Connecticut. The river rises in the hills located in Huntington State Park in Bethel, with a watershed of approximately 430 acres (170 ha). The river flows generally southerly through Redding, Connecticut, to the Aspetuck Reservoir, and finally into the Saugatuck River in Westport, Connecticut and then into the Long Island Sound. It flows through the village of Aspetuck at an average depth of 2.5 feet (0.76 m). The word Aspetuck can be translated as "river originating at the high place" in an Algonquian language.The Aspetuck Reservoir is fed water diverted from the Saugatuck Reservoir via an underground aqueduct. Water from the Aspetuck Reservoir is also diverted into the Hemlock Reservoir in Easton and Fairfield, which then flows into the Mill River.

Easton is a town in Fairfield County, Connecticut, United States. The population was 7,605 at the time of the 2020 census. Easton contains the historic district of Aspetuck and the Plattsville census-designated place. Part of the Greater Bridgeport Planning Region, which is in turn a part of the New York metropolitan statistical area, it is bordered by the towns of Fairfield, Connecticut to the south, Redding to the north, Weston to the west, and Monroe and Trumbull to the east. In March 2023, Easton established a sister city relationship with Sviatohirsk, Donetsk, Ukraine.

Plattsville is a census-designated place (CDP) in the towns of Easton and Fairfield, Fairfield County, Connecticut, United States. It is primarily in the town of Easton, with a portion extending south across the Mill River into Fairfield. The Merritt Parkway forms the southeast border of the CDP, and Connecticut Route 59 (Sport Hill Road in Easton and Easton Turnpike in Fairfield) runs north–south through it. Plattsville was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2020 census.

The Martire Family Arena is a 3,600-seat ice hockey arena in Fairfield, Connecticut. It is home to the Sacred Heart Pioneers men's and women's ice hockey teams. The arena opened in January 2023.

The Bradley-Hubbell House is an historic house located at 535 Black Rock Turnpike in Easton, Connecticut. Built in 1816 for Aljah and Elizabeth Bradley, it is a Colonial with a traditional center-chimney plan and a few Federal-style ornaments, including oval windows in the gables, a parlor mantel, and rope molding on the stairs. In 1912, Bradley descendants sold the property to the Bridgeport Hydraulic Company, which flooded much of the farmland for a reservoir and leased the house to Franklin Hubbell (d. 1996), one of its employees. In 1998, the house was donated to the Easton Historical Society, which is restoring it.Two occupants have left memoirs of their life in the house. The first was John Dimon Bradley, son of Aljah and Elizabeth, who described life on what was mainly a subsistence farm in the 19th century. The second was Patricia Hubbell, daughter of Franklin Hubbell, who wrote about her life while she lived in the house between about 1932 and 1954.On April 18, 2003, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places. The house overlooks the Aspectuck Reservoir.The house is located on Black Rock Turnpike, on which the British marched to Danbury, Connecticut during the American Revolutionary War. However, the house had not yet been constructed at that time.
