Laurel Heights is a neighborhood of San Francisco, California. It is located to the south of the Presidio of San Francisco and east of the Richmond District. It is bordered by Geary Boulevard and the University of San Francisco campus to the south, Arguello Boulevard to the west, California Street to the north and Presidio Avenue to the east. The Laurel Village shopping center is located on California between Laurel and Spruce, the California Pacific Medical Center is on California between Arguello and Maple, and a UCSF campus is located in the northeastern corner of the neighborhood. The neighborhood is characterized by two-story Edwardian and Victorian style homes in an upper-middle class suburban neighborhood. The area has an award-winning public school: Roosevelt Middle School located on Arguello Street and Geary Avenue.

The University of San Francisco (USF) is a private Jesuit university in San Francisco, California. The university's main campus is located on a 55-acre (22 ha) setting between the Golden Gate Bridge and Golden Gate Park. The main campus is nicknamed "The Hilltop" and is split into two sections. Part of the main campus is located on Lone Mountain, one of San Francisco's major geographical features. Its close historical ties with the City and County of San Francisco are reflected in the university's traditional motto, Pro Urbe et Universitate (For the City and University).

The Fromm Institute for Lifelong Learning at the University of San Francisco (USF) offers noncredit courses with no assignments or grades for adults age 50 and over with no other objective than the love of learning. Organized in 1976 with support from Hanna and Alfred Fromm, the Institute’s program served as a model for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institutes that have been established at over 120 universities and colleges in the United States.

Lone Mountain is a historic hill in west-central San Francisco, California and the site of the private University of San Francisco (USF) – Lone Mountain Campus, which in turn was previously the San Francisco Lone Mountain College for Women. It was once the location of Lone Mountain Cemetery, a complex encompassing the Laurel Hill, Calvary, Masonic, and Odd Fellows Cemeteries.Lone Mountain is one of San Francisco's historic hills. The hill is near to the former location of the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Masonic Cemetery, and Greek Orthodox Cemetery. The graves in these cemeteries, along with most graves in San Francisco, were moved to Colma by the 1940s. Lone Mountain is also home to the Angelo J. Rossi Playground and Rossi Pool at Arguello Boulevard and Anza Street. Lone Mountain is also known as "University Terrace" because of the terraces that connect the two USF campuses.

The San Francisco Columbarium & Funeral Home is a columbarium (repository for human ashes) owned and operated by Dignity Memorial, at One Loraine Court, near Stanyan and Anza Streets, just north of Golden Gate Park in San Francisco, California. Built in 1898 by architect Bernard J.S. Cahill, the copper-domed Columbarium is an example of Neo-Classical architecture. It is the only non-denominational burial place within San Francisco's city limits that is open to the public and has space available.

Lone Mountain Cemetery was a complex of cemeteries in the Lone Mountain neighborhood of San Francisco, California on the land bounded by the present-day California Street, Geary Boulevard, Parker Avenue, and Presidio Avenue. Opened 1854, it eventually comprised Laurel Hill Cemetery, Calvary Cemetery, the Masonic Cemetery, and Odd Fellows Cemetery.Pressure to close the complex began around the beginning of the twentieth century, and by 1941 all remains within it had been moved elsewhere, mostly to a new necropolis in Colma, California, though some were never accounted for.The land from Laurel Hill Cemetery and Calvary Cemetery was eventually used to create housing and shopping centers within the Lone Mountain neighborhood, the Masonic Cemetery land became the campus for University of San Francisco (USF), and the Odd Fellows Cemetery had maintained the columbarium and surrounding memorial park land, and the additional land was used to create the Angelo Rossi Playground and Pool and some single family housing.

The Yugantar Ashram was the building in San Francisco, California that housed the headquarters of the Ghadar Party, the liberation movement of India. First headquarters was at 436 Hill St, San Francisco, California, United States. Ghadar Party operated from there from 1913 to 1917. It housed a printing machine which published Ghadar a newspaper from here. In 1917, headquarters of Ghadar Party were shifted to 5 Wood Street, San Francisco, which is the present site of Ghadar Memorial. The Ashram building with historical records was handed over to Government of India in 1949. On a move from the local community since 1952 to setup a memorial, the Government of India sanctioned $83000 for restoration of dilapidated building. Ground breaking for restoration work was done by Indian Minister of External Affairs, S. Swaran Singh in September 1974. Ghadar Memorial was inaugurated in 1975 by TN Kaul, Indian ambassador to US. A memorial establishing a historical museum and library has been built there. There are 21 framed pictures of the Gadar Party leaders and martyrs on two opposite walls of the main hall. Twenty-two open bookshelves have an assortment of books and four showcases display some Gadar Party material.

Negoesco Stadium is a 3,000 seat soccer stadium located in San Francisco, on the campus of University of San Francisco.Named for USF Soccer Coach Steve Negoesco. It is the home field for the men's and women's soccer teams. Negoesco is also the primary home field for San Francisco City FC of the Premier Development League. The stadium is also used by USF students and staff for recreational activities.

Hahnemann Medical College of the Pacific was an American homeopathic medical school in San Francisco, California. It was established in 1881 as Hahnemann Medical College, with the first graduating class in 1884. During the period of 1888–1902, it was known as Hahnemann Hospital College of San Francisco. Its last name change, 1902–1915, was to Hahnemann Medical College of the Pacific. In 1884, the college was first located at the corner of Stockton Street and Geary Street, but it moved before the end of the year to No. 115 Haight Street. A new four-story building was erected in 1899, costing US$10,000, on a lot of about equal value, situated at the corner of Sacramento and Maple streets. In 1915, the college merged with University of California San Francisco School of Medicine.The standard for graduation was kept at 75% for years, and eventually, the tendency was to be more strict in the requirements for graduation. Higher requirements for admission were also implemented. When the subject of women's admission was broached, a motion was passed that women should be admitted on an equal footing with men to all the privileges of the college. Early in the College's career, co-education was strengthened by the appointment of woman clinical assistants, lecturers and professors.Since the college's foundation in 1881, it was the institution behind the homeopathic branch of medicine in the State of California, graduating 309 men and women. It did so with little support in the way of gifts and endowments as compared to other medical colleges on the Pacific coast. The medical education received there being up-to-date, the State rewarded the college by recognizing its graduates as eligible to become licensed physicians.

The House of Love and Prayer was an Hasidic Jewish congregation and synagogue, located at 347 Arguello Boulevard, in the Richmond district of San Francisco, California, in the United States. Founded in 1967 by rebbe Shlomo Carlebach and Zalman Schachter, the congregation had a short existence, lasting just ten years. Despite its Hasidic origins, the rituals of worship were inspired by the American counterculture movement, and attracted young, non-affiliated Jews. The congregation eventually disbanded, and some of the congregants relocated to Israel, founding Moshav Mevo Modi'im in 1975.

This article gives an overview of each of the residence halls at the University of San Francisco. It provides a description, photographs and history of both on campus residence halls for freshmen and sophomore students and independent living options for upperclassmen. Each residence hall, or dormitory contains at least one lounge, a kitchen, and laundry facilities. Halls are secured with a 24-hour desk staff. Community programs and activities are planned by Resident Advisors, Resident Ministers, Residence Hall Council, and Residence Hall Association.

Saint Ignatius Church is a church on the campus of the University of San Francisco in San Francisco, California. The church serves a parish of the Catholic Archdiocese of San Francisco and is the university's chapel. Saint Ignatius Church is staffed by priests of the Society of Jesus and is dedicated to the Society's founder, Ignatius of Loyola.
