Northern High School (Durham, North Carolina)

Lebanon Township is one of six townships in Durham County, North Carolina, United States. The township had a population of 16,415 according to the 2000 census. Geographically, Lebanon Township occupies 29.88 square miles (77.4 km2) in northwestern Durham County. The township is occupied by small portions of the city of Durham. Popular roads in Lebanon include Russell and Guess. 3 country clubs are located in Lebanon.

West Point Mill is a reproduction of the historic gristmill on the Eno River in north Durham, North Carolina. The mill and other historic structures are preserved in the West Point on the Eno city park. The mill operates as part of a free tour on weekends, with mill-ground meal and flour available for purchase.

Lipscomb House, or Lipscombe House, is a historic Federal-style plantation house in Durham, North Carolina, United States. The Lipscomb Plantation, sitting on 2,000 acres between the Eno River and the Little River, was one of the largest forced-labor cotton farms in Durham County. The plantation was part of the Trading Path, used by Catawba and Waxhaw Native American tribes trading between Petersburg, Virginia, and Hillsborough, North Carolina. The house is now run as a bed and breakfast.

West Point on the Eno is a city park and historical center covering 412 acres (1.67 km2) in Durham, Durham County, North Carolina. Several historical structures are conserved on the site: West Point Mill - a reproduction colonial-era mill that is now a museum. Hugh Mangum Museum of Photography - located in the restored tobacco packhouse, features historic photographs from the late 19th and early 20th century from negatives found in the packhouse, also historic camera equipment McCown-Mangum House - home to one of the mill's owners, restored 1850s farmhouse with late 19th-century furnishings, open for toursOther facilities include: Amphitheatre - includes a large open field, lawn seating, stage, electricity, water, parking 5 miles of trails Picnic facilities Canoe access to the Eno River Natural Play Space - a play area for children

Kinchen Holloway House, also known as Guess Mill House, is a historic home located at Durham, Durham County, North Carolina. It was built about 1870, and is a two-story, three-bay, frame I-house with a one-story, gable-roof rear ell. It was built by Kinchen Holloway, a farmer and miller.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.

Russell School, also known as Cain's School, is a historic Rosenwald school located near Durham, Durham County, North Carolina. It was built in 1926–1927, and is a one-story, front-gabled weatherboarded building. It features a center projecting wing containing the original industrial room, flanking recessed entrances, and two large classrooms. Construction of the school was made possible due to the notable efforts of Durham Jeanes supervisor Carrie Thomas Jordan. The school closed in 1945 and has been owned by Cain's Chapel Baptist Church and used as a community center.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009.

Riverside High School is a public high school located in Durham, North Carolina. The principal of Riverside High is Dr. Gloria Woods-Weeks, who joined as principal in 2021. Current members of the school administrative team include Dr. Will Okun, Mr. Darryl Bradshaw, Ms. Jasmine McKoy, Mrs. Tammy Patterson, and Mr. Gregory Goble. The school enrolls students from grades 9–12. The school was founded in 1991 and became one of the seven Durham Public High Schools.

The Little River Reservoir is located in Durham, North Carolina, United States, and is one of the main sources of drinking water for the town. The reservoir was created by a dam completed in 1988. It hosts a city park that offers fishing facilities including boat, canoe, and kayak rentals, along with picnic tables and restrooms. Private boats are not permitted on the reservoir. Current and historic reservoir water levels can be found below.In cooperation with Raleigh, Wake Forest, Wendell, and Zebulon in North Carolina, Wake County NC is also planning a reservoir on the Little River. The project has been postponed for environmental study.

Voyager Academy is an elementary, middle, and high school in the northern part of Durham, North Carolina, United States, and is located in Independence Park. It was founded in 2005. Current enrollment is approximately 1350 students across grades K-12. Voyager is a charter school and uses a lottery to admit students.

WNCU (90.7 FM) is a radio station broadcasting a jazz format. Licensed to Durham, North Carolina, United States, the station serves the Durham area. The station is owned by North Carolina Central University and features programming from National Public Radio and Public Radio Exchange. WNCU broadcasts in the HD Radio format.

The Catsburg Country Store was located at the junction of Old Oxford Highway and Hamlin Road in Durham County, North Carolina, sited roughly halfway between Durham and Butner, near historic Stagville Plantation. This two-story, hip-roofed, frame structure was a well-preserved box-and-canopy store that survived until it was dismantled for preservation and relocation in 2020. Built in the 1920s by Sheriff Eugene G. Belvin, it had a high false front, and a one-story gable-roof supported by large wooden posts. After the location closed for business and was abandoned in the 1990's, the Catsburg Country Store was still widely recognized as a local landmark. Its renown came from the large painted image of a black cat on the front parapet above the word Catsburg, which led to the building becoming a favorite of local photographers and artists. This part of town is called Catsburg as a tribute to the late Sheriff Belvin, whose nickname was "Cat." Belvin was an extremely popular sheriff in Durham County who earned his nickname through his ability to sneak up on bootleggers and moonshiners in the 1920s. Little to nothing is known of "Cat" but some say that his knack for finding local stills had much to do with his being a distiller himself and "wiping out the competition".Surrounding the old store, Catsburg Natural Area contains a Basic Mesic Forest with two rare plant species. The site was a Registered Heritage Area owned in part by the Army Corps of Engineers; the remainder is privately owned.The disassembly of the structure by Preservation Durham was completed in 2020 after a widely publicized search for a new caretaker for the building, which had been offered for free to anyone who would move it. As of 2022, the original location now serves as a makeshift parking area for tractor trailers and an illegal dumping ground.

Hardscrabble, also known as Pleasant Grove, is a historic plantation home located near Bahama, Durham County, North Carolina. It consists of two houses, one Georgian and one Federal, covered by a common cross-gable roof in the late-19th century. The Georgian was built about 1779 and the Federal section in the 1790s.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.
