The Saints Peter and Matthew the Apostles Parish Church of Toa Baja (Spanish: Iglesia Parroquial de los Apóstoles San Pedro y San Matías), better known as the St. Peter the Apostle Parish Church of Toa Baja (Iglesia Parroquial de San Pedro Apóstol de Toa Baja), is a historic 16h-century Roman Catholic parish church located in the main town square (plaza pública) of Toa Baja Pueblo, the administrative and historic center of the municipality of Toa Baja, Puerto Rico.The church is notable for having its façade facing the La Plata River rather than the town square as it is usual in Puerto Rican towns (pueblos). Local tradition states that this was due to historical floods and consequent modifications made to the church. A small chapel that dated to before the official founding of Toa Baja used to occupy the site of the current church. The current façade, similar to that of the parish church of Vega Alta, dates to the 18th century. The church is of artistic notability for its chiseled gold and silver rococo ornamentations, described by Iñigo Abbad y Lasierra in 1775 as one of the best adorned in the island.

Its population in 2010 was 565.As was customary in Spain, in Puerto Rico, the municipality has a barrio called pueblo which contains a central plaza, the municipal buildings (city hall), and a Catholic church. Fiestas patronales (patron saint festivals) are held in the central plaza every year.

Toa Baja is part of the San Juan-Caguas-Guaynabo Metropolitan Statistical Area. Toa Baja is located fifteen minutes by car from San Juan and two hours from Ponce.

Hacienda de Carlos Vassallo is a historic place in the town and municipality of Dorado, in Puerto Rico. It is also known as Casa Hacienda de Don Oscar Nevárez, or Hacienda de Río Nuevo.It is the agriculture, architecture and industry surrounding this hacienda that makes it an important part of Puerto Rican history and culture.The privately owned property has had many owners over the years, including Don José Nevares. Oscar Nevares, the uncle of Ricardo Rosselló, the governor of Puerto Rico, has a house there. The hacienda is now being used as a dairy farm with over 350 cows and is located next to the Plata River, where cows from the farm can be seen from Puerto Rico Highway 693 and Puerto Rico Highway 2.It was listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places on March 22, 1989.Still standing, is a historic smoke stack from 1861, a chimney which was used when the hacienda was a sugarcane mill.

The Dorado Ground Water Contamination Site is one of 18 sites listed on the EPA’s National Priorities List in Puerto Rico, a territory of the United States, identified as posing a risk to human health and/or the environment because of a contamination plume in the underlying karst aquifer. Located in north-central Puerto Rico, 20 mi (32 km) to the west of the capital city, San Juan, the Dorado Ground Water Contamination site is located within the Maguayo and Dorado Urbano public water systems, and is the source of drinking water for more than 67,000 people. This site first came under scrutiny by officials in the 1980s and it was officially added to the EPA's Superfund list on September 9, 2016. The EPA is in the process of examining the precise extent and location of this contaminated groundwater plume and, at this time, the contaminants cannot be attributed to any specific source. In the wake of Hurricane Maria, the site has come under increased scrutiny because locals desperate for a source of safe drinking water have been using wells on the superfund site.

Maguayo is a barrio in the municipality of Dorado, Puerto Rico. Its population in 2010 was 4,496.

Casa del Rey (Spanish for 'house of the king') is a historic building and former cabildo located in the historic center of Dorado, Puerto Rico. Throughout its history it has also been known as the Militia Guard Headquarters (Cuartel de la Guardia de Milicias), Parador del Rey, and the Municipal Jail of Dorado (Cárcel Municipal de Dorado). The building, the oldest in town, provided housing for Spanish government personnel and also served as the regional military headquarters. In 1848, Jacinto López purchased the structure. In converting it into a residence, López added two wings which created a U-shaped configuration around an interior patio. In 1871, Casa del Rey became the home of Manuel Alonso y Pacheco, Puerto Rico's notable romantic writer. It was listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 1989. The house was restored by the Institute of Puerto Rican Culture in 1978 and is now a local history museum.

It is one of the six barrios in the municipality of Dorado, Puerto Rico, along with Espinosa, Higuillar, Maguayo, Mameyal and Río Lajas.As was customary in Spain, in Puerto Rico, the municipality has a barrio called pueblo which contains a central plaza, the municipal buildings (city hall), and a Catholic church. The Don Andrés Hernández Residence (Spanish: Residencia Don Andrés Hernández), also known as the Don Modesto Hernández Residence (Residencia Don Modesto Hernández) or just the Yellow House (La Casa Amarilla), is a historic house located in Dorado Pueblo (downtown Dorado) in the municipality of the same name in northern Puerto Rico. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on May 22, 1989. Investigation and oral tradition show that this might very well be the second-oldest house in all of Dorado. The sunken level of property, with regards to the current level of the town, testifies as to the old age of the house.
