Placeres Beach

The Our Lady of Placeres church (Igrexa da Nosa Señora dos Praceres) is a Catholic church in the municipality of Pontevedra, Galicia, Spain. The church was built at the end of the 19th century in neo-Gothic style. The temple is located in the civil parish of Lourizán and was built over a previous chapel at the end of the harbour bar.

The port of Marín and Ria de Pontevedra is located in the municipalities of Marín and Pontevedra, Galicia (Spain). It is on the southern shore of the Ria de Pontevedra. The port stretches from Punta Pesqueira in the municipality of Marín to Placeres in the municipality of Pontevedra. It is used as a merchant port (containers, bulk) and Fishing port. It is also used as a marina.

The Lérez is a river in South West Galicia, Spain. The river meets the Atlantic Ocean at Pontevedra, where it creates Pontevedra's ria. The sources of the 60-kilometre (37 mi) long stream are in Serra do Candán, in the mountain of San Bieito, in the parish of Aciveiro (Forcarei). The Lérez passes through the communities of Forcarei, Cerdedo, Campo Lameiro, Cotobade and, finally, Pontevedra. Its main tributaries are the Salgueiro, Cabaleiros, Grande, O Castro, Quireza, Tenorio and Almofrei.

Marín is a town and municipality in Galicia, Spain in the province of Pontevedra. It is located on the southern shore of the estuary of Pontevedra, in the comarca of O Morrazo. This town is where the Spanish Navy was settled. It was established as the Escuela Naval Militar de Oficiales (Naval Academy for Officers). Formerly named San Xiao Ancorados by ships anchored nearby, but it is a popular distortion of "Encoirados," meaning leather tanneries, as they were in the Lameira river which flows into the urban center of the village. Father Sarmiento says his name comes from the Latin word mare, meaning sea, but it is now known to be derived from the name of a former possessor of this land named Marinus. Marín derives from Marini, "property of Marinus." Both references to the sea are, therefore, pure coincidences.

The Botanical Garden of Lourizán is an arboretum of some 54 hectares in the municipality of Pontevedra in Spain. It has more than 850 catalogued species and one of the largest collections in Spain. It is the most important botanical garden in Galicia.

The Naval Military Academy (Spanish: Escuela Naval Militar, ENM), at Marín, Pontevedra, in north-western Spain, is a coeducational naval academy that educates officers for commissioning primarily into the Spanish Navy and Spanish Navy Marines.

The Tambo Island is an island in the middle of the Pontevedra bay, in Spain. It belongs to the municipality of Poio, from which it is separated by a 1.1 km long but shallow channel. Its surface area is 0.28 km², with a maximum height of 80 m, although its entire central part is over 50 metres high. Its perimeter reaches 4 km.

Poio is a municipality in the province of Pontevedra, in the autonomous community of Galicia, Spain. It belongs to the comarca of Pontevedra. Poio is located in the north shore of the Ría de Pontevedra, between Sanxenxo and the provincial capital, Pontevedra. The municipality is adjacent with Meaño, Meis, Pontevedra and Sanxenxo and offers a rich fusion of mountain and sea areas. Tambo island, an uninhabited island located in the middle of the Pontevedra estuary, officially belongs to Poio but it is under the control of the Spanish Navy and disembarkment is not allowed.

Mollavao is a neighbourhood in the city of Pontevedra (Spain), in its southwestern area, next to the Ria de Pontevedra. It has mainly a residential function.

The Ria Bridge is a rigid frame bridge with V-shaped legs and a box girder road bridge that crosses the Ria de Pontevedra in the city of Pontevedra, Spain. It is part of the AP-9 motorway and opened in 1992.

A Moureira is the old seafarers' and fishermen's quarter of the city of Pontevedra (Spain), where the Seamen's Guild lived, near the Lérez river, the Pontevedra ria and the Gafos river. Nowadays, it is part of the city centre.
