Barwick, Great Barwick, and Little Barwick (Berewyk 14th century, and Barrack 19th century) are hamlets in the civil parish of Standon in Hertfordshire, England. They are near the A10 road and the village of Much Hadham and the hamlet of Latchford. The River Rib flows behind Barwick and through Great Barwick. There is a ford crossing at Great Barwick.

Youngsbury House is a Grade II listed house near Wadesmill, Hertfordshire, England. The stable block is Grade II* listed. The house was built in about 1745 by David Poole. There are 97 acres of grounds, and gardens landscaped by Capability Brown. They are listed Grade II*.

Fanhams Hall is an 18th-century Queen Anne House-style country house in Wareside, Hertfordshire in the south east of England. It is a Grade II* listed building which is now operating as a hotel. Built in the early 18th century, it was subsequently enlarged in 1901, when the original brick building was encased and extended as a three-storey Jacobean style country house, roughcast with stone dressings. On the north is a projecting hall range with a long gallery above. The east front has eight bays with a three-storey central porch. The west front has three bays and the courtyard front 15 bays, with a round arch entrance flanked by two two-storey towers with pyramidal roofs. The interior is decorated in the Arts and Crafts style with plasterwork by L A Turner and stained glass by Morris and Co. in the library.

Wareside is a small village and civil parish in the East Hertfordshire district, in the county of Hertfordshire, England. The population of the civil parish in the 2011 census was 735. It is approximately 3 miles (5 km) away from the town of Ware (from where it probably took its name) and the larger town of Hertford, the county town. Nearby villages include Widford, Hunsdon, Babbs Green and Bakers End. Nearby hamlets include Cold Christmas and Helham Green. The B1004 road linking Ware to Bishop's Stortford goes through the village and the main A10 road can be joined up at Thundridge. Fanhams Hall Road links Wareside back to Ware. Ware railway station on the Hertford East Branch Line is located two and a half miles (4 km) away. Holy Trinity Church was built in the Lombardic style in 1841 by Thomas Smith and has been a Grade II listed building since 1967.The village has a school: Wareside Church of England Primary School; two locally well-known pubs: The Chequers Inn and The White Horse; and is renowned within the area for its legendary "Wareside Treaclemine".

Mardock railway station served the village of Wareside, Hertfordshire, England, from 1863 to 1964 by the Buntingford branch line.

High Cross is a village in the civil parish of Thundridge, in the East Hertfordshire district, in Hertfordshire, England. It lies upon what was the A10, however the A10 Wadesmill by-pass has now been built around High Cross and neighbouring villages. Sections of the A10 that used to run through High Cross and the neighbouring settlements such as Wadesmill were once part of the Roman road, Ermine Street. It is 4.6 km (2.9 mi) north of the town of Ware and 7 km (4 mi) north east of the county town of Hertford. The population was 853 as of the 2021 census.

Plashes Wood is a 71.9-hectare (178-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest south of Standon in Hertfordshire. The local planning authority is East Hertfordshire District Council. The wood is private property.The site is mainly oak and hornbeam woodland near the northern limit of its natural distribution. It has varied ground flora on soils from damp heavy clay to light gravels. Common plants include bramble, bluebells and dog's mercury. There are also ponds and extensive clearings dominated by bracken, and other flora including hoary cinquefoil.There is access from a footpath next to Colliers End church in Ermine Street.

Thundridge is a village and civil parish in the East Hertfordshire district, in the county of Hertfordshire, England. It is about two miles away from the town of Ware and about seven miles away from the large town of Hertford, the county town of Hertfordshire.
