Western Avenue (also known as Western Avenue & 18th Place) is a station on Metra's BNSF Line located in Pilsen neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. The station consists of one side platform and one island platform for outbound and inbound trains. The station has no station house, though shelters are provided. Amtrak and BNSF Railway trains run on tracks parallel to the station. The station is 3.7 miles (6.0 km) away from Union Station, the eastern terminus of the BNSF Line. As of 2018, Western Avenue is the 208th busiest of Metra's 236 non-downtown stations, with an average of 57 weekday boardings.Western Avenue station is located near the Western Pink Line 'L' station, as well as the Western station on the Blue Line's Congress branch. It is also located near an overpass for CSX Transportation and the Norfolk Southern Railway and a BNSF Railway yard.

Mount Sinai Hospital, formerly at times known as Mount Sinai Medical Center, is a 319-bed major urban hospital in Chicago, Illinois, with its main campus located adjacent to Douglass Park at 15th Street and California Avenue on the city's West Side. The hospital was established in 1912 under the name Maimonides Hospital, with a mission of serving poor immigrants from Europe while providing training to Jewish physicians, primarily of Eastern European descent. After a period of financial difficulty, it closed in 1918, and was reopened as "Mount Sinai Hospital" in 1919, with 60 beds and continuing its original mission.

The Tri-Taylor Historic District is a historic district in the Near West Side neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. The district is primarily residential and includes over 400 buildings. Most of the district's buildings are rowhouses, and almost all are from the late 19th century; their designs are notable for the frequent use of applied decorative elements uncommon elsewhere in Chicago. The district developed in the wake of the Great Chicago Fire of 1871 and was mainly the home to middle-class residents relocating from immigrant neighborhoods. While the district's residents were mainly Western European, particularly German and Irish, in its first decades, the area became predominantly Italian around 1900 and remained so until it entered a decline in the 1940s and 1950s.The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 3, 1983.

It is located near Metra's Western Avenue & 18th Place (Metra) station on the BNSF Railway Line.

UIC College Prep is a public. four-year Charter high school located in Chicago, Illinois. It is operated by the Noble Network of Charter Schools. The school has a partnership with the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Latino Youth High School (LYHS) is a Level 1 public charter high school that was established in 1974 as a program of Latino Youth, Inc. to address the problem of high dropout rates among children in the Pilsen / Little Village community.

California is a station on the Chicago Transit Authority's 'L' system, serving the Pink Line and the Little Village neighborhood. The station opened on March 10, 1902, as part of the Metropolitan West Side Elevated Railroad's Douglas Park branch. It is the closest station to Cook County Jail.

Attack Athletics is a 60,000-square-foot (5,600 m2) training center that includes four NBA regulation courts, and a 1,000-seat multi-purpose arena in Chicago, Illinois. It is owned by Tim Grover. The facility was designed by Cornerstone Architects Ltd. in Itasca, Illinois. Attack Athletics serves as the off-season training facility to NBA players, including Dwyane Wade, Devin Harris, Gilbert Arenas, Will Bynum, Juwan Howard, Michael Finley, Jermaine O'Neal, and many others. Former Attack Athletics' clients include Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Charles Barkley, and Hakeem Olajuwon.The Attack Athletics facility was the home of the PBL's Chicago Throwbacks basketball team. It was also the location where President Barack Obama played on Election Day.

St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran School is a historic Lutheran school building located at 2101-2107 W. 21st Street in Chicago, Illinois. Built in 1882, it is one of the only surviving Italianate school buildings in Chicago. While the Italianate style was popular in Chicago in the second half of the 19th century, it was mainly used in homes and commercial buildings rather than institutional buildings, making the school's design uncommon even for its era. The school's distinctive Italianate features include its tall windows with arched lintels, its symmetrical front facade, its double bracketed cornice, and the cupola atop its roof. The school is also one of the oldest remaining school buildings in the Lower West Side and its adjacent community areas; only four older schools remain within these nine community areas, and St. Ignatius College Prep is the only older parochial school.The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on January 27, 2000.

The COVID-19 Memorial Monument of Honor, Remembrance & Resilience is a public memorial under construction in the Illinois Medical District of Chicago, Illinois. The monument consists of five illuminated stainless steel sculptures designed to commemorate the global impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, and honor healthcare workers and frontline workers who responded to the crisis. The monument is scheduled for completion in late 2025.
