Wilton, Bottom Lounge was acquired by the CTA in eminent domain in 2001 and seized for demolition in 2005 to make way for the Brown Line extension project. Hindered by lawsuits regarding the relocation and payment for Bottom Lounge under Uniform Relocation Act, Bottom Lounge re-opened at its current West Loop location in 2008.The main concert hall is a 700 capacity sized room."Bottom Lounge Weddings". Bottom Lounge also houses the Volcano Room, a 300 capacity mixed use space and a full restaurant specializing in American Midwest fare.

The Groesbeck House is an Italianate style house located at 1304 West Washington Boulevard in Chicago, Illinois, United States. The house was built in 1869 by Otis L. Wheelock for Abraham Groesbeck. It was designated a Chicago Landmark on January 12, 1993.

The Wholesale Florists Exchange is a historic building at 1313 W. Randolph Street in the Near West Side neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. The building was constructed in 1927 to serve as a central market for several of Chicago's largest florists. Before the building opened, the city's floral industry was based at a crowded market on Wabash Street that lacked proper facilities for processing flowers. The new building, designed by architecture firm Fox & Fox, included amenities such as modern refrigeration and improved elevators and loading areas to facilitate efficient transport of flowers. It also featured an Art Deco design that incorporated floral themes, such as the lotuses atop its fluted concrete piers. The building served as the nexus of Chicago's floral industry until the 1950s, when the industry largely left Chicago for warmer regions of the country.The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on November 22, 2011.

Loomis was a rapid transit station on the Chicago Transit Authority Lake Street Elevated, which is now part of the Green Line. The station was located at the intersection of Lake Street, Loomis Street, and Ogden Avenue in the Near West Side neighborhood. Loomis opened on November 6, 1893, and closed on April 4, 1954.

The Creamery Package Manufacturing Company Building is a historic building at 1245 W. Washington Boulevard in the Near West Side neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. Built in 1926, the building served as the headquarters for the Creamery Package Manufacturing Company, which was formed in 1887. The architecture firm of Gardner & Lindberg designed the three-story Colonial Revival building. The Creamery Package Manufacturing Company produced processing equipment and other goods for the dairy industry, which had a large presence in and around Chicago in the early 20th century. The company is representative of Chicago's significant food processing industry; the city's position as a transportation hub meant processing companies could quickly send their goods to larger customers in the food industry. The Creamery Package Manufacturing Company used the building until the 1970s.The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on November 8, 2011.

The Archer Daniels Midland Wheat Mill was a plant in Chicago's Fulton Market District. The complex included brick loft buildings, a grain elevator, and silos. The oldest buildings in the complex were built in 1897 and were designed by William Carbys Zimmerman and John J. Flanders. It originally served as Eckhart & Swan's wheat and rye mill.

Union Park is a municipal park in Chicago, Illinois, comprising 13.46 acres (5.45 ha).Located in the Near West Side, the park is just south of Ashland/Lake station on the Green and Pink lines of the Chicago 'L', bordered by North Ashland Avenue on the west, West Lake Street on the north, the diagonal North Ogden Avenue along most of the east border, and West Washington Boulevard on the south. The park has several large green fields used for demonstrations or various forms of football, playgrounds, a swimming pool, a fieldhouse, tennis courts, baseball fields, basketball courts. While the name was chosen in 1853 in reference to the United States' federal union, Union Park has a considerable labor history. The surrounding neighborhood is the home of most of the city's labor union offices, including the United Electrical, Radio and Machine Workers of America, the Teamsters, LIUNA, the Workers United Hall, and over a dozen others. In the 1910s, the park was one of the only racially integrated parks in the city. In 2006, the park was the starting point for Chicago's wing of the 2006 immigration reform protests, including the Great American Boycott on International Workers Day, which were the largest demonstrations in the history of Chicago to date. It is also the site of the annual Pitchfork Music Festival, North Coast Music Festival, and many other music festivals and political protests. In 2006, the city commissioned a statue of James Connolly, an Irish republican and Marxist who was executed in 1916, on the south west corner.

The Union Park Hotel is a historic hotel building located at 1519-1521 W. Warren Boulevard in Chicago, Illinois. The building was built in 1929-30 as an apartment hotel, a common type of housing for Chicago laborers in the 1920s. The hotel's Art Deco design reflects the national popularity of the style in the 1920s. The building's piers give it a vertical emphasis common to Art Deco works, and its decorative elements reflect the style's geometric focus. The colorful brick and terra cotta facade of the building is also characteristic of Art Deco buildings of the late 1920s, though color is seldom used extensively in Chicago's other Art Deco buildings.The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on June 7, 2010.

Ashland (also Ashland/Lake) is an 'L' station on the CTA's Green and Pink Lines. It is an elevated station with two side platforms, located in Chicago's Near West Side neighborhood at 1601 West Lake Street. Just to the west of the station the Pink Line branches off from the Lake Street branch to follow the Paulina Connector to the Douglas branch. The adjacent stations are California (Green), which is located about 1+1⁄2 miles (2.4 km) to the west, Polk (Pink), which is located about 1 mile (1.6 km) to the south, and Morgan station, approximately 3⁄4 mile (1.2 km) to the east.

It is the second season of Real World to be filmed in the East North Central States region of the United States, specifically in Chicago, Illinois after The Real World: Chicago. The season featured a total of seven people with an additional 11 guests who were the "Skeletons". It is the eighth season to take place in a city that had hosted a previous season, as the show's eleventh season was set in Chicago in 2002. Chicago was first reported as the location for the 30th season in a June 2014 article by Crain's Chicago Business. Production began on August 8, 2014, and concluded on October 20, 2014 totaling up to 74 days of filming. The season premiered on December 16 of that year, consisting of 13 episodes.This season marks the first time that the show has aired on a night other than a Wednesday since the seventeenth season. No reunion special was produced, marking the first time since the tenth season in 2001.
