Uraga Station

National Defense Academy of Japan (防衛大学校, Bōei Daigakkō), abbreviated NDA (防大, Bōdai) is the national, four-year university-level service academy aimed to educate and train students who will be serving as officers in the three services of the Japan Self-Defense Forces. It is located in Yokosuka, Kanagawa.

In its 70.2-hectare area are found: the park management center, the Kannonzaki Lighthouse, the Yokosuka Museum of Art, the Kannonzaki Nature Museum (Japanese: 観音崎自然博物館), a day camp site, the coastal and hill trails, etc.The visitors to this park can enjoy "Ship watching", as it is located on the Uraga Channel, Japan's busiest sea lane.

Cape Kannon (Japanese: 観音崎=Kannonzaki) is a cape at the easternmost point of the Miura Peninsula, which divides Tokyo Bay from the Pacific Ocean. It is on a rocky coast where the Kannonzaki Lighthouse, Japan's first modern lighthouse (after two reconstructions) stands, and faces the Uraga Channel, Japan's busiest sea lane. Cape Kannon is located 3 kilometers east from Uraga Station of Keikyu Main Line railway. It is now part of Kannonzaki Park. The visitors to the Cape Kannon area can enjoy "Ship watching".It is perhaps best known as the spot where Lemuel Gulliver, the central character of the 1726 book Gulliver's Travels, landed in Japan in volume 3. It is featured as Xamoschi, a corruption of its then-spelling Kannonsaki.
