L'Assomption

L'Assomption station is a former Via Rail station in L'Assomption, Quebec, Canada. It is marked only by a signpost and served as an optional stop for two Via Rail routes running from Montreal, Quebec. On July 3, 2017, Via Rail ceased serving Ahuntsic and L'Assomption stations, and began serving Sauvé and Anjou stations instead. Both new stations are commuter rail stations operated by the Réseau de transport métropolitain (RTM).

The Cégep régional de Lanaudière is a Cégep, made up of three constituent colleges in Joliette, L'Assomption and Terrebonne, located in Quebec, Canada.As of early 2014, there are over 2,500 students at the Joliette constituent college and over 1,700 at the L'Assomption and Terrebonne constituent colleges respectively. Admissions at the L'Assomption college are handled by the Service régional d'admission du Montréal métropolitain (or SRAM; eng: City of Montreal regional admission services).The Cégep régional de Lanaudière is a member of the Société de formation et d'éducation continue (or SOFEDUC; eng: Society for training and continuing education). The current director general of the Cégep régional de Lanaudière is Marcel Côté, who has held this position since 2011.

L'Assomption is a provincial electoral district in the Lanaudière region of Quebec, Canada, that elects members to the National Assembly of Quebec. It includes the city of L'Assomption and part of the city of Repentigny, as well as a few other municipalities. It was created for the 1867 election (and an electoral district of that name existed earlier in the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Canada and the Legislative Assembly of Lower Canada). In the change from the 2001 to the 2011 electoral map, it lost Saint-Sulpice and part of the city of Repentigny to the newly created Repentigny electoral district, but it gained Charlemagne and a different part of the city of Repentigny from Masson; it also gained the city of L'Épiphanie and the parish of L'Épiphanie as well as the part of the city of L'Assomption that it did not already have from Rousseau; it also gained part of the city of Terrebonne from Terrebonne electoral district. In the change from the 2011 to 2017 electoral map, it lost all of its territory in Terrebone to the riding of Masson.

Le Gardeur station was on Saint-Paul Street in the Le Gardeur district of Repentigny, Quebec, Canada. The station was marked only by a signpost and was a request stop for two Via Rail routes from Montreal, Quebec. Via Rail announced that as of August 7, 2015, and "for safety reasons related to the railway crossing", all trains serving the two routes would no longer stop there, effectively shutting down the station. Passengers were directed to use L'Assomption railway station.

Le Gardeur was a former town in southwestern Quebec, Canada that is now a district of the city of Repentigny. It was merged with Repentigny as part of the 2002 municipal reorganization in Quebec.It is on the L'Assomption River in the Regional County Municipality of L'Assomption and is connected to Montreal by Route 138, Autoroute 40, and Via Rail on the Canadian National rail line. The rural parish of Saint-Paul-l'Ermite was established in 1856. The municipality of the same name was created in 1973 over part of the original territory. It changed its name to Le Gardeur five years later. (Pierre Le Gardeur, Sieur de Repentigny, was the region's first feudal lord, under letters-patent granted in 1647 to the Compagnie des cent associés.) The parish and its church are still active. Le Gardeur's main population is concentrated near the L'Assomption River in the southernmost part of the city, bordering the rest of Repentigny, and the Saint Lawrence River. The northern part is mostly farmland, and is being developed as a suburban area. This is where the March 2006 announced AMT Repentigny-Mascouche Line commuter train that began service in December 2014 turned off the existing Canadian National line onto its own right of way heading towards Terrebonne.

Saint-Sulpice (French pronunciation: [sɛ̃ sylpis] ) is a municipality in the Lanaudière region of Quebec, Canada, part of the L'Assomption Regional County Municipality. It is located on the north shore of the Saint Lawrence River and includes most of Verchères Islands.

Repentigny (French pronunciation: [ʁəpɑ̃tiɲi] ) is an off-island suburb of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It is located north of the city on the lower end of the L'Assomption River, and on the Saint Lawrence River. Repentigny and Charlemagne were the first towns off the eastern tip of the Island of Montreal. Repentigny is part of the Lanaudière region.

Verchères is an off-island suburb of Montreal, in Montérégie, Quebec, located on the south bank of the Saint Lawrence River. The population as of the Canada 2011 Census was 5,692.
