Nerston is a village situated on the northern green-belt boundary of the new town of East Kilbride in South Lanarkshire, Scotland.

Calderwood is a neighbourhood of the Scottish new town of East Kilbride, in South Lanarkshire. It lies on its north-east edge and is one of the largest areas of the town.

Mains Castle is a rectangular tower house dating from the fifteenth century, situated near East Kilbride, South Lanarkshire, Scotland. It is a Category A listed building. The castle was constructed by the Lindsay family to replace Kilbride Castle.

East Kilbride Thistle Football Club are a Scottish football club, based in the town of East Kilbride, South Lanarkshire near Glasgow. Nicknamed The Jags, they were formed in 1968 and play at the Showpark, situated in the Village area of the town. Currently playing in the West of Scotland League Fourth Division. They wear all black; their change strips are all red, or white tops with red or black shorts.

The Village is the oldest part of East Kilbride in South Lanarkshire, Scotland, dating back to well before its designation as a new town in the mid-20th century. Notable landmarks include the East Kilbride Parish Church dating from the 1770s, the Village Theatre and the railway line to Glasgow which terminates at East Kilbride railway station (plus the path of the former continuation of the line towards Hamilton). The Category A listed Dollan Baths are situated in the Town Centre Park which separates the Village from the central area of the town including the indoor East Kilbride Shopping Centre. Of a more traditional character in comparison to the modern facilities in 'the centre', the Village hosts several small pubs, restaurants, hairdressers, cafes, tanning salons and shops. In the oldest part of The Village there is a cobbled street and a large pub, the Montgomerie Arms, the building for which dates back to the 1650s – the "loupin' on stane", used by inn patrons for mounting their horses, still stands outside the premises. East Kilbride Thistle F.C.'s home ground and social club, the Show Park, is also located in the area. Nearby residential neighbourhoods are Calderwood, East Mains and West Mains, which also have some buildings pre-dating the construction of the new town in the 1950s and 60s but were greatly expanded in that era to surround the Village. East Kilbride High School (Known as the old Village High School) was built in 1880 and closed in 1984. Until 2008, it was the home of South Lanarkshire College when it was sold by the college to Tulloch Homes who then demolished the school to make way for new 89 homes – new facilities for the college were built further east within the town.

East Kilbride railway station serves the town of East Kilbride, South Lanarkshire, Scotland. The station is managed by ScotRail and it is a terminus on the former Busby Railway. The station is 11+1⁄2 miles (18.5 km) southeast of Glasgow Central.

Stewartfield is an affluent area of the Scottish new town East Kilbride, in South Lanarkshire. There are no schools in Stewartfield, although there are two primary schools nearby on its south-eastern edge. These are shared with residents from nearby West Mains. St Kenneth's Primary School was the first school in the town to feature a purpose-built parents' car park. The school boasts a 3G artificial surface on its football pitch - to which the school's PTA have yet to grant local children access. Stewartfield is part of the catchment area for St Andrew's and St Bride's High School and Calderglen High School, formerly Hunter High School before it merged with Claremont High School. Stewartfield has a community council and this meets on a regular basis. Stewartfield is on the northern edge of East Kilbride. Stewartfield is home to the James Hamilton Heritage Park, which includes a man-made boating loch and is overlooked by Mains Castle, a 15th-century Category A listed building. The National Museum of Rural Life may also be considered a part of Stewartfield, although it lies to the west of the main residential areas. Both of these, however, lie north of the Stewartfield Way, the traditional northern boundary of East Kilbride. A large sign bearing the name Stewartfield marks the area's western and eastern boundary.

East Kilbride (; Scottish Gaelic: Cille Bhrìghde an Ear [ˈkʲʰiʎə ˈvɾʲiːtʲə əɲ ˈɛɾ]) is the largest town in South Lanarkshire in Scotland, and the country's sixth-largest locality by population. It was also designated Scotland's first new town on 6 May 1947. The area lies on a raised plateau to the south of the Cathkin Braes, about eight miles (thirteen kilometres) southeast of Glasgow and close to the boundary with East Renfrewshire. The town ends close to the White Cart Water to the west and is bounded by the Rotten Calder Water to the east. Immediately to the north of the modern town centre is The Village, the part of East Kilbride that existed before its post-war development into a New Town. East Kilbride is twinned with the town of Ballerup, in Denmark.

East Mains is an area of the Scottish new town East Kilbride, in South Lanarkshire. It lies to the north of the town centre and the Village, between West Mains and Calderwood. East Mains is a large residential area, and also the site of the East Kilbride Arts Centre which holds local exhibitions, art classes and hosts showings of music, theatre and arthouse films. The majority of houses in East Mains were constructed for workers at Rolls-Royce, one of the town's main employers. East Mains is home to East Kilbride's oldest surviving house, Rose Mound. Believed to have been constructed in the early 1640s, the house is now owned by a private company who intend to renovate it and transform its grounds into Residential Flats for the Aged.

East Kilbride Civic Centre is a municipal building in Cornwall Street, East Kilbride, South Lanarkshire, Scotland. The structure was the headquarters of East Kilbride District Council.

West Mains is an area of East Kilbride in South Lanarkshire, Scotland. A residential area in the northwest of the town, West Mains borders College Milton (an industrial estate), the Village, Stewartfield and East Mains. The southern boundary is the Queensway (A726) bypass road, with the neighbourhoods of Westwood and The Murray on the opposite side connected via a pedestrian footbridge and an underpass respectively. East Kilbride railway station falls under the district, and some streets are within walking distance of the town centre. Prior to its development as part of East Kilbride new town in the 1950s, the area was farmland. The oldest houses in the neighbourhood are on Dryburgh Hill (previously associated with Kirkton Mains Holme farm) and Creighton Grove (once Brousterland Farm).There are two primary schools in the area - Kirktonholme and St Kenneth's; both were rebuilt between 2009 and 2010 as part of the local authority's programme. There is a specialised Additional Support Needs facility named West Mains School, but since 2017 its campus has been in East Mains. The local church (aligned with the Free Church of Scotland) is located on Blacklands Road.

Clyde 2 is an Independent Local Radio station based in Glasgow, Scotland, owned and operated by Bauer as part of the Greatest Hits Radio network. It broadcasts to Glasgow and West Central Scotland. As of December 2021, the station has a weekly audience of 116,000 listeners according to RAJAR.
