Kolapakkam

Agasteeswarar Temple is a Hindu temple located at Kolapakkam, a suburb of Chennai, India. While the presiding deity is Shiva, there are shrines for the Navagrahas or nine planets within the temple complex. The Hindu sage Agastya is believed to have worshipped Shiva at this place.

On 28 June 2014, an eleven-storey apartment block collapsed while under construction at Moulivakkam in the suburb of Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. The cause was determined to be a lightning strike to exposed metal at the top, which was conducted through the building and to ground via reinforcement bars embedded in the concrete, which led to failure of support columns and subsequent collapse of the structure. The collapse killed 61 people, mostly construction workers who were trapped in the debris.

The Pallavaram - Kolapakkam Road connects Pallavaram with Kolapakkam via Pammal and Pozhichalur runs along Cowl Bazaar.

Porur Ramanatheswarar Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Shiva, located in the neighbourhood of Porur in Chennai, India. The temple was built in the 8th century CE during the Chola period. The temple is one of the nine Navagraha temples of the Tondai Mandalam and is known as the Guru sthala (lit. place of Guru or Brihaspati).

Porur Lake is located on the fringes of Porur in south-west Chennai and is a primary water resource for people residing in Chennai. It is a temporary catchment area connected with Chembarambakkam Lake. It is spread over 200 acres with a capacity of 46 million cubic feet (mcft). There are four filters working 24x7 to pump water to K. K. Nagar double tank distribution point. Bathing, washing and/or swimming is currently prohibited in this lake from 1995. A better view of the lake can be appreciated from the Chennai bypass.In 2012, the Water Resources Department initiated a project to increase the capacity the tank along with two other lakes in the city at a cost of ₹ 130 crore. This would deepen the lake by at least 1 m and increases the capacity to 70 mcft.

Porur Bypass is an upcoming elevated metro station on the East-West Corridor of the Yellow Line of Chennai Metro in Chennai, India. This metro station will be among the 30 stations of Corridor IV and 12 underground stations along Corridor IV of the Chennai Metro, Poonamallee Bypass–Lighthouse stretch. This station is slated to be commercialized on December 2025.

Pozhichalur (also commonly spelled as Polichalur) is a census town in Chennai metropolitan city in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is a suburb of Chennai and is located close to the Chennai Airport at Tirusulam on its south west side. It lies on the south banks of the Adyar River. Agasteeswarar Temple, which is called North Thirunallaru, is situated there. The neighborhood is served by Pallavaram Railway Station of the Chennai Suburban Railway Network.
