Obrne (pronounced [ˈoːbəɾnɛ]) is a settlement in the Municipality of Bled in the Upper Carniola region of Slovenia.

Multinational Centre of Excellence for Mountain Warfare (MN COEMW; Slovene: Večnacionalni center odličnosti za gorsko bojevanje) is one of NATO Centres of Excellence, located in Bohinjska Bela, Slovenia. It is "responsible for training individuals and units for operation in the mountains and other terrains difficult to pass".Currently Centre is not fully accredited; full accreditation is planned for 2015.

Gorjuše (pronounced [ɡɔˈɾjuːʃɛ]) is a high-elevation settlement on the Pokljuka Plateau in the Municipality of Bohinj in the Upper Carniola region of Slovenia. It is made up of the three disconnected hamlets of Spodnje Gorjuše, Srednje Gorjuše, and Zgornje Gorjuše (literally, 'lower, middle, and upper Gorjuše').

Bled Jezero railway station (Slovene: Železniška postaja Bled Jezero) is the principal railway station in Bled, Slovenia. The station is located above the west coast of Lake Bled. It is connected to the lake and the settlement Zaka by a footpath. It is located on the Jesenice - Sežana railway and train services from Jesenice to Nova Gorica call here approximately once every two hours in each direction, however the timetable is irregular. Some of the services are extended from/to Ljubljana and Sežana.

The Pokljuka Plateau (pronounced [pɔˈkljuːka]) is a forested karst plateau at an elevation of around 1,100 to 1,400 metres (3,600 to 4,600 ft), located in the Julian Alps in northwestern Slovenia. The plateau is known for its forests, mountain pastures (Javornik, Lipanca, Uskovnica, Zajamniki, etc.), and winter sports facilities. It is also a common starting point for mountain hikers. The yearly Biathlon World Cup meets are held at the Pokljuka Biathlon Center, 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) west of the town of Bled (25 kilometres or 16 miles by car). Pokljuka is part of Triglav National Park. Administratively, it belongs to the municipalities of Bled, Bohinj, and Gorje. Many beech and fir trees were chopped down in the 18th century for the iron foundries in Bohinj. They have been naturally replaced mostly by spruce trees. Some swamps can also be found, which is not usual on such high plateaus.

Mlino (pronounced [ˈmliːnɔ], formerly Bled–Mlino; German: Seebach) is a former settlement in the Municipality of Bled in northwestern Slovenia. It is now part of the town of Bled. The area is part of the traditional region of Upper Carniola and is now included with the rest of the municipality in the Upper Carniola Statistical Region.

Lake Bled (Slovene: Blejsko jezero; German: Bleder See, Veldeser See) is a lake in the Julian Alps of the Upper Carniolan region of northwestern Slovenia, where it adjoins the town of Bled. The area is a tourist destination. The lake is 35 km (22 mi) from Ljubljana International Airport and 55 km (34 mi) from the capital city, Ljubljana. Lake Bled is 4.2 km (2.6 mi) from the Lesce–Bled train station.

The 2009–10 Biathlon World Cup – World Cup 3 is the third event of the season and was held in Pokljuka, Slovenia from Thursday December 17 until Sunday December 20, 2009.
