Kingseat is a village in Fife, Scotland, approximately 1.5 miles (2.4 km) northeast of Dunfermline. It was originally a coal mining village with the first pits sunk in the area in 1800. The name of the village is thought locally to have originated from when the king would visit the area to look out onto the River Forth and to Arthur's Seat.

Kelty (Scottish Gaelic: Cailtidh) is a former coal mining village located in Fife, Scotland. Lying in the heart of the old mining heartlands of Fife, it is situated on the Fife/Kinross-shire boundary and has a population of around 6,000 residents. This was nearer to 9,000 when the coal mining industry was still operational in late 1970s and early 1980s.

Keltybridge is a village in Perth and Kinross, Scotland, about one mile north of Kelty, which is across the Fife border. It stands on the northern banks of Kelty Burn.The sites of two coal pits and an engine house depicted on the first edition of the Ordnance Survey 6-inch map (Fife & Kinross, 1856, sheet 30), to the west of Kelty Bridge are now occupied by a modern house.Kelty Bridge is a Category B listed structure.

Kelty Hearts Football Club is a football club based in the village of Kelty in Fife, Scotland. Formed in 1975 and nicknamed the Hearts, the Maroon Machine and the Jambos, they play their home games at New Central Park. Their home colours are maroon shirts, white shorts and maroon socks, while their away colours are typically all blue. Kelty Hearts compete in Scottish League One, having been promoted from Scottish League Two as champions in 2022. The club were previously members of the Scottish Junior Football Association, playing in the Fife League followed by the East Region Superleague. In December 2017 the club became a full SFA member, making them eligible to enter the Scottish Cup and move up through the pyramid system.

Halbeath railway station served the village of Halbeath, Fife, Scotland, from 1851 to 1930 on the Dunfermline Branch.

Halbeath is a village northeast of Dunfermline, Fife, Scotland. It derives its name from the Gaelic choil beath, which means "wood of birches", and began as a colliery village. In the summer of 1789, a coal pit was sunk at Halbeath, two and a half miles northeast of Dunfermline, and by 1821, 841 people were reported to be living in the village.

Carnegie College (formerly Lauder College) was a further education college based in Halbeath, Dunfermline, Fife, Scotland. It was established in 1899, with financial support from George Lauder and Andrew Carnegie and named after their father and uncle, respectively, George Lauder, Sr. In 2007, it was renamed Carnegie College in honour of Andrew Carnegie, Lauder's cousin, the steel magnate and philanthropist born in Dunfermline. On 1 August 2013 Carnegie College and Adam Smith College came together to form Fife College, creating a new college for the region in line with Government legislation. The land-based elements of Scotland’s Rural College, SRUC Elmwood College, were also incorporated in the new Fife College providing a wide range of courses to choose from. Before merging with Adam Smith, Carnegie College had around 11,000 students every year and offered over 350 programs at various levels, from introductory and national qualifications to higher national standards and degrees, delivered through a collegiate model of six schools.

Dunfermline Queen Margaret railway station is a railway station in Dunfermline, Fife, Scotland. The station is managed by ScotRail and is on the Fife Circle Line, 18+1⁄2 miles (29.8 km) north of Edinburgh Waverley. The station takes its name from the nearby Queen Margaret Hospital. It is the longest railway station name in Scotland.

Radio West Fife is one of Scotland's oldest hospital radio stations and broadcasts by landline to the Queen Margaret Hospital in Dunfermline. From its humble beginnings in September 1953, when broadcasting from a shed in the grounds of the West Fife Hospital, the station has grown considerably. This has been achieved partly through the fundraising efforts of the members and partly through sponsorships. In the early days, the station focused on live broadcasts from Dunfermline Athletic Football Club’s home games at East End Park, but now broadcasts a mix of music and specialist output including religious programmes. Following a spell of broadcasting from a caravan at Milesmark Hospital, the station moved to the grounds of Lynebank Hospital in 1993. Some pupils from nearby St Columbus High School volunteer at Radio West Fife as part of school community outreach programmes. The station began broadcasting online as a community radio station on 23 March 2012. In May 2020, Radio West Fife was awarded an FM license from Ofcom.

Dowhill Castle is a ruined castle in Perth and Kinross, Scotland. Sited on a hill near Loch Leven, the oldest part of the castle was built in around 1500 as a tower house. The main structure was extended in around 1600 with additional living space, as well as a tower and turret. The castle had a fortified courtyard (barmkin) to the north with a separate tower. There were probably four storeys but only two still survive. The site was owned for many years by the Crambeth family before it passed to the Lindsay family, who built the castle, at the end of the fourteenth century. A series of legal decisions impoverished the Lindsays and they were forced to sell their estate and castle to William Adam in the mid eighteenth century. Though still fit for use as a gentleman's residence, Adam used the castle to house labourers. The structure decayed into ruin and was given by Adam to his son Robert Adam. The latter Adam, an architect, is thought to have been inspired by the castle in his designs for Seton, Dalquharran, and Culzean castles. The stonework at Dowhill was quarried in the nineteenth century until only the ground floor and part of the first floor remained. The castle received protection as an ancient monument in 1936 and a listed building in 1971.
