Halbeath is a village northeast of Dunfermline, Fife, Scotland. It derives its name from the Gaelic choil beath, which means "wood of birches", and began as a colliery village. In the summer of 1789, a coal pit was sunk at Halbeath, two and a half miles northeast of Dunfermline, and by 1821, 841 people were reported to be living in the village.

It is the longest railway station name in Scotland.

Duloch ( DOO-lokh), or Duloch Park, is a residential suburb of Dunfermline, in Fife, Scotland. The closest railway stations are Rosyth, Dunfermline Queen Margaret, Dunfermline City, Dalgety Bay and Inverkeithing. The lower price of large homes compared to homes across the Forth, as well as its proximity to the M90 motorway, has attracted many Edinburgh commuters. Local amenities include two large supermarkets (Tesco and Aldi) and a small shopping area. The nearby 'Fife Leisure Park' contains a cinema, gym, bowling alley, other leisure facilities and restaurants. Three primary schools serve the area - Masterton, Duloch and Carnegie Primaries. The campus of Duloch Primary school contains a large public library, café, gym, astro turf, several halls used for sports and community classes and Calaiswood, a special needs school. Duloch Park and Calais Muir Wood form the heart of the Duloch suburb, the latter being an ancient woodland owned by Fife Council and maintained by the Fife Coast and Countryside Trust. Duloch Park is mainly open grassland with a large pond to the north, a flooded former quarry. Its flat terrain is one reason for the large number of sustainable urban drainage system ponds in the area.

Wellwood is a small village to the north of Dunfermline, Fife, Scotland. It was named after the Wellwoods who used to own coalmines in the area. It has a leisure centre and a golf course (Canmore). It is nearby the Town Loch and also is partially bordered by Queen Anne High School. It was formerly known as Hawkiesfauld. Wellwood is an old coal mining village. The coal pits in the village were active throughout the nineteenth century and into twentieth.

Abbeyview is a housing estate in the town of Dunfermline in Fife, Scotland. It is situated in the east of the town, approximately 2 miles from the town centre. Most of the streets in the area are named after Scottish rivers and islands.

Kingseat is a village in Fife, Scotland, approximately 1.5 miles (2.4 km) northeast of Dunfermline. It was originally a coal mining village with the first pits sunk in the area in 1800. The name of the village is thought locally to have originated from when the king would visit the area to look out onto the River Forth and to Arthur's Seat.

Radio West Fife is one of Scotland's oldest hospital radio stations and broadcasts by landline to the Queen Margaret Hospital in Dunfermline. From its humble beginnings in September 1953, when broadcasting from a shed in the grounds of the West Fife Hospital, the station has grown considerably. This has been achieved partly through the fundraising efforts of the members and partly through sponsorships. In the early days, the station focused on live broadcasts from Dunfermline Athletic Football Club’s home games at East End Park, but now broadcasts a mix of music and specialist output including religious programmes. Following a spell of broadcasting from a caravan at Milesmark Hospital, the station moved to the grounds of Lynebank Hospital in 1993. Some pupils from nearby St Columbus High School volunteer at Radio West Fife as part of school community outreach programmes. The station began broadcasting online as a community radio station on 23 March 2012. In May 2020, Radio West Fife was awarded an FM license from Ofcom.

Woodmill High School is a local authority run high school in Dunfermline, Scotland. It is one of the city's four high schools. Designs were proposed for the school in 1958 and construction finished in 1960. It was built to serve the expanding estates of Abbeyview, Touch, Brucefield and Garvock. The name Woodmill comes from the former purpose of the land it was built on. It was initially a secondary school, but was upgraded to full high school status in 1968. The catchment area includes Duloch, Carnegie, Touch and Linburn.
