The School District of Manatee County, in Manatee County, Florida, provides education to over 50,000 students. It employs over 7,000 people. Lake Manatee State Park (Lake Manatee State Recreation Area) is a 556-acre (2.3 km2) State Park in the U.S. state of Florida, located on the south shore of 2,400-acre (10 km2) Lake Manatee. It is 9 miles (14 km) east of I-75 on State Road 64 in Bradenton. It is made up of pine flatwoods, Sand Pine scrub, marshes, and hardwood forests. Activities include canoeing and kayaking, camping, boating, picnicking, swimming. Among the wildlife of the park are alligators, turtles, osprey. Amenities include a 60-site campground, boat ramp, dock, and picnic area. The park is open from 8:00 am till sundown year-round.

The school was opened in 2022 and has been named after the master planned community it borders, Lakewood Ranch.In 2022, Lakewood Ranch Preparatory Academy was selected by Brain Health Initiative (BHI) for Schools for Brain Health program to support the brain health and performance. This program teaches students the importance of brain health and it's effects on lifestyle.As of 2022, and while the new building is nearing completion, Lakewood Ranch Preparatory Academy offers education from kindergarten to grade 6 and also grade 9. The new building which will house the middle school (grades 6-8) and high school (grades 9-12) will be completed by Fall of 2023. The building has been constructed by companies Red Apple Development and Ryan Cos.Dr.Cheryl Cendan and Bradley Warren have been appointed as principals for the school.

Foxleigh is an unincorporated area in Manatee County, Florida, in the United States. Foxleigh was a 999-acre grove ranch located along Upper Manatee Road and off State Road 64 in northeastern Manatee County. It began as Eagle Fruit Farms, its more familiar name, and was operated by Eagle Fruit Company. Eagle Fruit Company In 1923, Sam Breadon (1876-1949), owner/president of the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team entered into a partnership with William H. Anderson (1855-1938), a Cardinals stockholder to establish Eagle Fruit Company. Breadon was keen on farming and had recently chosen Bradenton as the spring training headquarters of the Cardinals. The partnership ended in 1934, when Breadon sustained a loss of $7,000 and subsequent time in court. In the end, the company was dissolved in 1935.Foxleigh Missouri-based Gertrude Fox made the ranch her private estate when she purchased it in 1939, renaming it “Foxleigh”. She ran a mink farm and was the author of books on fur making. Fox subsequently sold the property in 1945 to the Lee Company, and shortly after, a fire destroyed the farm. In 1948, the now 918-acre farm was put up for sale, and Eagle Fruit Farms, Inc. name was officially dissolved. A portion of the former ranch was sold off in 1952, for a planned dairy and cattle ranch. In 1968, a legal notice in the Bradenton Herald listed the property as abandoned. Eventually, the property was developed and is now part of the fast-growing northeastern Manatee County area. As of 2021, the site is occupied by the Gates Creek subdivision.

The 2021 WGC-Workday Championship was a golf tournament that was played February 25–28 at The Concession Golf Club in Bradenton, Florida. It was the 22nd and final time the WGC Championship has been played and the first of the World Golf Championships events to be staged in 2021. The event was originally scheduled to take place in Mexico, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the event was moved to Florida in January 2021. On February 16, it was announced Workday, Inc. would become the new title sponsor.Collin Morikawa won the event by three strokes over Billy Horschel, Viktor Hovland, and Brooks Koepka.
