Lake Manatee is an artificial reservoir located in Manatee County, Florida. State Road 64 crosses the eastern end of the lake, while the Lake Manatee State Park is found at the southwestern end. The Manatee River flows into the lake at the eastern end, then continues to the west, where it flows into Tampa Bay. Lake Manatee is a major source of water for Bradenton and other cities in Manatee County, providing 32 million US gallons (120,000,000 L; 27,000,000 imp gal) per day. Lake Manatee State Park is located on the south shore of the lake.

Lake Manatee State Park (Lake Manatee State Recreation Area) is a 556-acre (2.3 km2) State Park in the U.S. state of Florida, located on the south shore of 2,400-acre (10 km2) Lake Manatee. It is 9 miles (14 km) east of I-75 on State Road 64 in Bradenton. It is made up of pine flatwoods, Sand Pine scrub, marshes, and hardwood forests. Activities include canoeing and kayaking, camping, boating, picnicking, swimming. Among the wildlife of the park are alligators, turtles, osprey. Amenities include a 60-site campground, boat ramp, dock, and picnic area. The park is open from 8:00 am till sundown year-round.

The 2021 WGC-Workday Championship was a golf tournament that was played February 25–28 at The Concession Golf Club in Bradenton, Florida. It was the 22nd and final time the WGC Championship has been played and the first of the World Golf Championships events to be staged in 2021. The event was originally scheduled to take place in Mexico, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the event was moved to Florida in January 2021. On February 16, it was announced Workday, Inc. would become the new title sponsor.Collin Morikawa won the event by three strokes over Billy Horschel, Viktor Hovland, and Brooks Koepka.

It was built in 2015 and completed in 2017 by Johnson Brothers Corporation and was designed by AECOM (initially as URS before acquisition). The name of the bridge comes from the former fort of the same name that resided nearby the bridge during the Seminole Wars.
