Fukushima Station (Osaka)

Fukushima-ku (福島区) is one of 24 wards of Osaka city in Japan. The ward is primarily a residential quarter, but has some office buildings and a commercial district, as well as factories and wholesale businesses. In recent years, many high rise apartment buildings and office buildings have been built in this ward, because it is close to the Umeda and Dōjima business centers. As of 1 August 2008, the ward has a population of 63,237, and an area of 4.67 km2 (1.80 sq mi). It is bordered by the Yodo River on the north, and the Dōjima River on the south.

Shimo-fukushima Park (下福島公園, Shimo-Fukushima-Kōen) is a public urban park, situated at 4 chōme Fukushima in Fukushima-ku, Osaka, Japan. The park was constructed at the site of the former spinning factory of the Dai-Nihon Spinning Company (current company is Unitika, Ltd.), and is the largest park in Fukushima ward. In the park, spinning factory's old brick wall constructed around 1894 remains, which stopped the fire from air raids during World War II. There is a legend that here is a cradle place of Wisteria floribunda (Japanese:Noda-Fuji), some Wisteria floribunda is cultivated even today in the park. Fuji-An garden (Japanese Fuji-An no Niwa) where Toyotomi Hideyoshi and Ashikaga Yoshiakira visited, is also restored in the park. In 2001, the public pool and training centre were renovated and are currently operated by Konami Sports Co.Ltd.

The Osaka Guard District (大阪警備府, Osaka Keibifu) was a major navy base for the Imperial Japanese Navy in central Japan during World War II. Located at Osaka 34°42′04″N 135°27′50″E), Osaka Guard District was responsible for guarding the approach to the old capital of Kyoto, the Kansai industrial zone, port of Kobe and the Inland Sea of Japan.

King Mansion Dōjimagawa (キングマンション堂島川) is a high rise apartment building, situated at 1-1-36 Tamagawa, Fukushima-ku, Osaka, Japan. This building was once highest in Fukushima ward, when constructed on 1998. Also is face to Dōjima River and Dōjima Ōhashi bridge.

Located adjacent to the convention center is underground Nakanoshima Station served by Keihan Electric Railway Nakanoshima Line as the terminus.
