Dearborn Station (also referred to as Polk Street Depot) was, beginning in the late 1800s, one of six intercity train stations serving downtown Chicago, Illinois. It remained in operation until May 1, 1971. Built in 1883, it is located at Dearborn and Polk Streets, adjacent to Printers Row. The station was owned by the Chicago & Western Indiana Railroad, which itself was owned by the companies operating over its line. The station is now a shopping mall housing office, retail, and entertainment spaces.

The Lakeside Press Building is a historic commercial building located at 731 S. Plymouth Ct. in downtown Chicago, Illinois. The building served as a showroom, office, and printing press for the Lakeside Press. The building was built in two stages; the southern half was completed in 1897, while the northern half was finished in 1901. Architect Howard Van Doren Shaw designed the building, his first design of a commercial building. Shaw's design features limestone quoins, piers, and decorations, curtain walls with cast iron spandrels on the floors housing the printing presses, and a projecting cornice.The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on June 23, 1976.In 1985 the building was converted to residential use, and was purchased by Columbia College Chicago in 1993 as its first residence hall. Columbia sold the building in 2017 for $20 million, and continued leasing it through the 2018–19 academic year.

Printers Row Park is a 0.38 acre public park in Printer's Row, Chicago. Printers Row Park was formerly named Park No. 543. In summer, it hosts a farmer's market.

Printer's Row, also known as Printing House Row, is a neighborhood located in the south of the Chicago downtown area known as the Loop. The heart of Printer's Row is generally defined by Ida B. Wells Drive on the north, Polk Street on the south, Plymouth Court on the east, and the Chicago River on the west. This neighborhood overlaps significantly with the officially designated landmark Printing House Row District to the north of Ida B Wells Drive and the South Loop Printing House District to the south of the Drive. The neighborhood includes Dearborn Station, which is also on the National Register of Historic Places. Many of the buildings in this area were used by printing and publishing businesses. Today, the buildings have mainly been converted into residential lofts with the last remaining printer, Palmer Printing, Inc., near the corner of Clark and Polk streets, selling to residential developers in early 2018.

The Fairbanks, Morse and Company Building is a historic commercial building located at 900 S. Wabash Ave. in the South Loop, Chicago, Illinois. The building served as the national headquarters of Fairbanks, Morse and Company from 1907 to 1937. The company sold a variety of agricultural equipment; while it was originally known for its scales, by 1907 it was best known for producing internal combustion engines. At its peak, the company was one of the largest engine makers in the world, and it was particularly dominant in the diesel engine market. The headquarters building is a seven-story Chicago school building designed by Christian Eckstorm. While the company moved to a larger headquarters at 606 S. Michigan Ave. in 1937, the Wabash Avenue building is the best-preserved remnant of its historic significance and still bears the company's name above the second floor.The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on November 16, 1988.

The YMCA Hotel is a historic former hotel located in the Loop community area of Chicago, Illinois. The hotel, which was designed by Robert C. Berlin and James Gamble Rogers, opened in 1916. Originally marketed by YMCA as a cheap residence for young, single men, the hotel began marketing to a wider clientele when the Great Depression created a demand for inexpensive lodging. The hotel's status and customers declined with the surrounding neighborhood, and it closed in 1979; it reopened as an apartment building in 1985. The hotel was added to the National Register of Historic Places on August 30, 1989.

William Jones College Preparatory High School (commonly known as Jones College Prep) is a public 4-year selective-enrollment high school located in the Printer's Row neighborhood in downtown Chicago, Illinois, United States. Jones is operated by the Chicago Public Schools district. Jones was named one of “America’s Best High Schools” for 2010 by Newsweek magazine. Named for Chicago's first school superintendent, William Jones, the school has undergone several name changes related to its focus, from Jones Commercial High School, to Jones Metropolitan High School of Business and Commerce, to Jones Academic Magnet High School. Jones adopted its current name and focus on college preparatory education in August 1998.

The Ludington Building is the earliest-surviving, steel-frame building in Chicago, Illinois. It is located in the Chicago Loop community area. It was designed by William Le Baron Jenney and was named a Chicago Landmark on June 10, 1996. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on May 8, 1980. The Ludington Building "was commissioned by Mary Ludington Barnes for the American Book Company"; presently it is one of twenty buildings that comprise the campus of Columbia College Chicago.

Eleven City Diner is a diner and delicatessen in Chicago, with a second location in Los Angeles. The deli opened in 2006 in the South Loop neighborhood, and was an early example of a new generation of Jewish delis in the United States, inspired in part by the nostalgia of traditional Jewish delis. Eleven City gives out fortune cookies on Christmas Eve, in a reference to the historical tie between Chinese cuisine and Jewish culture. Still sticking to tradition, the diner has its own version of the "Woody Allen" corned beef sandwich invented by the Carnegie Deli in New York City. Eleven City was featured on Season 3 of the Cooking Channel Unique Eats TV show. Its Mexican Scramble was featured on the Food Network. Eleven City is also known for its milkshakes and house-made root beer.The deli formerly had a location in Chicago's Lincoln Park neighborhood which operated from 2013 to 2017.

The British International School of Chicago, South Loop is a private international school located in the South Loop area of Chicago. BISC-SL offers education for ages 3 to 18 (UK Nursery to Year 13/US Pre-K to Grade 12).

Buddy Guy's Legends is a blues club in Chicago, Illinois. It was opened in 1989 by blues musician Buddy Guy who still owns the club and who still makes regular appearances, performing a month of shows each January.Legends is one of the few blues clubs left in Chicago, a city renowned for its own particular brand of blues. The club has hosted blues greats such as Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Buddy himself. Legends has developed an international reputation. It was the site for recordings such as Guy's Live at Legends, Junior Wells: Live at Buddy Guy's Legends, and Guy's live set with Junior Wells entitled Last Time Around - Live at Legends. Each year, Legends hosts the annual Chicago Blues Hall of Fame induction celebration.

The passenger depot of the New York, Chicago and St. Louis Railroad (Nickel Plate Road) in Chicago, was located at the northwest corner of Roosevelt Road (12th Street) and Clark Street, just east of the main line of the Lake Shore and Michigan Southern Railway to its LaSalle Street Station. It operated at the Nickel Plate Depot from 1892 until 1898 when the railroad became a tenant at LaSalle, which it continued to use until it abandoned passenger service in 1965.In 2007, Centrum Properties announced plans for a mixed-use development on the site of the rail yards with a Target department store occupying the location where the station once stood. Because of the Financial crisis of 2007–2008, much of the Roosevelt Collection remained vacant for several years after it was completed. Though the project cost Centrum $350 million to construct, it sold the complex in March 2011 for approximately $160-175.
