Avigliana (Italian: [aviʎˈʎaːna]; Piedmontese: Vijan-a [viˈjɑŋa]; French: Veillane) is a town and comune (municipality) in the Metropolitan City of Turin in the Piedmont region or Italy, with 12,129 inhabitants as of January 1, 2023. It lies about 25 kilometres (16 mi) west of Turin in the Susa valley, on the highway going from Turin to Frejus, France. It is best known for two maar lakes, Lago Grande and Lago Piccolo. Also nearby is the massive Sacra di San Michele.

The Lakes of Avigliana Natural Park (Italian: Parco naturale dei laghi di Avigliana) is a nature reserve in Piedmont, Italy. Established in 1980, it covers the area surrounding the eponymous maar lakes and the Mareschi swamp (the westernmost swamp in Italy), in the lower Val Susa, between Monte Pirchiriano and the hill of Rivoli.Since 2009 the park, located entirely in the territory of Avigliana in the Province of Turin, has been managed by the Ente di gestione delle aree protette delle Alpi Cozie, along with the Val Troncea, Orsiera-Rocciavrè and Gran Bosco di Salbertrand natural parks and the natural reserves of the gorges of Foresto and Chianocco.The park's fauna includes herons, coots, ducks, common moorhens, great crested grebes, little grebes, black kites, Eurasian bitterns, Eurasian treecreepers, lesser spotted woodpeckers, brown frogs, great cormorants, and pheasants; the fish in the lakes include Eurasian carps, Northern pikes, European perches, Largemouth basses, and Italian chubs.

San Giovanni Vincenzo (Saint John Vincent) is a late-Baroque style, Roman Catholic parish church located in the town of Sant'Ambrogio di Torino, in the Metropolitan City of Turin in the region of Piedmont, Italy. The church was designed by the Piedmontese architect Bernardo Vittone.

The Giardino Botanico Rea is a botanical garden located 450 meters altitude in Val Sangone, at Trana, Province of Turin, Piedmont, northern Italy. The garden was founded in 1967 by Giuseppe Giovanni Bellia as a private institution. In 1968 it began to publish a newsletter, entitled "Rea" in 1969, and dedicated to Giovanni Francesco Rea (1773–1833), one of the earliest botanists to study flora of the Val Susa and Val Sangone. In the 1970s Bellia created collections of exotic plants, particularly succulents, and explored the Val Sangone collecting its rare plants. In 1989 the Garden was purchased by the Piedmont Region to become part of the Museo Regionale di Scienze Naturali di Torino, and in 1992 it opened to the public. Today the garden contains more than 2,500 species. The garden's main sections include rare and critically endangered species of the foothills; local trees, shrubs, and Pteridophyta; aquatic plants, succulents, carnivorous plants, and epiphytes; rustic trees and shrubs; medical and aromatic plants; food and honey plants; ornamental plants; and textile plants. Of particular note are its collections of succulents (more than 200 specimens), carnivorous plants (e.g. Aldrovanda vesiculosa and Dionaea muscipula) grown in heated greenhouses, and rare local species.

The Sacra di San Michele, sometimes known as Saint Michael's Abbey, is a religious complex on Mount Pirchiriano, situated on the south side of the Val di Susa in the territory of the municipality of Sant'Ambrogio di Torino, in the Metropolitan City of Turin, Piedmont region of northwestern Italy. The abbey, which for much of its history was under Benedictine rule, is now entrusted to the Rosminians. A special regional law acknowledges it as the "Symbolic monument of the Piedmont region". This monumental abbey served as one of the inspirations for the book The Name of the Rose by Umberto Eco.

Musinè is well known for the high cross on its peak, as well as for being the mountain closest to Turin. It is visible from the Piedmontese plateau and from the mountains in the provinces of Biella and Vercelli.

Villarbasse is a comune (municipality) in the Metropolitan City of Turin in the Italian region Piedmont, located about 20 kilometres (12 mi) west of Turin. Villarbasse borders the following municipalities: Rivoli, Rosta, Reano, Rivalta di Torino, and Sangano. It was the seat of the last application of capital punishment in Italy on March 4, 1947, following the Villarbasse massacre.
