Farvagny

The canton of Fribourg, also canton of Freiburg (French: canton de Fribourg [kɑ̃tɔ̃ d(ə) fʁibuʁ]; German: Kanton Freiburg [ˈfraɪbʊrɡ] (listen); Arpitan: Canton de Fribôrg [cɛ̃ˈtɔ̃ də fʁiˈbwa] (listen)) is located in western Switzerland. The canton is bilingual, with French spoken by more than two thirds of the citizens and German by a little more than a quarter. Both are official languages in the canton. The canton takes its name from its capital city of Fribourg.

The chapel of Notre-Dame de Posat is a Roman Catholic chapel located in the village of Posat of the Gibloux commune, canton of Fribourg, Switzerland. It is listed as a heritage site of national significance.

Vuisternens-en-Ogoz (French: [vɥistɛʁnɑ̃s ɑ̃n‿ɔɡo]; Arpitan: Vouéthèrnens [vwɛθɛʁˈnɛ̃] (listen)) is a former municipality in the district of Sarine in the canton of Fribourg in Switzerland. On 1 January 2016 it merged with Corpataux-Magnedens, Farvagny, Le Glèbe and Rossens to form the new municipality of Gibloux.

The A12 motorway, an Autobahn in western Switzerland, is a divided highway connecting the A9 to the A1.The A12 runs from the A9 in Vevey along the Freiburger Alps via Fribourg to the A1 in Bern and thus represents an important link to Western Switzerland. The A12 acts as the main route of the Canton of Freiburg and crosses the Canton area in the diagonal of Chatel-Saint-Denis (in the southwest) to the Flamatt in the northeast. Since 1981, the entire highway has been open to traffic. A scenic location on the Lac de la Gruyère is the resting place de Gruyère, with its adjacent hotel.

Rossens (French: [ʁɔsɑ̃s], Franco-Provençal: [ʁɔˈʃɛ̃] (listen)) is a former municipality in the district of Sarine in the canton of Fribourg in Switzerland. On 1 January 2016 it merged with Corpataux-Magnedens, Farvagny, Le Glèbe and Vuisternens-en-Ogoz to form the new municipality of Gibloux.

Le Glèbe (French: [lə ɡlɛb]; Arpitan: Le Gllèbe) is a former municipality in the district of Sarine in the canton of Fribourg in Switzerland. It was created on 1 January 2003 by the union of Estavayer-le-Gibloux, Rueyres-Saint-Laurent, Villarlod, and Villarsel-le-Gibloux. On 1 January 2016 it merged with Corpataux-Magnedens, Farvagny, Rossens and Vuisternens-en-Ogoz to form the new municipality of Gibloux.

Gibloux (French: [ʒiblu]; Arpitan: Dzubyà [dzyˈbjɑ]) is a municipality in the district of Sarine in the canton of Fribourg in Switzerland. The municipality was formed 1 January 2016, from the merger of Corpataux-Magnedens, Farvagny, Le Glèbe, Rossens and Vuisternens-en-Ogoz.

Pont-en-Ogoz (French pronunciation: ​[pɔ̃.t‿ɑ̃.n‿ɔɡo]) is a municipality in the district of Gruyère in the canton of Fribourg in Switzerland. In 1970 the village of Pont-en-Ogoz merged with Villars-d'Avry into the municipality of Le Bry. Then, in 2003 the municipalities of Le Bry, Avry-devant-Pont and Gumefens merged to form a bigger Pont-en-Ogoz.

The Île d'Ogoz (French pronunciation: ​[il dɔɡo]; Arpitan: Ila d’Ôgo) is an island in the Lake of Gruyère, located in the canton of Fribourg. It has a length of 130 metres and a width of about 70 metres. Its highest point is 688 metres above sea level or 11 metres above lake level (677 m). The distance from the shore is 160 metres. On the island are a ruined castle and a church. Before the completion of the Rossens Dam, it was a promontory overlooking the valley of the Sarine. It then became an island after the valley was flooded. When the level of the lake is at its lowest, the island becomes a 500-metre-long peninsula accessible to pedestrians. Politically the island belongs to the municipality of Pont-en-Ogoz in the district of Gruyère.

Le Gibloux (1,204 m) is a mountain of the Swiss Prealps, overlooking the Lake of Gruyère in the canton of Fribourg. The Gibloux Radio Tower, operated by Swisscom, is located on the mountain's southern summit, with an accessible public viewing platform, and views stretching in every direction.

Gibloux Radio Tower is built on the 1204 metre Le Gibloux mountain above Sorens, west of Fribourg, Switzerland. The concrete tower has a height of 118.7 m (389 ft). The observation deck is at 37 m (121 ft).

Cottens railway station (French: Gare de Cottens, German: Bahnhof Cottens) is a railway station in the municipality of Cottens, in the Swiss canton of Fribourg. It is an intermediate stop on the standard gauge Lausanne–Bern line of Swiss Federal Railways.
