Senèdes (French: [sənɛd], Franco-Provençal: [ʃəˈnedə] (listen)) is a former municipality in the district of Sarine in the canton of Fribourg in Switzerland. On 1 January 2021 the former municipalities of Arconciel, Ependes and Senèdes merged to form the new municipality of Bois-d'Amont.

Sales is a village and former municipality in the district of Sarine in the canton of Fribourg, Switzerland. It was first recorded in 1082 as Sala. The municipality had 114 inhabitants in 1811, which went up and down to 191 in 1850, 160 in 1870, 226 in 1920, 175 in 1930, 213 in 1941 and 153 in 1970. In 1977 the municipality was incorporated into the larger, neighboring municipality Ependes.

Observatory Robert A. Naef (French: Observatoire Robert-A. Naef) is an astronomical observatory located at Épendes, Canton of Fribourg, Switzerland at 7.13938 degrees east of Greenwich and 46.76236 degrees north latitude. Its parallax constants are : ρ sin φ' = 0.68632 (Earth radii from the rotation axis) and ρ cos φ' = +0.72501 (Earth radii from the equatorial plane). The observatory was named in memory of Robert Adolf Naef (1907–1975). The minor planet 1906 Naef was named in his honour.

The French name Nuithonie is rarely used. The name for the region is obsolete; today, it is only used to distinguish Fribourg (German: Freiburg im Üechtland) from Freiburg (or Freiburg im Breisgau) in Germany. However, old documents also mention Bern im Üechtland or Verona im Üechtland, by which Verona, as a Latinized name for Bern, is distinguished from Verona in Italy (historically known in German as Bern and sometimes as Wälsch-Bern).

Hauterive Abbey (French: Abbaye d’Hauterive) is a Cistercian abbey in the Swiss municipality of Hauterive in the canton of Fribourg. It is a Swiss heritage site of national significance. The entire Hauterive area is part of the Inventory of Swiss Heritage Sites.
