Santa Maria Assunta is a Renaissance church in Genoa, Italy. It is located in a residential sector called Carignano located on the hills just above the city center, thus the church is also known as Santa Maria Assunta di Carignano.

Sarzano/Sant'Agostino is a Genoa Metro station, located in the historical centre of Genoa, Italy. The main entrance is in the Piazza di Sarzano near the Church of St. Augustine, now deconsecrated and turned into a museum, with a second entrance on the Mura della Marina, the old seawall. It is the newest station, having opened on 3 April 2006, about a year after the easterly terminus at De Ferrari.

San Donato is a church in Genoa, Northern Italy. The interior contains a Madonna by the 14th-century painter Nicolò da Voltri; a St Joseph It dates from the 12th century and is in Romanesque style. It became a parish under archbishop Siro il Porcello, and was consecrated on May 1, 1189. After the bombardment of 1684 it was restored several times, being again consecrated on December 4, 1892. Other restorations in 1946-1951 have kept its Romanesque appearance. , by Domenico Piola; and a marble relief of the Baptism of Christ, started by Ignazio Peschiera and completed by his pupil Carlo Rubatto. There is also a triptych (1515) by Joos van Cleve representing The Adoration of the Magi; the person who commissioned the work Stefano Raggi with Guardian Saint ; and a Mary Magdalen. This is topped by a Crucifixion scene with Mary and St John the Evangelist.

The Oratorio di San Giacomo della Marina (translated as Oratory of St. James of the Marina) is a small chapel or prayer-house at the dockside in Genoa, northern Italy. Erected in 1453, the oratory was rebuilt and decorated in the 17th century. The confraternity was active in religious processions during past centuries.

The historic center of Genoa is the core of the old town organized in the maze of alleys (caruggi) of medieval origin that runs - from east to west - from the hill of Carignano (Genoa) to the Genova Piazza Principe railway station, close to what was once the Palazzo del Principe, residence of Admiral Andrea Doria. Urbanistically, the area is part of Municipio I Centro-Est. However, the current municipal area was created by the merger, which took place on several occasions starting in the second half of the 19th century, of historic Genoa with adjacent municipalities and towns (now neighborhoods), some of which have more or less ancient historic centers of their own and have been urbanistically revolutionized over the years. The major urban planning operations carried out from the first half of the 19th century to beyond the middle of the 20th (which are difficult to replicate today, given the increased interest in the protection of historic neighborhoods by the public administration), combined with the damage that occurred during World War II (many of the old buildings were destroyed during the Allied bombing raids), partly disrupted the original fabric of the historic center. Slightly less than a quarter of the buildings (23.5 percent) date from the postwar period or later.

Santa Maria di Castello is a church and religious complex in Genoa, Italy. Administrated for a long time by the Dominicans, it is located in the Castello hill of the city, where in the Middle Ages a bishop's fortified castle existed. The church is flanked by the large Tower of the Embriaci. The church, in Romanesque style, was erected before 900 AD. It houses many artworks commissioned by the main noble families of Genoa, by artists such as Francesco Maria Schiaffino, Lorenzo Fasolo, Alessandro Gherardini, Giuseppe Palmieri, Francesco Boccaccino, Pier Francesco Sacchi, Bernardo Castello, Aurelio Lomi and Tommaso Orsolino. Notable are the frescoes with Stories of David and the painted majolicas from the 16th century Genoese school. The high altar is decorated by a marble group of the "Assumption" by Domenico Parodi (late 17th century), while the chapel to the left of the presbytery has a Santa Rosa da Lima by Domenico Piola and a marble cover by Taddeo Carlone. The fourth chapel in the left aisle has a Madonna del Rosario by the workshop of Anton Maria Maragliano, while the first chapel has a painting attributed to Giovanni Battista Paggi (early 17th century). The baptistery has a polyptych from Lombard masters of the 15th century. The main portal is in Tuscan style (mid-15th century), and is surmounted by a Gothic lunette of the 14th century with a "Crucifixion". The loggia facing the second cloister has frescoes of Saints, a Madonna and, on the first floor, an Annunciation by Giusto d'Alemagna (1451). In the upper floor has a statue of "St. Catherina of Alexandria" and a marble tabernacle attributed to Domenico Gagini (15th century).

The Torre Embriaci, also called Torre degli Embriaci, located in the oldest area of Genoa, where the Castello o Castrum stood. It is the only one of the numerous towers that were located in the current historic center of Genoa to have been spared by the edict of 1196 which wanted to cut all the city towers to 80 palms.

Piacentini Tower (Italian: Torre Piacentini), also known as Terrazza Martini Tower (Italian: Torre della Terrazza Martini), is a highrise building located in Genoa, Italy. Construction on the building began in 1935, and finished in 1940. It was designed by Marcello Piacentini and Angelo Invernizzi. It has 31 floors, and contains office spaces. Its roof height is 108 m, and counting its spire, the full building height is 116 m.At the time of construction it was the tallest building in Europe, until 1952, when the Kotelnicheskaya Embankment was built in Moscow.

The Biblioteca Civica Berio (est. 1775) of Genoa, Italy, is a public library founded by Carlo Giuseppe Vespasiano Berio. Around 1998 it moved into the former Seminario arcivescovile di Genova in the Carignano quartiere. Among its collections is the library of Demetrio Canevari.

The Palazzo della Nuova Borsa Valori is a historical building in Genoa, located in Piazza De Ferrari, also known as the Palazzo della Borsa. Built by engineers Dario Carbone and Amedeo Pieragostini, its architecture recalls the Neo-16th century style, while the interiors, by Adolfo Coppedè, are inspired by the Liberty style. The architecture and decorations were intended to highlight the financial power that the Genoese market, due to its high volume of business, expressed at the beginning of the 20th century, when it was the first Italian stock exchange.
