Swan School, Oxford

Marston is a village in the civil parish of Old Marston about 2 miles (3 km) northeast of the centre of Oxford, England. It was absorbed within the city boundaries in 1991. It is commonly called Old Marston to distinguish it from the suburb of New Marston that developed between St. Clement's and the village in the 19th and 20th centuries. The A40 Northern Bypass, part of the Oxford Ring Road forms a long north-west boundary of the village and parish and a limb, namely a distributary, of the Cherwell forms the western boundary.

The Victoria Arms (known locally as the Vicky Arms and formerly as the Ferry Inn) is a pub on the eastern bank of the River Cherwell at the end of Mill Lane close to Old Marston, northeast of Oxford, England.There was once a ford across the Cherwell here, in use since the 12th century. An inn was originally constructed during the 17th century and was then rebuilt in 1840. It was closed in 1958 and bought by the Oxford Preservation Trust in 1961. Publicans Fred and Ruby Elkins took over the buildings and operated the pub as a free house. During this time they added extensions to the old buildings. They also operated the small wooden line-ferry across the Cherwell for many years before the opening of the link road. It was later leased to the brewery Wadworth's, refurbished, and reopened in 1986. The pub is frequented by people out punting during the summer. It is possible to moor punts in the grounds of the pub. There was a line-ferry across the river here until 1971, when the Marston Ferry Road was built just to the south.The Victoria Arms featured in the Inspector Morse television series a number of times. Most notably, Morse recited part of the A. E. Housman poem How Clear, How Lovely Bright here in the final episode of the series. A line from the poem was used for the title of the episode "The Remorseful Day".

Marston Ferry Road is a link road in north Oxford, England. It is named after the ferry that used to cross the River Cherwell at the village of Marston from at least 1279.The road links the Banbury Road in North Oxford just south of Summertown, continuing as Moreton Road to the Woodstock Road, with Cherwell Drive in Marston, continuing as Headley Way to Headington to the southeast. It is a modern link road with a bridge over the River Cherwell about halfway along, opened on 12 November 1971.As the name implies, there was previously a ferry over the river. This latterly consisted of a punt a little to the north that could be pulled from one bank to the other using a tow rope, and carried pedestrians and bicycles only. The link road was constructed in 1971.At the western end is Cherwell School. Oxford High School (on Belbroughton Road) is to the south. In 2021 the Swan School, located on the eastern end of the road, was officially opened.There are a number of sports fields and facilities in the vicinity. For example, the Oxford Cavaliers play rugby at the Oxford Harlequins Rugby Union Football Club here, and the Ferry Sports Centre run by the Oxford City Council, which includes a swimming pool, is off the road to the north.Just to the north on the east bank of the river is the Victoria Arms (or "Vicky Arms"), a public house frequented by people out punting. It is possible to moor punts in the grounds of the pub. The road is designated the B4495.

New Marston Meadows is a 44.7-hectare (110-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest in Oxford in Oxfordshire.These meadows in the floodplain of the River Cherwell are traditionally managed for hay or by grazing. Some plants are typical of those on ancient meadows, such as common meadow-rue, pepper-saxifrage, devil's-bit scabious, adder's-tongue fern, smooth brome and meadow barley. Snake's head fritillary, which is nationally scarce, is also found at the site.

New Marston is a suburb about 1.25 miles (2 km) northeast of the centre of Oxford, England.

Marston Road is a road in the east of Oxford, England. It links London Place, the junction of St Clements, the foot of Headington Hill (Headington Road), and Morrell Avenue by South Park to the south with the suburb of New Marston to the north. A mini-roundabout has been replaced by traffic lights and connects with Cherwell Drive and Headley Way at the northern end. To the north is the suburb of Northway. The road is designated the B4150 but this is not shown on signs. The striking new building for the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies with its prominent dome and minaret is located on the west side of Marston Road, next to land owned by Magdalen College. There are also Oxford college sport's grounds and a lane linking to Mesopotamia and the University Parks.St Clement's Church is at the southern end of the road. The original St Clement's Church was located at The Plain near Magdalen Bridge but this was demolished in 1829, after the new church had been built in 1827–28. Marston United Reformed Church is at 352 Marston Road. The Rivers of Life evangelical church meet here.

Dame's Delight was a place for women to bathe on the bank of the River Cherwell in the meadows near the Oxford University Parks opposite Mesopotamia Walk in Oxford, England.The site existed from 1934 to 1970, when it closed because of maintenance difficulties caused by flooding.A similar bathing area Parson's Pleasure for nude male bathing, also existed nearby until 1991. It had been established at a much earlier date; both sites are now part of the folklore of Oxford University. Dame's Delight inspired the title of a 1964 novel by Margaret Forster.

Rainbow Bridge (formally High Bridge) is a curved footbridge over the River Cherwell in the University Parks, Oxford, England. The bridge is made of concrete with metal railings, in the shape of a rainbow, hence the name. The bridge was constructed in 1923–4, through a project for the unemployed. The bridge was financed by the University of Oxford, colleges at the University, and individual subscribers.In the summer months, there are often punts travelling along the river under the bridge and there is a good view up and down the river from the top. On the other side of the bridge from the Parks there is a footpath that leads across the meadows to the suburb of New Marston GW.

Milham Ford School was a girls' secondary school in Oxford, England, located in the suburb of New Marston on Marston Road. It was founded in East Oxford in the 1880s and closed in 2003.

The Cherwell Boathouse (also "Boat House") is a boathouse and restaurant on the River Cherwell in Oxford, England. It is located down a small lane off the junction between Chadlington Road and Bardwell Road, which itself is off the Banbury Road in North Oxford. The land was leased by the Oxford University Boat Club waterman Tom Tims from St John's College, Oxford for a landing stage for punts in 1901. The boathouse was built in 1904 and was known as Tims's for the first forty years. Punts and small rowing boats can be rented for use on the river. A restaurant and riverside café can be found on the same site. It is very popular with tourists and students in the summer. Upstream, punts can be taken to the Victoria Arms, Marston, a public house. Downstream, punts can be taken past the University Parks and Parson's Pleasure. Rollers must be used to take punts past the weir at that point to Mesopotamia. Immediately to the north of the Cherwell Boathouse is Wolfson College and to the south is the Dragon School. On the opposite bank to the east are water-meadows.

Parson's Pleasure in the University Parks at Oxford, England, was a secluded area for male-only nude bathing on the River Cherwell. It was located next to the path on the way to Mesopotamia at the south-east corner of the Parks. The facility closed in 1991 and the area now forms part of the Parks.

Long Crendon Football Club is a football club based in Long Crendon, Buckinghamshire, England. They are currently members of the Hellenic League Division One and play at Marsh Lane, groundsharing with Oxford City.
