Hurum Church

Klokkarstua is a village in Asker municipality in Akershus county, Norway. It is located on the southern part of Hurumlandet, the peninsula between the Oslofjord and Drammensfjord.Highway 289 (Rv289) runs through the village and meanders west down to the Drammensfjord, where the ferry goes on to Svelvik. This is the location for a production plant of Rottefella ski bindings. It also has a sports complex. Klokkarstua was the administrative centre of the former municipality of Hurum until 2012. Hurum Church is located at Klokkarstua. Its population (2005) is about 700. Hurum Church (Hurum kirke) is a medieval era stone church dating from 1150. The pulpit was a gift from the wife of naval hero, Ivar Huitfeldt. This is the location of the Huitfeldt family tomb which dates from 1750.

Hurum was a municipality in Buskerud county, Norway. As of 1 January 2020 Hurum has merged with the municipalities of Røyken and Asker to form the new Asker Municipality located in the newly formed Viken county. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village Sætre. The municipality of Hurum was established on 1 January 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt). The small village of Holmsbu was granted town status in 1847, but it did not become a municipality of its own. It lost its town status on 1 January 1964. Hurum was once suggested as the location for the new national airport of Norway. The plan was, however, abandoned, due to fears of too much fog in Hurum, and the main airport is now situated at Gardermoen in Akershus.

Sætre is a village in Asker municipality in Akershus county, Norway. Sætre is situated on the western bank of the Inner Oslofjord, approximately 45 kilometers south of Oslo. Sætre was the administrative centre of the former municipality of Hurum in Buskerud between 2012 and 1 January 2020. The village had a population of 3796 as of 1 January 2019. Sætre was the most populous village in the former municipality of Hurum.

Berger is a town in the municipality of Svelvik in Vestfold, Norway. The town has a population of 1 125 (2021), and lies on the western side of the Drammensfjord.

Åros is a village in Røyken in Asker municipality in Akershus county, Norway. The population of Åros (2005) is about 1 142.

The Hurum air disaster was an Aero Holland plane crash in Hurum southwest of Oslo, Norway when a Douglas DC-3 which was carrying Jewish children from Tunisia who were to transit through Norway while immigrating to Israel crashed as it was approaching Fornebu Airport on 20 November 1949, killing 34 people, including 27 children.

Båtstø is a small village in Asker municipality in Akerhus county. The village is situated along the Oslofjord between Åros and Nærsnes in Røyken. The distance to Drammen is about 24 km and to Oslo about 38 km. The population of Båtstø was 228 as of January 2005.

Røyken is a district and village (bygd) and a former municipality in Buskerud in Viken County, Norway. In 2020 Røyken was merged with the municipalities of Hurum and Asker to form the new Asker Municipality (informally called "Greater Asker") located in the newly formed Viken county. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Midtbygda. The parish of Røken was established as a municipality on 1 January 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt). Oslo ATCC, the Area Control Center for the controlled airspace above Østlandet is located here.

Mølen in Brunlanes, Larvik is a geopark and Norway's largest beach of rolling stones. It is a part of Vestfoldraet, the terrain left behind after the end of the most recent ice age around 10,000 years ago. Mølen is one of Larvik's most popular tourist attractions. It is home to over a hundred species of rock, including Norway's national stone, Larvikite, which is named from the area.The wind and sea have lashed the landscape of Mølen for thousands of years, and the place takes its name from the Old Norse word "mol", meaning a stone mound or bank of stones. Mølen first received protected status in 1939 due to its ancient burial mounds. Mølen is home to over 230 cairns, some exceeding 35 metres (115 ft) in diameter. Excavations have dated the cairns to the Bronze Age 900-600 BCE. The cairns have been purchased and acquired by the University Museum of National Antiquities.Mølen received a new protection status in 1970 due its rich and unusual avifauna. Mølen is a habitat for a variety of rare bird species. Between 316 and 320 species of birds have been recorded at Mølen, more species than at any other site in Norway.It became the first UNESCO Global Geopark in the Nordics in 2008.

Håøya is an island in Oslofjorden in Frogn municipality, Norway. Its area is 5.6 km², which makes it the largest island in Inner Oslo Fjord. It is located between Oscarsborg and Gråøya. Søndre Håøya is a nature reserve area. White-tailed eagles nest on the southeastern part of the island. They returned in 2008 after an absence of 126 years. Visitors are permitted to harvest mushrooms and berries under 'freedom to roam' but other plants and flowers are protected. Goats graze the island during the summer. The island has a mooring jetty, camping areas, swimming beaches, public toilets, cabins for rent, and historic bunkers and buildings. The island was part of the defense of Oslo, along with Oscarsborg Fortress.

Røyken Upper Secondary School (Norwegian: Røyken videregående skole) is an upper secondary school situated in Røyken, Viken county, Norway. The school was established in 1978, and the first Headmaster was Olav J. Aadnekvam. The present Headmaster is Ole K. Sageng, and the present Deputy Headmaster is Ellen Watkinson. About 800 pupils attend the school, which offers 7 different programs in the Norwegian upper secondary school system. Røyken videregående skole is an UNESCO-Associated Schools Project school, and offers several international exchange programs. Catherine Coleman (who became a NASA astronaut)(USA) and Una Tomasevic (Yugoslavia) were exchange students to Røyken videregående skole during the 1978–79 school year. About 800 pupils attend the school in 38 classes. The school offers a wide range of teaching programs in both vocational subjects and study preparatory education programs. Røyken Upper Secondary School cooperates with many companies in the placement of professional students in practice, and has a good cooperation with various institutions that contribute to the teaching. The school also has close contact with schools abroad and has regular student exchange projects every year.
